Clarissa felt uncomfortable at Princess Jasmine's party. Before the event was over, she decided to go home. But Mr. Barrow had not yet picked her up.
"Why are you waiting outside, Clarissa?" Loris, also at the party, approached Clarissa, who was waiting outside Princess Jasmine's residence.
"Oh, I want to go home, Loris," Clarissa replied. "But it looks like Mr. Barrow hasn't arrived yet." Clarissa looked uneasy when she saw Loris. There seemed to be something she wanted to ask.
Loris understood that Clarissa had been waiting for a letter from Michael. Michael had not even written to him or his parents.
"Has he written to you yet?" Loris asked. He knew that Michael had never written to her. He also knew Clarissa was embarrassed to say it, so he started first.
Clarissa shook her head.
