Interview with My Russian

I sat on my bed looking out my window and I saw in my reflection the dark circles under my eyes and my usually pale skin that made me look even more exotic then I was. My father is American and my mother, on the other hand, was Japanese. I loved the mix as I looked more exotic than a normal American leaning a little bit towards my Japanese roots.

There was always something that I did wrong and that could be me eating something fatty and would make me gain some well-needed fat to my lean body. My parents always said that no one would like a fat mate and take the food away. I have never had cakes and sugary snacks like my siblings.

Today was the start of the interviews and I was hoping one of them would be my fated mate and treat me better than this hell. I knew that I was smarter than most people and it was hard to keep it a secret.

"Dower are you ready yet?" my mother yelled through the door.

I stood from the bed in the Kimono that she had given me and I had my long black hair pinned back.

"Yes, Mother I am." I stood by the door waiting for her to unlock it and release me from my prison.

"Good because the first suiter is here to see you." She said as she opened the door.

I only nodded as she leads me down to the dining room and points to the chair by my father. I sit and look across the table and I see a man that looked like he wasn't from here America.

"Ah, you must be Dower you are more beautiful in person than your photos your mother gave me." He said with what I could guess was a Russian accent.

"It is nice to meet you," I whispered as I looked into his silver eyes as his light ice blonde hair fell over one of them and I felt a tug at my heart.

"My name is Maxim and you feel that connection don't you Dower?"

I nodded as I reached a hand out to his when my father slapped my hand away.

"What connection?" my father asked.

"We are fated mates and I will be taking him from you tonight," Maxim growled when he hit my hand away.

"But we have not set a price for him yet." My mother cried.

"That is not my concern you have miss treated him and more and I will only give you half the price because you are ill-fit parents," Maxim said in his Alpha voice causing me to lean my head to the side to submit to him.

My parents looked at him as I got up and walked over to him.

"That's right my beautiful mate you will want for nothing and raise our beautiful babies," he whispered as he pulled me into his arms causing me to melt into them.

"The price we want is 5 million for him." My father said

"Then half it or else you will be turned into the authorities for selling your child," Maxim said pulling out his cheque book from his jacket pocket and started to write the cheque out.

"We will take it." my mother said shaking in fear of people finding out that they had a secret child.

"Now take him out of here."

Maxim stood with me in his arms and carried me with a bag of my stuff my parents packed out of the house before a fight broke out over me. He walked to a black limo where a driver was waiting to open the door for him.

"Sir you found your mate huh?" the driver said as he opened the door.

"Yes I did Mik and he is beautiful once I get some weight on him since he is underweight from those people, and have the lawyers tell the police what happened here today," Maxim said as he set me on the seat.

"Of course sir," Mik said as Maxim got in beside me and kept me close as Mik closed the door.

I cuddled into Maxim and I could not help but feel safe for the first time in my life. Maxim rubbed circles on my bed as we started to drive away from my prison.

"Dower what is your highest education?" He asked as we drove.

"Grade 12 as I just graduated," I mumble.

"So we will get back to Russia tomorrow and you will be safe with me there."

"I've never travelled outside the town."

"I will show you the world and treat you like you should be not like your parents"

I nodded as I held onto him as I fell into a sound sleep for the first time since I became a teenager.
