Within the week Alina was summoned to the Alpha's office. The night in the woods played through her head. Would he try anything or was she about to get seriously punished? Either way, she was a mess of nerves.
"Just call out if you need my okay? I'll bust ass for you," Ezra mind linked her. She assured him she'd be fine, but would keep in contact.
She swallowed hard and knocked on the office door. She could only smell his scent, which didn't make her feel any better.
"Alina, enter," he practically growled.
She walked in and sat in the empty chair across from him. He sat at his desk, a heavy Mahogony thing.
"Your actions the night of the ceremony were inexcusable," he started.
She crossed her legs, tilted her head to the side and raised an eyebrow at him, but said nothing.
"You have no respect for your Alpha and Luna, coming on to me like that," he looked visibly uncomfortable. "Elsie was inconsolable for days. You ruined what should've been a perfect night."
She scoffed and looked away, no longer afraid of him.
He cleared his throat, "as I was saying... Elsie has demanded I banish you."
Alina gasped, "you can't be serious!"
"Oh I'm quite serious."
"You came on to me. You forced your disgusting mouth on mine," she spat.
"Oh Alina... you're always making such fantastical stories, but you see, Elsie believes me. Because why would I ever force myself on something as beneath me as you?"
"Clearly you didn't think of me this way that night. You were all over me, until I bit you," she rolled her eyes.
"Since I don't need a vote to banish you, your defense is useless to me. But we can make a deal."
She did not like the look on his face. She'd never seen him look so evil with such lust in his eyes. His wolf was just beneath the surface.
"Go on..." she said quietly.
"Become my mistress, on the side, of course. No one can know, but if you agree, I'll make sure she leaves you alone forever. You'll live in luxury, wanting for nothing. And you won't be forced to become a rogue or find a new pack."
Becoming a rogue was basically a death sentence. Every pack killed rogues on sight. They were rarely up to any good, wolves gone feral. They stayed shifted into their wolf form for so long that they began to lose touch with their human side. Finding a new pack was incredibly difficult because wolves rarely trusted newcomers. They didn't allow new members unless they had a good reason or the new member was a mate to one of their own. She was facing the ultimate punishment.
"Are you the Alpha or Elsie's lapdog? You do as she commands you?" Alina had no fear, because she knew she had relatives in a nearby pack that would take her in and vouch for her. Something rarely done, but her relatives held high positions. Being banished would be heartbreaking, but not the death sentence Brandon thought it was.
He glared at her, "let me take you right here on this desk to seal the deal or you leave by sundown tomorrow." He slowly smiled and looked over her body. "The answer is obvious." He stood and began to unbuckle his pants.
"Not so fast, asshole."
"You can't speak to your Alpha like that!"
"You're not my Alpha."
"Don't be stupid Alina! Take the deal. You want to die?"
"I'll take my chances," she stood and straightened the skirt of her dress. "If we're done here?" she asked, c*****g her head toward the door.
"We're not done here," he said as he scrambled toward her.
"Oh, yes we are!" she skirted around him and let him stumble into the wall. She quickly opened the door and ducked into the hallway.
He yelled out the door after her, "you better be out of here by sundown tomorrow or I'll make you take my offer!"
"Oh, don't worry, I'll gladly be gone," she swished her hips as she walked away. She could feel his eyes burning into her back.
When she went home and explained the situation to her parents they were grieved, but understood.
"I know something happened that night," her mother said.
"I didn't want to say anything or ever think about it again," Alina explained. "I'm sorry Mom."
"Don't be sorry baby, it's okay."
Ezra stumbled down the stairs with a suitcase, "I'm coming with you!"
"You have to get permission to leave the pack or be banished," Alina said.
"I don't need permission for a visit. I'll just take a very, very long visit. I'll kiss Alpha Brandon myself if I have to, just take me with you."
"Alright, alright," Alina laughed.
Her mother made the arrangements while Alina packed. She was so angry and frustrated. She had no control over her own life. She had to leave her home at practically a moments notice. How could two people ruin lives like that? It was as if they could snap their fingers and alter her world without a thought. She had a burning hatred for Elsie. She knew she couldn't remain this way, it would just eat at her. But she would be damned if she stopped feeling this way today. It would take time. She threw her clothes and things into suitcases. Her parents would bring or ship the rest of her stuff later. She was taking the essentials and her very favorite things now. Finally, she was done packing. It wasn't neat or pretty, but it was done.
