  Elara   My heart immediately betrayed me.   The moment Damian asked the question, I knew I was in trouble. For one ridiculous second, I considered telling the truth.   Then common sense returned. "No. I didn't even think about you."   The answer came out much too quickly that made one of Damian's eyebrows lifted.   "No?" he asked, staring at me with those expressive eyes.   "No," I repeated.   His mouth twitched. "That was very convincing."   I folded my arms and looked away. "It was the truth."   Damian studied me for several seconds before taking a slow step forward. "Interesting," he said. "The fact that you answered as soon as I finished asking the question."   He took another step until the distance between us grew smaller.
