Today supposed to be a good day, today was a day of celebration but here I am at the hospital my husband's family owns, the place I've worked at for five years. But I wasn't here to work I was here because my best friend was in the ICU fighting for his life. I'm a doctor, I know that his body could reject the new heart, he could get an infection, he could go into shock. My mind was running 100 miles per hour.
All we could do was pray and wait. I've always been on the other end of this, but now I'm experiencing what the families feel once we've given them the news.
