¿ACCEPT? ¿REJECT? CHAPTER FOUR LANCE POV I walked out of that classroom furious, first she wants me to accept her, NOT happening, then she wants me to accept her rejection, again NOT happening. I am so angry I need to go for a run. I head for the doors that lead outside when a voice comes from behind me, she's close I can feel her, I turn and face her looking concerned as I swung around with a scowl ready to rip out throats. I'm amused as she flinches slightly, “Babe, our class is back this way.” Charolette’s smile slipping slightly as I growl at her. “NO! I need to run, go to class, I will talk to you later.” I managed to grunt out through gritted teeth, her body language told me she understood and she began to back away. It really makes me happy when she whimpers and cowers away from me. Before I exhale my next breath, she is gone, scurrying away to class. “What the hell man? What's going on? I don't know why you don’t just accept her rejection or at least change classes.” Max my Beta said, he doesn't usually worry about upsetting me, we have been friends since his family moved to our pack a couple years back. We are more like brothers that bond formed fast! Glaring at him I couldn't say much aside from “I NEED TO RUN! WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!” and he just nodded and shut up. SMART MOVE! I stayed away from school for a few days, during all those days she plagued my thoughts, defiant and strong while looking meek and mild, she's not Luna material, not like Charolette, she has strength and beauty to be on my arm. Besides I might choose Charolette now, as it seems the Moon Goddess clearly got it wrong. Happy that I have raised the right decisions and making a conscious effort to ignore for right now my abomination from the Moon Goddess. A couple of changes to classes and I manage to avoid the wolf determined to ruin my life. I was speaking with Max at lunch today about how to best deal with her, we are stuck here at this school for the next three semesters, just the thought makes me groan and roll my eyes. Before lunch finished Max's mate and her posse of pompous princesses all excitedly left the area where we were all sitting, with a noise that could usually only be compared to a gaggle of geese. A glance at Max and all he could do was roll his eyes and raise his palms face up followed by a shoulder shrug. I swear he has no control over that one, she is a situation waiting to happen. The next two classes went past quickly, the notable absence of more than half she-wolves usually in class. When the teacher questioned us none of us knew anything. It however didn’t stop some dumb ass calling out, “Ahhhhh! That's it! That's why its been so quiet! Such a good lesson!” With a threat from the teacher of an entire month of detention, which made all of us groan, the teachers wicked grin showed she knew we would all prefer to give up the goods than their spending time in detention with her. After being subjected to endless questions from the stupid teacher we all finally convinced her we truly didn’t know what was going on. Max and I decided to head to the diner for dinner, we were about half way through our meal when the door burst open and the content quiet chatter amongst diners was shattered, by girls, excited girls, giggly, screechy girls. All I could do was grit my teeth and hiss, knowing the most annoying one will be here sooner than I want. “Ohhhh, Baby Boyyyy" the shrill voice of the evil vixen mate of my best friend. I honestly couldn't prevent my groan but I did manage to close my eyes before Max saw the roll of them. I didn’t miss his chuckles. I am so pleased my discomfort is so entertaining to him. I started to quietly think of ways I could prevent her from coming to our Pack, zoning out somewhat. Seems I zoned out pretty much for the rest of our meal and surprising me, Max stood and told the table we had some “Pack Business" to attend to. Choosing to go along with his antics I happily slid away and out of our booth, eagre to get out of here. “Pack Business?” I questioned my friend as we got into the care and leaving the diner far behind us. Driving to the industrial district we made our way to the old abandoned office building that we have claimed and use for ourselves, tucked away amongst abandoned factories and workshops. Admittedly I wasn't sure why the quiet trip, Max had said nothing since we got into the car. Getting out of Max's car I complained that sports cars are not really suited to our larger builds. “Quit your bloody grumbling!” Max snapped. Now I can hear the irritation in his voice. “What the Fuk man?” I snapped back at him, I knew something was bothering him at the Diner he mind-linked me to say he needed to leave. The sound of Max's phone sliding into the tension, I could hear their conversation, it's not like the bimbo speaks without a shrill trill to crack open our ears. Max: “What do you want?” Max was a little curt when asking her. Bimbo: “Have you found our Gift?” her question stilled us both. Max: “What gift and from who?” he asked the crazy b***h on the phone. Bimbo: Oh! Didn’t you go to your little ‘man-den'?” Max: “Why? What is there?” Max's frustration reaching a new level or pissed off! Bimbo: “Ohhhhh, you must be close, on the bench out the front.” Her voice taking on a slice of wicked, accompanied by her posse all giggling like children. “Let's just say, its a gift for our future Alpha, from the girls and I. She prattled on. Max: “What have you done?” he asked exasperatedly. Then we hear it, a noise, not loud but loud enough with wolf hearing. Max and I made our way around to the front of the office. On the bench was their ‘gift'.
