“No one, huh? Somehow I doubt that’s true.” I watched as the smirk grew on his lips, spreading like infectious cancer into my soul. God was he beautiful, his glance alone was enough to send my body into luscious chaos.
“Sophie” I muttered shyly, expecting my face to burn red hot with embarrassment, but the heat never came. Maybe it was because I was no longer alive. I guess that was the best explanation. “Who are you?” I whispered. He grinned at me again, his gaze doubtful and cautious.
“Why, I’m Edgar, of course, Allen Poe, I’m sure you’ve heard of me”. I rolled my eyes, his point was easily made by the sarcastic, exaggerated tone of his voice. He knew I was lying, darn. I guess there went any chance of mystery I had in the moment.
“Okay, Okay… You got me, it’s Ivy.” I watched as his head nodded in approval, like he’d known the answer all along. I glanced around the room, really taking in my surroundings for the first time. He must have found my identification in my clothes… I looked down horrified as the realization came over me like a dense fog on a riverbank. Oh god, my clothes. I wasn’t wearing them. In their place was a dark crimson button-up that loosely clung to my curves. I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to shield my body from his gaze. He must have…my eyes widened as I shot up quickly, sending myself hard into the dark grey wall next to the bed, realizing I had no pants on either. He threw his hands up instinctively, as if to shield himself from my wrath. “You undressed me! You perve!” I picked up the crystal lamp on the dark oak bedside table, and chucked it as hard as I could towards him. He laughed as he caught it swiftly with one hand before it smashed against his chest.
I gasped, feeling around for another object to chuck at him, but it was too late, he tackled me to the ground, sitting lightly on top of me to pin me down as I writhed and struggled to get free.
“Alright, that’s enough.” He cooed, as if he was speaking to a child who was throwing a mid-sized tantrum in a grocery store. “SELENE COME HERE PLEASE!”
I watched as a small, Hispanic woman entered the room. She couldn’t have been taller than 4 feet, nearly as tall as he was in his current position on top of me. She had short dark hair, and full bangs that almost successfully hid the dark red scar that covered most of her delicate features.
“Yes sir? What can I do for you?” She batted her eyelashes at him, it reminded me slightly of an obedient dog, awaiting his commands with the utmost loyalty and respect. Maybe adoration? She looked at him as if he were a messiah of sorts. It really creeped me out, what kind of show he was running here.
“Ahhh Selene, my darling, I’m going to let Miss Ivy up here in just a moment, and I would like you to explain what happened to her clothes.” Selene nodded, and he smiled as he gently removed himself from on-top of me. Something I found I was sadly missing as I sat up, awaiting the explanation he had promised me.
“Master Felix brought you in quite bloodied, miss, you were a dreadful mess. Once he,, erm well, you know what he did. I took you and got you a nice warm bath. After all you’d been through quite the ordeal, I wanted you to feel less mutilated and dirty. I brought you back here and got you changed, but you're much too tall for my clothes. SO I had to use Master Felix’s. He didn’t see you though, miss, I made sure of it. Ma-Mister Felix is quite conservative.” She beamed down at me as I slowly stood from my now crouched position against the wall. Master? Was she calling him master? What was she? His slave?! This was appalling!
“Now, Selene, no need to lie on my account, she’s quite wrong, I’m not that conservative.” He smirked at me, as I felt a small wave of temptation flow over me. I bit my lip gently, feeling my k9s dig deep into them as I winced from the pain. He smirked again. “Yeah, you’ll get used to those. They are quite wild at first, popping out at the most inappropriate of times. When we are happy, sad…” He closed the gap between us, towering over me, smoldering with intent. “Horny” he bit his lip gently as well, causing a sigh to escape my lips as I felt my head swoon. Holy cow was he attractive. It was as if his features were carved out of smooth white marble. I swallowed, attempting to gather my thoughts as my gaze melted into him like warm metal. No, he’s gross, he’s a slave driver CHILL! My brain was wild with accusations, but it was silenced by the cool stroke of his hand against my cheek as he brushed my golden brown hair behind my ear.
“Yes, master, I apologize. I only meant that you would never impose on a lady without her permission.” She beamed up at both of us as she nodded towards the door. “I had Gerald fetch the Misses some clothes from the upper ground. He should be back any moment, Master”, Felix nodded. Glancing back at me, and then to her again.
“Very well, Selene, if you wouldn’t mind bringing us a small snack while we wait. I’m sure our guest is quite… famished.” Selene nodded and turned instantly to trot out of the room. The moment without his intense gaze was enough to steady my resolve. I stepped back slightly, the motion causing his focus to shift.
“Master huh? What kind of kink is that?” I spat, his eyes widening as his grin did the same.
“Ah, you noticed that, did you? I apologize, our customs must seem a bit strange in the eyes of what just hours ago was a human. Pay no mind to it, it doesn’t mean what you think it does, I’m sure.” I scowled, being quite a equal opportunist myself. I couldn’t quite come up with a better explanation than the one I had.
“Or perhaps it’s exactly what I think.” I hissed, avoiding direct eye contact with him as my focus drifted back into the streets around me. I plopped back down on the bed. Even if I wasn’t too fond of the situation, it’s not like I could go anywhere, I clearly couldn’t control myself right now. I took a deep breath into my stale lungs, my eyes closing as I let it out, my mind focusing again on my surroundings. I opened my eyes again and he was sitting in front of me on the bed, Selene bopping into view over his shoulder with two wine glasses, filled close to the brim with red wine. He started to speak but paused as he sensed her presence.
“Here you are Master Felix, Miss Ivy, O negative, its quite fresh. I just fetched it this morning.” I swallowed hard as I realized what the red crimson liquid actually was. I could feel my eyes darken, my mind clouding with a red haze, voices, 100s of them blood blood blood, the chanting throwing me into a fit as I lunged across the room for Selene. I couldn’t control it, couldn’t stop myself from the frenzy. I wanted it. I NEEDED it, and no one was going to stand in my way.
