Since that day, Cheryl hadn't seen Kaine, and she had mixed feelings about that.
She lay on the bed in her normal position, staring out of the window in a trance. The sound of little birds chirping was like a lullaby to her; she was lost in thoughts, wondering what was recently wrong with her.
Since yesterday, she had been feeling strange; a hot itch was starting from deep down her body, and every day it was spreading slowly. The worst part was that she didn't know or have any idea how to scratch the itch.
The door of the room opened, and Cheryl turned quickly. On seeing the blonde-haired man that she had grown familiar with over the days, a small smile lightened up her face. “Malachi!” I thought you weren't coming today.”
Malachi, who was holding a plate of covered food, shook his head slightly. “Of course I have to come; if I don't, the Alpha would have my head.”
Cheryl scoffed, not believing that Kaine would care if someone brought her food or not.
Cheryl sat up and took the spoon from Malachi, wolfing down the food.
After she was done eating, Malachi was about to stand up from the bed, but Cheryl held onto the sleeves of his clothes tightly.
He stopped and looked at her. “What's wrong? Do you have anything you want to relay to the Alpha?” He asked with raised brows; his blue eyes reflected Cheryl's dishevelled figure.
“Can you stay a little bit longer today?” Cheryl asked, “I'm feeling lonely staying here all alone,” she added.
Malachi shook his head hurriedly, “No, I can't; the Alpha won't be happy with that.” After saying this, Malachi took the thermal plate and left hurriedly.
Leaving Cheryl seething on the bed.
…
Kaine flipped through the documents on the table.
For the past week now, he had been busy with documents, thereby making it impossible for him to visit Cheryl, so he had handed the task to Malachi.
Suddenly thinking of his mate, Kaine stopped what he was doing and stood up, walking to the large floor to the window ceiling, leaning on the glass. He looked at the large pack compound that was bustling with activities and laughter, a strange look in his eyes.
Truth be told, he couldn't accept Cheryl; no matter how he made it look, he couldn't accept the fact that she was his mate, but at the same time, he couldn't let her go.
The conflicting emotions
in his heart made him crazy.
At one point he hated her with all the fibre of his being, but at the same time, he wanted to love and cherish her, hold her in the palms of his hands, and pamper her.
‘Don't forget that it was her pack that ruined your life and destroyed your family,’ a voice said in his head.
Kaine’s eyes, which had been previously brown, turned red. He clenches his fist tightly, the veins on them pulsating prominently as he punches the glass.
A crack appeared on the glass window, like a spider web. Kaine raised his hand and punched again, and this time, the entirety of the glass shattered, flying everywhere.
Some of them made their way to Kaine's face, hands, and other body parts, blood gushing down the wound with pain, but Kaine didn't care; the pain was like a booster to him.
His eyes dilated as he inhaled, then he turned and opened the door of the office, closing it with a loud bang.
…
Cheryl turned around on the bed restlessly, feeling hot and flushed.
Her body was itching her, and she didn't know what was wrong.
In all her 20 years of life, she hadn't experienced such a feeling before, and it was worrying her.
She panted heavily, rubbing her legs together. She felt empty and craved the love and attention of her mate.
Just as she was lost in the throes of her want, the door of the room opened, and a predatory-looking Kaine walked in.
Immediately he walked into the room. Kaine’s nose flared at the seductive scent flittering into his nose, his brown eyes darkening to the extent that they were almost black.
Cheryl moaned on noticing his presence; his masculine scent filled her nose, making her twist like spaghetti.
“Kaine….” She moaned out, stretching out her chained hands towards him.
“s**t! You are in your heart." Kaine cursed, trying so hard to reign control of himself, but it was exactly impossible.
The wolf before him was his mate, someone the moon goddess had arranged for him, and she was exactly a missing piece of him.
He hurried towards her, his brown eyes blazing red.
His body pressed onto hers that was on the bed
“No… I don't want..." Cheryl rejected his touch, but her body clung to him.
Kaine pressed his lips on hers, against Cheryl's refusal.
“Let me go... " I don’t want to." She stammered out, trying to twist her body away from his touch, but Kaine held onto her tightly.
“Stay still, Cheryl! You are my mate, and I'm your Alpha,” Kaine bellowed at her.
"No, you are not my Alpha; you are the monster... I hate you." Cheryl spat out; though her senses had been clouded by the heat, she still hated Kaine and what he had done.
“You have no right to reject me just because I destroyed your lack; after all, your pack was the reason why mine was previously destroyed,” he spat, using all his strength to hold her tightly on the bed while he swiftly slipped off her clothes.
“What are you saying...” Cheryl hadn't finished speaking when his lips covered hers completely, tongue slipping into her mouth as he completely took away her ability to speak.
