I am home

It’s been two weeks, 14 days to be exact since Taehyung has last seen Yoongi and he was dying to see him again. He had decided to search for him and apologize, even if Yoongi ended up hating him after what he had done. He hoped Yoongi would understand that this is all his fault for not handling his insecurities well. He knew he had hurt his best friend because he was too focused on himself. After class, he was on his way to find Yoongi when he saw Jimin, one of his classmates in photography, waving at him. Jimin is a good person, they’ve been hanging out for a few months now and Taehyung is really happy. Jimin is incredibly kind and sweet. Taehyung didn’t thought the boy would take a liking towards him, after all the only friend he had was Yoongi but Jimin was so nice to Taehyung and they immediately clicked. Jimin once told him that they were meant to find each other, that they were a perfect match because of their similarities. Taehyung himself was really surprised about how easily they put trust in each other with everything they felt so of course Taehyung’s problem with his best friend was no exception. Jimin told him that he didn't need to feel that way because just like Yoongi said he was special and that anyone who will get the opportunity to be his friend would be lucky to have him. He told Taehyung that if he would still be single, he would definitely have fallen in love with him. Unfortunately though he already met the love of his life. But he claimed Taehyung as his soulmate which Taehyung agreed on because Jimin was special too and he knew that fate must have brought Jimin, a missing piece of his life. Jimin was still waving at him. There was nothing unusual about the way Jimin excitingly smiled at him but what he didn't expected was Jimin holding Namjoon's hand dragging him to where Taehyung was. The confusion on Taehyung's face was evident and Jimin started giggling while Namjoon himself was blushing. "Hey Taetae, this is Joonie, my dearest love." Jimin said excitedly. If the boy in front of him would be a different boy and not Namjoon, he would’ve tease his new friend for being disgustingly in love but he was dumbfounded. He felt stupid for being jealous for no reason at all. He wanted to scream out of regret for all those days he had avoided Yoongi because of Namjoon. Namjoon who happened to be Jimin's boyfriend. Taehyung didn't wanna cry, but he felt stupid and was angry at himself. He had hurt Yoongi because he didn’t trust their friendship and whatever relationship they had. Taehyung didn't realize he was crying until Jimin enveloped him in a tight hug. After bawling his eyes, Taehyung found himself sitting in between Namjoon and Jimin. His friend rubbing soothing circles on his back to calm him down after his breakdown. When he was calm enough the embarrassment and guilt he felt hit him strong. He didn't know how to explain himself. But he heard himself apologizing which took Jimin and Namjoon by surprise. "Hey Taetae, what are you apologizing for?" Jimin softly asked while holding his hands. Taehyung was ready to face another breakdown in that exact moment but he pushed down the lump in his throat and the tears ready to spill. He needed to handle this and face everything like an adult. He took a deep, calming breathe before speaking. "Jimin, I am so sorry for being stupid. I just wanted to let you know that the best friend I was talking about was Namjoon's friend. I already met Namjoon a few times that is how I know him." Taehyung carefully said making sure that his voice would not c***k. "Okay? But why do you keep apologizing for being stupid? You are not stupid, okay?" Namjoon sincerely asked. Namjoon was so kind to him, he felt the guilt growing inside of him even more. Before Taehyung lost the courage he could gather, he began telling the couple in front of him about what had happened and how Taehyung got jealous of Namjoon. Namjoon just answered with an understanding smile while Jimin gave his hands a squeeze of encouragement and Taehyung couldn’t stop the few drops of tears that fell from his eyes which Jimin gladly wiped away. "I think we were both stupid for not knowing that both our favorite people know each other." Jimin joked. If Taehyung found himself in a different situation, maybe he would‘ve laughed himself but the guilt inside of him was suffocating. "I can't promise you that everything will be perfectly fine again but knowing Yoongi hyung, I know how important you are in his life. He talked about you non stop when we started being friends. I couldn’t believe that he could talk that much because he is know for being quiet and reserved. He barely talks during class unless he needs to. He is so fond of you, Taehyung, that even while you both had this distance for a year he never stopped talking about you, always said how lucky he was to have you as his best friend and how he promised himself to make you happy the best way he could. Trust your friendship, Taehyung. You are important to hyung and he could never stay mad at you for long." Namjoon said with confidence. He was special to Yoongi and Yoongi felt lucky to have him but Taehyung knew better. He was the lucky one for meeting the light during his darkest nights. Taehyung was smiling now while waving and thanking the couple that cheered for him. Namjoon told him that Yoongi was in their shared dorm room sulking on his own because he missed him. Taehyung was nervous. He didn't know what to expect, but it was better for Yoongi to reject him face to face than to never hear anything from the boy again. His hands were clammy. It’s been ten minutes since he arrived at Yoongi and Namjoon's dorm room but he couldn’t bring himself to knock on the damn door. If he was afraid earlier, he was terrified now but Taehyung knew that he deserved the hate he would be recieving from the elder once he saw Taehyung. So after gaining all his courage, he knocked on the door that seemed to mock him but no one answered. He tried twice and then a third time. He almost left when he heard the door knob being turned around and suddenly there he was in front of Taehyung. His eyes looked tired or rather Yoongi himself looked tired. Evidence were the black circles under his eyes, he looked so sad and fragile. Yoongi was always small but he looked even smaller wearing a hoodie twice his size. That was when Taehyung noticed that the hoodie the elder was wearing was Taehyung's present for him on the day of his graduation. Taehyung was so stupid and he hated himself for hurting the boy who has cared for him for such a long time. Taehyung didn't know when he started crying again for the nth time that day but as soon as he was engulfed in the elders arms, all the worries, insecurities and doubts he had melted like they didn't exist in the first place but the guilt he was feeling was still present. He didn't know how long he was crying and he didn't know how he ended up lying on the elders chest. Hearing Yoongi's heart beating was his favorite thing in the world, especially when he was sad, it always calmed him down. The elder loved to play with his hair because apparently Taehyung’s hair was soft and smelled like strawberries. Taehyung was afraid to move, he didn't want this to end. He was afraid that Yoongi would kick him out after that moment but he knew Yoongi well. He was not surprised when the elder spoke but with the hands ruffling his hair still there and the elders heartbeat still calm. "Do you want to talk about it Taehyungie?" Yoongi asked softly and Taehyung didn't realize until that moment how much he missed that rough but soft voice. He wanted to but he was getting tired so he shook his head. "Okay. Sleep more. I will be here once you wake up again“ Yoongi assured him. Taehyung wanted to apologize but blame him that he was drained from all the crying. When he woke up again it was almost 6 in the evening. The sun was almost set but what made him anxious was the fact that he was alone in Yoongi's bed but before he could panic more Yoongi was back offering Taehyung a cup of tea. The surprise and confusion was evident on his face but Yoongi didn't said anything and instead drank his own tea. Yoongi was patient, Yoongi was kind, Yoongi was understanding and despite Taehyung's doubt of their friendship, Yoongi was still there waiting patiently for Taehyung. "Sorry hyung. Sorry that I was born stupid." Those were the first words he had said. Yoongi looked at him surprised and was about to say something but Taehyung needed to say what he wanted to say before he lost all the courage he had gained. "Sorry because I doubted you, doubted our friendship. Sorry for avoiding you for so long and not answering your messages. Sorry for hurting your feelings because even if you said I didn't I know I did. I am sorry for being jealous and thinking that Namjoon is a threat, that he can replace me in your life. Sorry for not approaching you and not telling you what I felt though we promised each other that we would always be honest about how we feel. Sorry for being a bad friend and dongsaeng. I know that saying sorry is not enough but I need to tell you how much I regret being selfish, thinking about my insecurities and fears. I didn't thought about you or your feelings. I am so sorry because I don't deserve you. I am so sorry because even if I don’t deserve it you are still so patient and kind to me, I am so-" Taehyung was cut off by a pair of lips touching his. He held his breath staying still. The lips on his own were soft and warm, the tension in his body immediately left him and he let himself melt into the kiss. Taehyung didn't know what to do but he knew that a moment ago, he must‘ve closed his eyes. The lips that were touching his began to move, a hand on his nape and shoulders were rubbing comforting circles that made him sigh in content. Taehyung whimpered when the elder detached his lips from his which made Yoongi giggle. The moment their eyes met again, Taehyung had no doubt that what they felt for each other was more than just friendship. Which is why, when Yoongi asked him to stay telling him that Namjoon was willing and undoubtedly happy to accompany Jimin at their own shared dorm room, he simply snuggled deeper into the comfort of Yoongi's bed and the warmth of Yoongi's arms. The third time Taehyung woke up, he was expecting to be alone and cold but the warmth of Yoongi's embrace welcomed him. When he opened his eyes, he couldn’t stop himself from giggling because of how pretty and cute Yoongi was. Sleeping beside Yoongi was not an unusual thing for them. Ever since they became best friends they slept over at one another's house doing their usual movie nights every weekend. But this was different. They haven't talked about it but the shine he saw in Yoongi's eyes was enough for him to know that he was not alone, that what he felt was reciprocated by the boy in front of him. He felt happy and giddy which is why he didn't notice Yoongi waking up next to him and when he looked at him, the elder was already looking back at him. It made Taehyung suddenly ashamed about how he looked like a teenager in love so hiding in Yoongi's neck was the first thing he came up with. It was the elders turn to laugh, he found Taehyung cute. Luckily it was Friday and both of them didn’t have any classes. They spent another three hours lying in each other's arms. Namjoon sent Yoongi a message that he and Jimin would be going out and that he and Taehyung could take their time as long as they wouldn’t be naughty which made Taehyung blush. "Hyung?" Taehyung whispered. "Yeah?" Yoongi answered while playing with Taehyung's hair. "What are we?" Taehyung asked. "Whatever you want us to be." Yoongi answered. Taehyung knew what he wanted and though his heart was beating fast he knew that he needed to be honest with Yoongi, that he was lucky enough to know that Yoongi was still there because Taehyung was special to him. "I’d like you to like me." Taehyung shyly answere while playing with Yoongi's free hand. "But I like you already, Taehyungie." Yoongi answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Not like like me as a friend or bestfriend but like like me. I like you and I want you to like me the way I like you." Taehyung reasoned and as soon as his lips were shut, a pair of hands were on his cheeks. He was now facing the elder. "I don't need to like you like you like me because I’ve liked you eversince I met you. When I saw you crying your heart out on that corrider after bumping into me, I knew that we were destined to meet eachother. At first I thought that I wanted to keep you as a friend but with each passing day I got to spend with you, I found myself hoping that I could keep you by my side forever. I wanted to protect you and make you happy because seeing you happy makes me happy. I will not deny that for the past two weeks you have been avoiding me I felt hurt and mad at myself. I thought that I might have said or did something to make you avoid me. I am sorry if I made you feel less important Taehyungie. I could never replace you, just like the air that keeps me breathing, I need you in my life to be a constant reminder of how to be happy." Yoongi sincerely said. Taehyung's heart was so warm, he didn't know what he did in his past life to have this boy in front of him. Yoongi liked him the way he liked him. Taehyung couldn’t help himself but to kiss him. They kissed while giggling and laughing. They were happy, Taehyung was happy because Yoongi liked him and he promised himself that he would never doubt the boy again. It's been five years ever since that day and its been 2 years eversince Yoongi asked him to move in with him. After Yoongi graduated, he published his first book about the struggles of a teenager and the prejudices and injustices their generation was facing. Though Yoongi used his artist name SUGA and not his real name, Taehyung can't help but to feel offended by the people who mocked his boyfriend's creation. Yoongi made Taehyung understand that he himself knew the consequences of publishing a book talking about the reality they were facing. The topic he hade chosen was a sensitive one but Yoongi wanted to speak in behalf of those who couldn’t. But what he didn't expected was to be recognized by one of the best authors, activists and novelists in America. When he was called and asked to meet that person he didn't bat an eye and asked the caller to stop fooling around. Luckily Yoongi was fluent in speaking their language because he needed it to write and convey everything he felt to his readers inside and especially outside the country and to his next generation. No one knew who Yoongi was aside from Taehyung, his family and their trustworthy small circle of friends. Even though he was so big he could avoid meeting people and kept to himself and away from the limelight but it‘s like they said, he couldn’t hide forever. But he was also lucky enough that even before they figured out who SUGA was Yoongi gained a lot of supporters and associations who were now by his side and ready to defend him. It was not easy at first but with Taehyung, his family and friends by his side cheering and supporting him, nothing could stop him from writing for the people who needed to be heard. Which is why when he was asked by the famous American author, that now became a close friend of his, about the LGBT-community he gladly accepted it and for 3 years of being a writer, SUGA made his way to be one of the most well known author in and outside his country. That is why Yoongi needed to fly to the US for a collaboration with famous authors who shared the same principles as he does. They wanted to open the hearts and minds of those who spread rumors, wrong judgements and informations that destroyed peoples dreams. They wanted to make a change. So Taehyung promised himself that as long as it made Yoongi happy, he would keep on cheering and supporting him. Its been a week and today was the day Yoongi would be flying back. Taehyung didn't know what had happened for the past few days without Yoongi by his side. They've been separated but Yoongi never failed to send him a text once in a while and everytime he called he always complained about how much he missed Taehyung which made Taehyung feel warm inside. Taehyung loved to sing but it was Taehyung who always asked Yoongi to sing for him. At first Yoongi didn't like the idea because his voice was awful but what he didn’t know was how soft his voice actually was and how it never failed to lull Taehyung to sleep. Taehyung also got the chance to reminisce about the past. He realized how lucky he was to meet Yoongi and have him as his. He was sitting at their apartment's balcony. He would forever be thankful for choosing this place with Yoongi. They were still in the City but their location was farther from the busy streets of Seoul. There was a lake near their apartment. Though the Han River was Taehyung's favorite the lake near them was still beautiful and calming. When Yoongi told him that they would get the apartment he was doubtful because of how expensive it was but Yoongi told him that he didn't need to worry. They could achieve and get anything they wanted as long as they were together which Taehyung found really sweet. A smile appeared on Taehyung's lips. He didn't knew how a person could be as lucky as him but couldn't ask for more. Yoongi made everything brighter for Taehyung. The quietness and gentle breeze from the trees nearby was interrupted by a notification from his phone. Yoongi would land soon, that is what his reminder told him. He couldn’t help but squeal like a teenage girl meeting his crush for their first date. He thought that a week without Yoongi would be terrible and yes it was difficult but Yoongi always found a way to make Taehyung feel like he was right there. He made Taehyung feel secured and warm without Yoongi in his arms. Taehyung almost decided to leave his car in the middle of the road because of how long the queue for the parking lot was but luckily, Yoongi needed to check some last minute documents with his assistant before leaving the arrival area which gave him enough time to park his car. When Taehyung found Yoongi's black hair, which was his favorite color on the elder, he couldn’t help but run towards him and almost knock both of them down onto the airport's floor. Hoseok couldn’t help but laugh at the both of them being cheesy with each other. Hoseok is one of their good friends. They met Hoseok through Jin simply because Hoseok was Jin's boyfriend. Hoseok and Jin were both working in the US, Jin was running his own restaurant while Hoseok was an in demand choreographer. If you were asking yourself where Namjoon and Jimin were, they were also in Seoul. Namjoon was now one of the most successful inspirational speakers in Seoul and other countries, promoting and spreading positivity and hope to the youth while Jimin was Taehyung's business partner. The two were inseparable which made Yoongi and Namjoon jealous at first but on the long run, they realized that the two were really just platonic soulmates. Jimin was mostly managing their projects and schedules because Taehyung insisted that he was terrible when it came to time management. He was better at doing the shoots with their new found friend and assistant Jungkook. The boy was still young and new to the industry but he was really talented that they often teases him that he might replace Taehyung soon as the best photographer in the industry which the young boy dismissed because apparently, he was Taehyung and Jimin's fan. When they brought the boy into one of their get togethers when Jin and Hoseok went back to Korea, the boy quickly blend with them. Hoseok and Jin took a liking towards the boy, telling everyone that they will adopt him if he wanted to. They knew that there was more to those words because of how flustered Hoseok and Jungkook were looking at drunk and oblivious Jin. Taehyung, Yoongi, Namjoon and Jimin shared looks of understanding and they knew that they would figure it out soon but not that soon because the next thing they knew, Jungkook was going with Hoseok once he flew back to US. Taehyung and Jimin were sulking at first but when they saw how happy Jungkook was, they assured him that it was fine and that they were happy for him. Jungkook on the other hand would still be working for them since he could do the editing in the US and send them back to Korea through email. The power of technology is what he always told Taehyung and Jimin. "Tae, Yoongi-hyung’s fragile bones will break if you don’t stop that." Hoseok joked which earned a glare from Yoongi. "I am not that old." Yoongi tried to be intimidating but his friends knew him to well and knew that he was a big softy. "Stop pretending to be scary hyung. We all know that you are as soft as a marshmallow." Hoseok teased Yoongi more and really who was Yoongi to deny that because he was a true softy when it came to his dongsaengs. When Jin was not with them, he would take over the role of being the eldest and he couldn’t help himself but to spoil his friends whenever he got the opportunity. He orderd them anything they wanted wherein he ended up being scolded by Jin for feeding the children with unhealthy food. When Jin was with them he made sure to feed them with healthy food only. Jin loved to cook especially for his friends. "I missed you hyung." Taehyung said while engulfing Yoongi with his arms. They were now in a nearby cafe because apparently, Yoongi and Hoseok was suffering from jetlag. "I missed you too, love." Yoongi sweetly said while nuzzling his nose into Taehyung's neck. "Stop that. Do you not take pity on me for being a chaperone? I am alone watching you two being as sweet as this cupcake I ordered." Hobi complained. Taehyung decided that he would never let go of Yoongi once they arrived home. "Stop being a drama queen, Hobi-hyung. Once you and Jungkook arrive in America you'll have two boyfriends you can cuddle." Taehyung said which made Hoseok as red as the strawberry milk shake Taehyung had ordered. "Hey! I am not a cuddler nor a drama queen." Hoseok complained. "But that's not what Namjoon said when you stayed at Jin-hyung's house during summer." Yoongi teased and Hoseok almost spit out the iced americano he was drinking while Taehyung couldn’t stop himself for laughing which was soon followed by Yoongi. Taehyung was happy because Yoongi was finally back and they were going back home together. After their small trip to a cafe, Hobi bid his goodbye to the couple to take a cab going to Jungkook's apartment. Apparently, their maknae was not done packing yet and he kept on insisting that he would bring all his things with him but luckily Yoongi saved the day with telling Jungkook that he could leave some of his things in their apartment which made the boy agree and Hobi relieved. True to his words, when they arrived in their apartment he picked up Yoongi bridal style which Yoongi let him do so because aside from being tired, he missed Taehyung. As soon as he was laying on their soft mattress, Taehyung insisted to change Yoongi's clothes and of course he let him. Yoongi was one lucky man for meeting Taehyung and have him in his life. Once Yoongi was changed into comfortable clothes Taehyung joined him on their bed engulfing him into a warm embrace. The last rays of sunshine were setting through their window touching Taehyung's face and making him glow. Yoongi can't help but to lean in and kiss every part of his face. "Hyungie it tickles." Taehyung said between his giggles. "I missed you so much, love." Yoongi said while nuzzling Taehyung's cheeks. "I missed you too so much, love. I almost bought a ticket to follow you there but I remember that ditching Jimin was not a good idea." Taehyung said acting terrified which made Yoongi laugh. "That's true, because an angry Jimin is a scary Jimin." Yoongi agreed. Taehyung was happy, being with Yoongi while holding him in his arms was the definition of happiness. He knew that no matter what happens Yoongi would always be with him and he knew that for all those years they've been together Yoongi never gave him a reason to doubt what they have. Taehyung knew Yoongi would never leave him but he couldn't help but to doubt his worth at times because Yoongi has everything and Taehyung was just...Taehyung. He may have spaced out for a while now because Yoongi suddenly started talking. Taehyung wanted to cry because Yoongi knows and can read him like an open book. "Did I tell you how much I love you, Tae? Did I tell you that you are the reason for me becoming who I am today? Did I tell you how much you made me happy? Because if I haven't, I wanted you to know that I will do everything to see you happy. You will always be the sun who gives me light and the star who shines with me at night. I love you, Taehyungie." Yoongi sincerely and genuinely said looking straight into his eyes and Taehyung cried while Yoongi enveloped him into his arms while he whispered promises and comforting words to Taehyung. Taehyung didn't know how many minutes or if its been an hour passed when he stopped crying but what he knew was how much he loved the boy in his arms. He was willing to fight against the world to prove Yoongi that he loved him more than Yoongi loved him because he was his world. They just laid in their comforting bed, sharing kisses and feeling each other breathing. If this was a dream...Taehyung didn't want to wake up. Yoongi was his home and luckily he was Yoongi's home too.
