She gulped the water down her throat while Henry watched her.
He knew the job she was doing and he knows she was doing it for the sake of him and their grandmother
Anytime she comes back looking tired,he pities her and feels useless for himself because he could not help.
If it wasn’t for him, his sister would not engage in such job.
But she wouldn’t even allow him to work even if it’s a part time job. She insists on providing everything they need and he knows it has not been easy for her.
If only their parents were not dead and he wish their grandmother never had that accident while she was doing different jobs just to feed them.
Now everything is on Annabella alone.
“Hey Henry” Annabella called.
“I thought you were ignoring me”Henry said.
“I was until i saw how you were lost in thought!” Annabella rolled her eyes.
“Ohh” Henry said scratching his head.
“Are you probably thinking about the girl that left here in tears?” Annabella asked.
“Ohh…you mean Ivy?” Henry asked.
“I don’t care what her name is. Henry,this will be the tenth time a girl will walk out of this apartment crying!”.
“Tenth? Common sis, you exaggerate too much. It’s not even up to the sixth time, it should be the fourth time or so” Henry said.
Do you think is a good thing to make a girl cry? Henry i knew what you did to Johnson when he made me cry. You almost killed him.
“Well that guy was a motherfucker” Henry said remembering the incident that occurred which made him feel like punching Johnson all over again.
“And you’re?” Annabella asked
“Okay sis. I’ll change” Henry said.
“You always say this but you keep repeating the same thing”
“I also want to change sis! But they keep coming to me! And..I can’t resist” Henry said putting the hair that fell on his forehead”
Annabella stared at her younger brother wishing he wasn’t this good looking.
He’s right!
They keep coming to him.
Girls flock around Henry like flies,even those older than him.
His handsome crafted face is just so perfect,he has a pointed nose and his huge eyes were blue against his smooth chocolate skin, he is tall and powerfully built for a seventeen years old high school student.
He always stood out among others.
He is very intelligent, always getting a gold medal at the end of each term.
No one has been able to beat his intelligence and that brought more eyes on him.
Annabella is so happy he’s serious with his education and he won’t drop out of school just like her.
She made a promise to herself to make sure Henry completes his education and get his degree.
She loves her younger brother so much.
“Damn! You’re still young for all these” Annabella yelled
I’m seventeen! Henry said
“You’re still in high school and you just clocked seventeen three days ago”. Annabella said
“That doesn’t make me less seventeen. I’m seventeen Annabella”.
Whatever! Where’s grandma? Annabella asked.
She’s taking a nap! Henry answered
“Okay” Annabella picked her bag on the kitchen cabinet and also the half bottle of water before walking out of the kitchen.
“Common sis, are you angry at me?” Henry called after her.
“Of course” Annabella answered.
I promise to change! Henry said.
I’ve heard that more than a hundred times! Annabella rolled her eyes.
I will this time. “I promise”.
“Whatever” Annabella said opening the door to her room.
“I bought you chocolates” Henry said happily.
Really? Annabella asked.
“Yes but seems you are still angry at me? He asked pouting his lips.
“Am not angry at you any longer,come into my room when you’re done putting the glass cup in place”.
Annabella walked into her room and she dropped her bag on the bed before searching her drawer for contraceptive.
She took two pills of it and push it down with water.
“Don’t think you can keep on making girls cry and bribe me with chocolate so i won’t scold you” Annabella said with her mouth full of chocolate.
Henry laughed.
“Annabella, no one can bribe you into doing anything you don’t want to do, i know you very well” Henry said.
Good that you know that. “Annabella said with a lot of chocolate in her mouth”.
“So what did you get for me on your way back home” Henry said searching her bag”.
“I was not really in my right frame of mind when coming home” Annabella said.
“Why? And what’s this in your bag? Who owns it?” Henry asked and Annabella turned to him immediately.
“What is that?” She asked not sure of what she is seeing.
“It is a card, i found it inside your bag” Henry said.
“Card? Wait….you mean card?” Annabella eyes widened as she grabbed the card from him.
What!
That crazy man slipped his card into my bag.
What the hell!!!
Now it shows he’s more crazy.
“What’s wrong sis” Henry asked.
“T…his crazy man just asked me to be his daughter’s babysitter which i refused” Annabella said reading the information on the card.
Just his name and contact with email address was in the card.
“A babysitter? Who is he? I don’t seem to understand what’s going on” Henry asked with a confused look.
“Well….i spent the whole night with him”. Annabella said
“Ohh but being his daughter’s babysitter is more decent than..”Henry said
“I know” Annabella interrupted him.
So why don’t you work for him or is the pay little? Henry asked.
“No but who would want a prostitute like me to be his daughter’s babysitter?”
“Is that why you said he’s crazy?”
“Of course….yes and slipping his card inside my bag even when i refused the offer makes him more crazy” Annabella said.
“You should gather more information first before spending the night with anyone”
What’s his name? Henry asked.
It’s here, didn’t you see it? Annabella said stretching back the card to him.
“You grabbed the card from me before i could even check what’s on it” Henry said taking back the card from Annabella.
“Williams Gabriel!” He suddenly screamed, startling Annabella who immediately got on her feet.
“Is he a kidnapper?” She became scared while Henry started laughing hard.
“Williams Gabriel is a popular billionaire and a great philanthropist. He is my role model”. Henry later confessed after much laughter.
“What!” Annabella exclaimed.
Yes,don’t you know him? Henry asked.
I also said it that the name sounds familiar after Madam Rebecca mentioned his name “Annabella said breathing out in relief”.
She sat back on the bed.
