5} Mates and a curse

I wake up next to a man who’s sleeping like a boy, I’m still naked while he’s dressed in shorts and a shirt I wrap the cover over my body sneaking away from him going to grab my clothes.

I know it’s wrong sneaking away but I need to think about this or this will be on my mind all day. I put on my clothes tiptoeing down the hallway to my room.

I smile at the pairs of clothes in my bed with a note on top of it, I close the door grabbing the note to read it.

Dear Alek,

I wanted to give you the clothes I don’t wear, maybe once everything is settled I could take you shopping? Please let me know I’ll love to go.

I smile tossing the note grabbing a pair of pajamas going into the bathroom, I turn on the shower letting it run hot then I take off my clothes and get into the shower starting to wash my body but my heart suddenly starts to beat fast remembering the way his hands was all over my body and I whimper hurrying up to wash my body.

After im done I get out putting the clothes on the armrest before laying in my bed my body relaxing for the first time since I got here my body instantly falling asleep.

I wake up later in the day, I go downstairs to see the older woman sitting around talking in angry voices but I pay them no mind since it’s not my business with whatever they got going on.

Grabbing something small from the kitchen I go sit out on the porch watching the dark evening nibbling on the food staring at the moon, it seems like it’s smirking at me like it knows my secret.

I see Jacob he comes over to sit next to me looking out as well, I don’t say a word just waiting on him to speak since I know he has something to say.

“Tomorrow me and my brothers are going to confront our dad” he says my eyes snap to him, his father? The enemy? I tilt my head curious as to why he’s telling me this.

“They want to bring you, Kade doesn’t like the idea but Jackson doesn’t mind” he says I nod slowly thinking of Kade and why he might not like the fact that I’ll be coming with him.

“We leave later tonight, Athena and Aliyah is coming as well” he says getting up and going back inside, i sigh sinking into the chair nibbling on the food I spot a red cup and smile bringing the fresh water to my lips.

Thank you Jake, I say to him through mindlink but he doesn’t say anything just chuckling so I cut the link off and sit in the cool air for a while.

My night with Kade had been amazing but does he think that way? Did he enjoy himself last night?

I get up clearing my thoughts I walk in seeing Amir and Jackson talking in small voices I don’t tap into my hearing until I hear Jackson.

“I’ll be back in a few days, so watch over the pack” he says he moves to walk off but I catch up to him calling him.

“Where are you going?” I say crossing my arms he turns to me showing no emotion that he’s been caught and I’m very impressed.

“What do you mean?” He says innocently I scoff at him shaking my head at him, “I heard you speaking to Amir, you’re leaving where in a few days?” I say tilting my head he sighs giving me a small smile.

“You’re a powerful woman” he says I shake my head in disbelief but he cuts me off before I can even speak.

“I’ll be going to the fae world” he says I frown at him my heart racing quickly I step back a little like he gave me the most heartbreaking news of my life.

He’s going to the fae world? Why? What does he need from there?

“What is your reason?” I ask he looks at me frowning and his eyebrows burrowing like he doesn’t want to tell me but I’m going to push.

“I need to go ask for a favor, all the fae are coming no werewolves except me you’re welcome to come” he says I stutter a bit looking at him, what about Jacob? He can’t just do that.

I sigh as I see Kade rushing over to us his eyes blazing with anger. I hope that isn’t towards me, he jabs a finger in Jackson face.

“So you’re leaving again huh? While we’re going through a war? You’re going to leave? And for what?” He says Jackson growls smacking his head out his face i quickly step in grabbing Kade.

“I need to speak to you” I say he looks towards me then towards his brother he walks over to a spot away from Jackson with me then he suddenly rounds on me.

“And you left me, I didn’t think of that as a one night stand Rina I think of you more then that” he says to me my heart pounds as my body wells up with so many emotions, love, fear, sadness, happiness.

We might be mates.

But I don’t know how that feels.

I just pull him in a very long, hot and heated kiss loving the taste of him he kisses me back surprised I kissed him first, I pull away smiling a bit.

“What was that for?” He says gulping looking at me with lust filled eyes but I back away.

“I’m going with Jackson to the fae world” I say confidently he chews on his lip looking at me.

“You can’t be serious, he’s not to be trusted!” He says a little loud causing Jackson to look over here but I give him a look making him laugh which surprises me.

“Fine, if you’re going so am I” he states puffing out his chest i sigh shrugging.

“It was only supposed to be fae Jackson-“

“Who cares what Jackson said! I am going and that’s final” he says to me walking off I sigh looking at Jackson who shrugs.

“I know that’s your mate” he says I rush to him frowning, “Tell me what’s a mate?” I say he sighs deeply looking behind me I move to the side looking at what he’s looking at.

Ava.

“Mates are the most horrible thing no doubt, you have to worry about them, you feel they’re pain and you feel all these emotions you don’t want to feel” he says while looking at Ava and my heart thumps in my chest.

That’s a mate? I look seeing Kade in the kitchen talking with Calliope who’s smiling and laughing.

Jealously runs through me so I turn away looking at Jackson ignoring the hot feeling rushing up my body.

I think I’m going to pass out, I wobble a bit Jackson reaches his hands out to catch me I lay on my side trying my best to focus Jackson curses calling someone over they gasp looking down at me I start to feel a searing pain in my side the mark burns badly I arch my back howling in pain, I feel Jackson lift up my shirt the person gasp my eyes go blurry.

“She has it! Dammit Jackson she has it!” I hear Kade yell I scream curling in a ball.

What is this mark? Is it their curse? Is it because i mated with Kade? What is it? I stop screaming getting up I adjust myself trying not to fall as I look to Kade my eyes in pain and terror.

“What mark is this? What is going on?” I say calming Roxana stands next to Kade growling lowly i could barely hear it my eyes snap to her, she looks at me her eyes shining in sympathy.

“You have our curse” he mutters I walk closer to him lifting my shirt showing the mark he flinches at me looking at my hip.

It’s a beautiful mark, it’s a wolf symbol carved into my side it looks different since it’s fresh but I know it’ll be beautiful once it heels I look at Kade he looks at me in disgust moving backwards.

“You think this is beautiful? Oh you’ve got to be kidding me I can’t believe you find this beautiful” he says but I just smile shaking my head.

“I’m sorry, Kade there’s a lot you don’t know about me so please don’t judge me so soon” I say softly he looks at me shaking his head in disbelief everyone is watching by now, I know we’re loud.

He rushes over putting his hands on my face pulling me close he whispers in my air while walking us backwards.

“You will regret this curse I promise you, I’m the only one with it this will ruin us both” he says I stop making him push into me, I gasp as he puts his hand on my hip pushing down on the mark I push him off lifting my shirt so some air can get on my skin the mark stings like crazy.

“Alek-“

“No don’t you speak to my mate! Don’t say anything, Rina I think we need to be alone” he says to me walking over to grab me but I move back going inside the house without getting grabbed he follows me until I’m in my room staring at him.

“What was that?” I say crossing my arms looking at him he sighs shaking his head, “it’s you making me feel crazy” he says, “you making me feel this way” he says again looking at me with the crazed look like he wants to devour me I look away pushing my hair in my face he sits in the chair just looking at me.

“Are you happy to be going to the fae world?” He suddenly asks and I’m very surprised by the questions my whole body goes ridged.

Am I happy? I mean I never been there but my brother has and that was basically my mothers hometown.

“Oh I’m not really excited or happy about what’s ahead the fae world is full of dangerous creatures out there” I say staring off into the distance.

“I hope I don’t get in the way of what you’re looking for” he says I lay in the bed looking at the ceiling.

I know my brothers are dead so I just need to know what happened and it’ll be good to know what happened.

“You won’t” I say smiling at me his eyes widen but I turn to look out the window seeing a figure staring dead at me.
