CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
It was 11:35pm on the night of July 10, when Miguel and Bulldog Parsons had their bloody bar fight. At 11:45pm Miguel ran from the bar chased by his opponent, jumped in his car, ran over Angela Bolane, and killed her. He fled the scene. The 911 call came in at 11:55pm from the bar manager. In 5 minutes and 5 seconds it would be July 11, Miguel Ibarra’s 18th birthday.
“Having been a minor at the time,” Miguel’s lawyer snidely posits to the Judge at a pre-trial hearing, “this case should be sent to Juvenile Court.”
“We will charge him as an adult.” the ADA promises.
“Sorry, but the Statue of Limitations has run out on a traffic offense--”
