MIRA DAVIS

The weather was good today. I was on my way to the airport. I'm finally meeting my mother after 4 years. I'm from India. I moved to Italy 8 years ago to continue my further studies. These past 4 years have been very hard for me. I loved Italy but it seems that Italy didn't love me back so 4 years ago I moved to Beijing, China with my boyfriend and his brother. I'm Mira Davis. I am a 28-year-old Indian businesswoman who runs a perfume company called Sweet Lilac. My company Sweet Lilac gained a large amount of success and popularity in countries like China, India, Italy and other foreign countries.

My thoughts were interrupted with the ring of my phone unlocking my phone I smiled as I saw a familiar name.

Jason.

My boyfriend and yes he is the famous actor and singer Jason Wu. You might be wondering, how did I meet Jason? Well, it's a story for some other time. Picking up the phone and placing it near my ears I spoke

"Hey, babe"

"Hey where are you, I woke up and I couldn't find you?"

"Oh yeah I'm on my way to the airport"

"Why are you at the airport?"

"Jason, don't tell me you forgot?"

"Forgot? What? Ohhh today your mother is coming, right?"

"Yes, you're so forgetful, Jason"

"Yeah that’s why I have you, to remind me about these things"

"Just get ready"

"Yeah sure, see you soon"

"Bye"

He can be forgetful sometimes. I wonder sometimes how he remembers his lines? I was waiting for the plane to land when I heard an announcement.

*Announcement...Ladies and gentlemen Flight number 4A2314 India to Beijing will be arriving shortly on Terminal 3B and not terminal 4A*

What 3B? Ugh, I have to run I just hope she doesn't go anywhere. After running for like seven and a half minutes I reached terminal 3B and I saw my mother waiting for me as she waved her hand in the air. I ran towards her and gave her a tight hug.

"MOM" I screamed while hugging her tight.

“Oh my dear, how are you?” she asked patting my back.

“I’m fine how you are? I said as we broke our hug.

After greeting each wither at the airport we're now headed home... We were talking about random things when he suddenly asked me.

"So tell me about your boyfriend,” she asked with excitement on her face

“Ok so his name is Jason Wu he is an actor and singer he is a very good person I met him when I was working in Italy and after that, we started crossing each other’s paths and eventually fell in love,” I said while smiling like an i***t I was reminded of the old days.

“Interesting....” We were interrupted by my mobile phone ringing. Looking at the screen. I picked up the call as it was James.

“Hello, James, what's up? I asked

James Wu, he's the major shareholder of my company and also the company's secretary and my boyfriend’s brother. If something happens to me James will take over the company.

"Mira, hey can you come to the office for some time and I know you are on a leave today but it is urgent and I need your signature on some papers, I'll leave the papers with Mr Zheng please sign them today," He said as I groaned in frustration.

"Ok hold up,” I said

Tilting my head to look at my mom I said

“mama we need to go to my office. They wanted to sign some papers. It'll only take a few minutes so can we stop there first?”

"Yeah sure," she said.

"Ok James leaves the papers with Mr Zheng I'll stop before coming home."

"Ok I'm also on my way home I'll meet you there"

"Yeah sure see you at home" With that, I hang up the call and drove to my office.

Walking inside my office building everyone stood up as I was the CEO. Walking inside my cabin I sat on my chair while my mother was busy admiring my cabin. Soon we heard a knock.

*Knock Knock*

“Come in,” I said.

I saw me, Zeng, waking in as I said.

“Yes Mr Zeng tell me”

“Yes mam these are the papers you just need to sign on them,” Mr Zeng said while handing me the papers.

“This is my mother,” I said,

“And mom this is Mr Zeng he is the company secretary”

“Hello Mrs Davis”

“Hello Mr Zeng”

“Ok, so these are the only papers I need to sign right?”

I started signing the papers

“Yes Mam this is all”

“Ok here it is all signed” I handed him the papers

“Thank you, mam,” he said while taking the papers

“You’re welcome,” I said as he left my cabin.

I was about to leave when a woman came into my cabin without permission she slammed the door open. She was panting very badly she was running.

“Mira turns on the news fast,” She said as I looked at her with a confused face.

“Why what’s wrong?” I said

“Just turn on the news,” she said.

It is Julia. She is my best friend and the company's lawyer. We are sisters. I always make decisions after talking to Julia. I and Julia go way back. We've been together for 8 years. When I left Italy she came with me to support me. She is family. Picking up the remote I quickly turn on the news channel.

“Breaking news the famous Italian mafia Albert Delfino and Carlos Delfino were attacked last night and are now admitted in Irene hospital in Palermo they probably had many enemies and we don't know who did this. According to our current sources, Albert Delfino is on a ventilator and he is serious. The bullet seems to have damaged his heart very badly and therefore they are going to monitor him closely. Carlos Delfino on the other hand is conscious now and he doesn’t seem to be hurt badly. He will be discharged tomorrow morning. What will be Carlos's next step? “Can I talk to you for a moment alone? She said

“Sure,” I said as I looked at my mom. She understood

“I'll wait outside,” She said and left my cabin.

“It is true whatever they are saying Albert and Carlos were attacked by HIM” My eyes widened at this statement.

“That Guy? Are you sure he hasn’t made a move in 4 years so why now? I said.

“Do you want me to book tickets for tomorrow?” She asked. I don't want to go there after what happened 4 years ago.

“No,” I said

“Why not? They are your family Rosaline”

“Rosaline died 4 years ago I am Mira and I have no family have you forgotten what happened 4 years ago” I growled.

“I have not and nor I ever will, but he is your father and your brother.”

“You should also go, he is your father too” I screamed in anger

“No, he is not my father” she screamed back at me.

“Neither he is my, my father died 10 years ago”

“Still you should go”

“I am going, but home and not to Italy, I have a brother and a boyfriend who is waiting for me at home and I don’t want to die.”

“Italy is your home Rosalie I mean Mira”

“Home?*I chuckled* Italy was never my home, Julia and it will never be my home.”

*Italy*

“Sir, please lay down or else the stitches will come out,” The nurse said while trying to calm him down.

“No, I want to see my father” Carlos yelled.

“You can see him tomorrow sir,” the nurse said.

“No, I want to see him now” he yelled whereas the nurse flinched at the sudden voice which interrupted their conversation.

“Carlos don't be stupid ”A guy in a black suit was leaning against the door.

“Tell her Sam they won't let me see padre(father)” Carlos tried to explain.

“You shouldn't see him now, calm down Carlos,” Sam said as he told the nurse to leave the room.

“I don't know anything I want to see him”

“Carlos calm down brother, It was him I know it,” Carlos said with anger building up in him.

“I know I called Julia she will talk to her,” Sam said assuring Carlos with a smile.

“Are you sure she'll come?” He asked with a confused.

“Yes I am, because we all know she's the only one who can defeat HIM”
