Chapter Seven (#7); The k********g Act

375 Words
THE NEXT DAY, TOPAZ WAS MISSING. Pearl and Citrus freaked out, imagining that he got kidn*pped. They told Gemstone Sophia about the note, and she said that she’d take them to Casper Cove on Thursday. Citrus couldn’t wait for tomorrow. She didn’t receive a note that day, and she tried going against one of the oldest and strongest agents. She nearly won, but ended up losing. Citrus couldn’t take her mind off of her best friend. Citrus started hyperventilating and Gemstone Sophia recommended she take a break. Since solving the bank code, the Diamondbacks had added extra security to the bank. Gemstone Sophia also gave Citrus her gem to watch over. Citrine was really pretty. In fact, it was Citrus’ namesake and Citrus couldn’t help wondering if that was an accident. Gem Diamond, the girl guarding the most precious diamond in the bank (the Heart Stone Diamond), was growing weary and tired. She had to constantly keep her eye on the diamond, more than ever, now that the code was solved. Gem Diamond was barely even allowed to sleep. But Citrus couldn’t help wondering how the Heart Stone Diamond would even survive the bank explosion. Citrus’ eyes were drying out and burning quickly. The tension was unbearable and Citrus could barely focus through her agent training. Citrus thought about what her substitute scientist had told her that day. “Sometimes, the solutions to the hardest problems, are the simplest things.” For some reason, Citrus kept going back on it. It made her feel a little better about Topaz’s absence for some reason. Citrus kept thinking about it until her poor eyes closed and she fell asleep. When Citrus awoke, she was in her house and her parents were somewhere downstairs. They were making some sort of concoction. It was day outside, which meant Citrus had slept through the night. Citrus thought about what her teacher had taught her and wrote it down in one of her journals. "Lesson Eighty-Nine;” She said aloud while writing, “Sometimes, the solutions to the hardest problems, are the simplest things.” Citrus closed her journal, tucked it in her coat pocket (the journal was small enough to fit) and headed downstairs, ready to face Casper Cove.
