Reeva POV The sun is still low on the horizon, casting long amber streaks across the stone pathway that leads toward the training grounds. Hayden and I walk with steady, measured steps, our boots striking the cobblestones in a rhythm as natural as breathing. “Are you sure you don’t want to stay at the pack house?” I ask, looking at him. “I don’t mind that you’re coming, I just think it’s going to be boring. Watching a bunch of warriors the entire day. There’s no intellectual stimulation.” “Opposed to hiding in my room because I don’t want to see my father?” He snorts. “Sunburn and boredom sound much better.” “You’ll have to face him eventually,” I reply softly. I do not want to pressure him. If I were in his shoes, I would have avoided Bernard, too. But it is going to happen eventually
