APRIL
Myself and Marney were currently sitting in Starbucks at the shopping mall sipping on a latte as we chilled from all the shopping. I had bought a new dress for tomorrow and surprisingly Marney also bought a dress for something tomorrow. I was severely curious when her face paled when I mentioned that Blake wanted me to go tomorrow and I couldn't help but wonder, why?
"Marney?" She looked up to me placing her cup down on the table, " What's been up with you recently?" I watched as her eyes widened and she flicked her blonde hair over her shoulder nervously.
"What are you talking about?" She sheepishly replied with a creepy smile on her face.
"These past few weeks you've been distant and secretive. I thought we were best friends? Your like my Sister and I hate when you go all quiet on me." I confessed with a frown.
We have been friends for a very long time and we used to do everything together but now, everything has changed.
"Why do you always pull the Sister card on me?" She whined throwing her hands down in her lap.
"It's the truth." I replied instantly.
"I know but you make me feel guilty." She frowned, " I want to tell you but we sort of settling on telling you when he got back." She smiled and I was just wondering who 'he' was?
"Who is this he?" I asked curiously with an eyebrow raised.
"Clayton." Clayton. Isn't that Blake's best friend? Why is she hanging around with him?
"Why are you hanging around with him?" I asked and she laughed shaking her head.
"I'm not hanging out with him I'm going out with him." I froze, " As in dating..." She looked at me like I was dumb but I couldn't believe how cute this was!
So....I jumped up in down in my seat squealing while half the population of the people in Starbucks laughed at me.
"April, please your being embarrassing!" Marney hissed across the table and I stopped my wild actions and grinned happily.
"Me and Blake can go on double dates with you." I told her excitedly, " How did this happen? When?" I asked eager to know the story of their romance.
"Well that night we went to the club, we started making out on the dance floor and it felt amazing. It's the first guy I've kissed that gives me butterflies at a single touch." She boasted, " We ended up hooking up at the end of the night and then the following day he asked me on a date." I smiled and remembered the butterflies that Blake gives me at a single look never mind a single touch.
"It sounds like your meant to be." I told her happily.
"I hope so because I really like him." She admitted with a shy smile making me laugh at her.
We sat in silence as I took the information in and sipped on my hot latte. I wondered if Blake already knew about this but didn't tell me about it or if Clayton was keeping it a secret too?
"It's getting late do you wanna head home?" I asked her and she smiled and grabbed all her shopping bags, while I followed the gesture.
I was really glad that Marney was open about all this to me but now I just want to go home, have a shower, make a hot chocolate with marshies and watch a movie.
BLAKE
"Is everything of yours packed man?" Clayton asked and I nodded as I grasped my ribs that were searing in pain.
That's what happens when a stupid foolish man rams the end of a gun into you six times. I shook my head in annoyance because if Ambrose pulled the god damned trigger when he was meant to I would have been absolutely fine!
I understand that he's scared since he's new to all this but why the hell would he come out here if he wasn't ready? I would literally hate it if he was another guy out here to just hold a gun and wear a respected uniform.
I put everything I have into this because I want to keep my country safe and because I love everything that I do here. Being a Marine is in my blood, it's who I am and I won't let anyone disrespect that
"Yeah." I uncomfortably shifted on the helicopter.
You couldn't really see anything in this darkness apart from the dim lights coming from our base. We had to travel home at night since it wasn't safe to leave during daylight.
"You better tell April to go steady on the cuddles." I glared at Clayton.
Something about that statement didn't sit well with me because I wanted her arms wrapped around me while I held her tight. I have missed her so much that I don't think I would really care if she squashed my ribs to nothing.
"She can cuddle me all she wants." I mumbled putting my harness over me as the helicopter started up.
We are normally only in the helicopter for ten minutes, then we get out and go into the military planes which definitely have more comfortable seating arrangements.
"I can't wait to get home and have a take out." My mouth watered at the suggestion but because we are getting home earlier and we will be home for about one in the morning, I'm just going straight to see April.
Then tomorrow I'm going to show her my new and first base house. Clayton has one too but I just hope his house is a little away from mine so I could get some peace and quiet.
Spending two weeks with him is long enough.
"Won't be long now." I replied with a smile as the helicopter raised into the air with ease.
I can't wait to see her.
APRIL
I groaned and opened my eyes wondering where the hell the noise was coming from. I looked at my alarm and groaned again when I realised if was two in the morning.
But there it was again it sounded like someone was throwing something at my window.
I got out of bed and tip toed to my bedroom window and peeked behind the cream and red curtains to see a figure in the dark throwing things at my window.
One hit again and I flinched as it hit but I soon realised it was only a pine cone.
"Can you knock it off?!" I hissed, " Go and annoy other neighbours its two in morning!" I added and heard a chuckle come from the dark figure.
Why did it sound familiar?
"I would go and annoy the other neighbours but I believe my girlfriend stays in there." He pointed to my house and I looked closely in shock, he wasn't home until tomorrow right?
"Blake?" I breathed loud enough from him to hear.
"Hey baby." He stepped into the light with one hand holding his left sided ribs in full uniform. He looked like a beautiful tired angel as the street lights shone on his heavenly face.
I quickly closed my window and slipped my black converse on top of my cosy bed socks and a pink hoodie on top of my white vest top. Even in a rush, I was surprised it matched my pink pyjama bottoms.
I scrambled out of my room trying not to wake my Mum up in the progress and ran through the hallway, into the kitchen and turned the lock on the back door.
He was still standing in the exact same spot and I breathed heavily as tears continued to flow.
My stomach had butterflies and my legs felt like jello making me question how I even managed to run towards him and wrap my arms around his neck.
"Easy baby." He hissed in pain and I pulled back to look at him slightly worried. What's wrong with him?
"Are you ok? What happened?" I panicked as he looked down to his ribs with a frown.
"I promise you I'm fine." He told me firstly as he put his hand on my cheek, " I jus had a small complication that's all." I nodded and leaned into the embrace of his hand on my cheek.
"I've missed you so much beautiful." He whispered against my lips making me shiver with delight.
I pushed my head forward a little and placed my lips on his desperately. His lips were salty but the taste was almost addicting and I swear I moaned slightly when he tugged on my bottom lip with his teeth. I wrapped my arms around his neck and tugged on his hair gently not wanting to hurt him and I gave him access making us both groan with need.
When he pulled away out of breath and we stared intently into each others eyes, I knew that the missing piece of me that was gone these past few weeks was back and I felt complete with him.
I smiled as a tear dripped from his eye making me follow his action by repeating it. I leaned forward and kissed his tear away and laced my fingers through his, grabbing his bags of things and pulling him into my house.
"I missed you too." I whispered as we walked up the stairs trying not to make to much noise to wake my Mum up from her sleep.
I gave him a quick peck on the lips before he went into the bathroom to quickly get cleaned up and get changed into grey sweats with a white top.
When he came out he smelt of my coconut shower cream and my strawberry shampoo making me smile as I lay beneath the covers all cosy. He smiled at me sleepily before hopping on the bed and turning the lamp off.
Luckily, the light from outside still allowed us to see each other clearly. I smiled at his messy brown hair and sleepy eyes, he looked so adorable.
"What are you smiling at?" He whispered reaching under the covers and lacing his fingers through mine tightly.
"You look so adorable." I whispered back with a chuckle making him smile too at the compliment.
"It's unbelievable how much I've missed your laugh." He confessed, " Talking over the phone just isn't the same." He frowned and I leaned forward giving him a gentle kiss on the lips.
"Your tired Blake." I whispered stroking his cheek making him close his eyes and smile softly.
"I won't sleep unless you wrap your arms around me and and cuddle in." He replied softly making my heart melt slightly.
I moved myself down the bed a little and leaned my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around him, careful not to hurt his ribs. The sounds of his steady heart beat made me feel so relaxed and I gave him a quick peck where the source of the sound was coming from.
"You mean so much to me April." He whispered sleepily.
"You mean a lot to me too." I whispered back as he wrapped his arms more tightly around me.
He meant everything to me.
