Setting Him Straight

I sat with Max at his desk as different members walked in and out of the office as I lean into Max as I rub the bump that was started to become more prominent. I watched as Issak walked into the room and looked me over as if I did not belong there. This had been happening a lot and it would always cause Max to become almost feral towards him growling till he left.

Max's head popped up and he glared at Issak.

"If you are here to give Dower those dirty looks your corpse will be found at the bottom of the ocean," Max growled and wrapped his arm tight around me.

"He should be at home not here in the office as if he belongs with us and is one of use but I have yet to see his mark," Issak growled as he started to lunge towards me.

 Max lunged toward him as he pushed me behind him as he made contact with Issak's chest.

I screamed and other men ran in as they stopped in the doorway and watched as Max started to punch Issak in the face before stood once Issak was unconscious. Max walked over to me and kissed my lips softly before turning to his men.

"Issak disrespected the place of the mistress and my mate. Let this be a lesson for all of you that if you disrespect Dower you will be disposed of." Max declared as he walked over to me before continuing, "Dispose of him in the ocean with cement shoes."

"Understood Boss, Mistress Dower is our loving lady and should be treated as a treasure, not are if he is an outsider as he is family." A young man said with black hair over his left eye stepped forward.

"That is correct Yuri and you will be in charge of protecting Doe," Max said and I stared at him as he turned to me, "This is for yours and the safety of our pups."

I nodded and I stood and looked at the men.

"All of you must have your opinions of me and I can imagine that you think that I am going to change everything. I am here to make all of you stronger and prepare the next generation to take over our legacy." I said with a small smile.

Max nodded and pulled me into his side as he pressed a hand to my growing belly and everyone stared.

"He tried to attack the mistress while he is with a pup that is not okay," Yuri said grabbed Issak by the shirt and dragged him out of the room.

The rest of the men followed and were all growling.

"You know that they have come to love you as a member of this Mafia family you know Doe," Max said kissing my head.

"I hope that it lasts and that they accept the pups as well," I whisper as I hold my belly.

"Well, they already accepted you and the pups are apart of you and a part of me."
