Chapter Twelve Liada’s first boulder fell short. It slammed into the dirt and rolled ten meters to hit the wall, but it did no damage. She maneuvered Obolus to push the machine twelve meters closer to the wall. The next boulder hit the wall just a few meters from the gate, shaking loose the top two layers of stone, but they didn’t fall. Arrows and spears arched over the wall from inside, hitting the dirt and trees, but no one was injured. Liada’s next shot hit in almost the same place where her previous boulder had weakened the wall.
