I almost snorted, catching myself just in time. She was going to be spending a lot of time with them, cooped up in a mini-van if everything went well.
“If she meets her family and they aren’t what she’s expecting, maybe it will put a stop to all this sneaking around. Best-case scenario they don’t even show up. It’s worth a try.
