Veer entered his board room. There was a large rectangular wooden table with 30-40 people seated on chairs around it. They all stand to pay him gratitude. He took his seat and gestured others to do the same.
“Where's he?” His question is enough to show his eagerness to punish their traitor.
The past day wasn’t only life changing for Aadhya but was also blamed for giving a steep turn to Veer’s life. He has a strong persona which made him look least affected, the way he held himself, his dominating demeanor and him addressing Harish Khanna a traitor made it explicit that his marriage will make a least impact on his decision from today’s meeting.
"Sarkar" Anurag turned on a button from remote in his hand, lighting a room adjacent to theirs. A large head to bottom glass window helped them to look straight into the other room. Harish Khanna was sitting on a chair with a table in front. His gaze fixed on table as if lost in his own chain of thoughts.
"Good" Veer said while his murderous stare lingering on his father-in-law, who wasn't even aware of what was happening.
“What that bastard Vyom think, we’ll not get to know his relations with Satan.”
“Bloody hell, he was cousin of that Aditya.”
“And this person dared to join hands with him.” He barked out pointing his hand towards Harish.
“Sarkar”
Kabir called him to deviate his attention to the person standing at entrance, waiting for approval to enter inside. It made Veer shift his gaze to spot once the strongest man in SIRAYAT, Randhir.
Randhir was once known for his ruthless behavior, he single-handedly manages all the weapon supplies from northern India. Head of other cities used to afraid of him. Many Mafia youngsters including Yuvi follow him as their ideal in those times but one devastating day changed everything, he decided to quit Mafia.
Veer remember when he and Baba Sahib decided to give Randhir the command over Delhi, but they were taken aback when news of him leaving Mafia came.
“Welcome Mr. Khanna!! Come and take your seat.” Veer said with a sarcastic note in his voice.
Randhir entered inside and took his seat without doing formalities of greeting the known faces which made them surprised as this misdemeanor was unexpected.
“Let’s start from you now.”
“What your opinion on punishment for your lovely father?”
Veer asked, more like chiding him for his disobedience earlier.
“Vee…. I mean Sarkar, I think you have forgotten mafia rules, you can’t put blame on members from betrayer connections unless they are found guilty.”
Randhir straight forwardly put his point, he was slightly rude. No one would believe this was the same man who shed tears seeing his sister being hurt but this is the reality. He’s not the same person anymore, time healed his inner wounds and made him stronger. His stubborn and emotionless self which left him four years back appeared to be returning.
“Oh Really!! Who’s the member here?”
“You, who fled away from reality, who choose to quit instead of fight.” Veer said with gritted teeth, loud enough to be heard by men standing out, still managed to maintain his temper.
“As far I know, I don’t owe you any justification, Mr. Veer Singh Chaudhari.” He addressed Veer with his name, clearing others doubts of him been scared of anyone or being hesitant to rebel against Veer.
“Enough. Don't forget whom are you talking to?” Veer yelled increasing the tension inside the boardroom.
“I am only here to see that person been punished, nothing else.”
“I don't intend to interfere with your procedure.”
Randhir said in a polite way dulcifying impact of his previous words and while pointing toward his father. He carefully handled the whole situation as he has no intentions of delaying this procedure.
According to him, Harish is culprit of Aadhya, he killed his daughters happiness with his mere hands and he should be punished as soon as possible.
“Fine”Veer finished it off, well aware of the fact of them be digressed a little from their main discussion.
“Any suggestions anyone?”
“Put him under house arrest for a lifetime and…” Came a voice from left.
“Rawat, this would be so easy punishment for a traitor like him. I would recommend shooting right between his eyes.” Someone from right chipped in, giving suggestion of punishing in most cruel way.
“Khan Sahib, Any suggestions from your side?”
Hussain Khan hold control over Lucknow, he served Baba Sahib by being his second in command and not to forget he’s the eldest in today meetings.
“Veer bache, Killing him will not do anything. I understand he probably knew Vyom’s reality, but we can't overlook the sacrifices given by Khanna family and we shouldn't forget he is Sahib's son-in-law. And secondly, he…he's your father-in-law now. This could affect your married life. So, my point is not to give him a death sentence.”
“Sorry to interrupt, but Khan Sahib I think you forget our rules, no one in allowed to keep their relations with traitors.“ One of his men, Kunal said with a frown on his face.
“Indeed Kunal, my wife isn't allowed to keep relations with Khanna’s.”
“Veer, bachi pehle hi etna sab kuj jehl chukki hai, iss trha hum uski takleefa braah rahe he. Woh inn sabb cheezo se anzaan hai abhi”
Khan Sahib tried to give more justification.
(That girl already suffered a lot, one more harsh decision could have bad impact on her.
She's naive for all this.)
“And rules also say to value mafia daughters especially when they are forced into such collaboration.”
“Veer Sarkar, we could do one thing now. We don't want to kill him and even not want him to live freely then why don't cut his legs and let him rest on a wheelchair for his whole life.” Kunal bluntly said as if it’s the easiest way to tackle with situation here.
“Akhir uske leye jeete jee marne se baadi sajja aur kya ho sakti hai.”
(After all what could be most severe punishment other than killing someone alive.)
Some of the men sitting there flinched hearing his statement, they knew it very well that getting handicapped is a biggest curse for a mafia man. Giving your life without stooping your head low is much better than killing your soul daily.
Kunal is one of the cunning men in Sirayat who know how to turn tables in his own accord.
He buttered it so well to be denied without any suitable reason. This reason could only be provided by someone whose sensible enough to give scores to Harish based on work done by him from years not only for his yesterday’s betrayal.
“Agar use jeete je marne ke baat hai, toh woh toh pehla se hi mar chukka hai. Jab koi aulaad apne maa-baap ke jeete ji apne aap ko anaath samj le, toh use braah dukh kya ho sakta ha ek peta ke liye.
Khan Sahib replied to Kunal, he stood his ground and succeed in winning over him from his choice of words and new piece of information.
(If it’s all about killing him everyday by making him live handicapped, then let me tell you when a child called himself an orphan in front of his parents, then there’s nothing more painful than this for a father.)
Khan Sahib’s word astound Veer and when he glared towards Randhir, the look on his face confirmed all his doubts. He’s still the same principled man.
“Anyone else?”
No doubt, everyone paid respect to Veer and his decisions but whenever he took some decisions for SIRAYAT, he always gave his members full chance to express their views but the final decision is always his.
“Fine then. Here's my decisio-“
“Am I allowed to speak on this matter?”
Everyone's attention travelled to the entrance from where this sweet and soft voice was coming.
“Aisha!!” Randhir was shocked on revelation of whose standing there, the least expected person, his sister.
