The voice was low, but I knew immediately who it was. A muffled sound escaped me. I struggled instinctively, twisting my shoulders and trying to pry his hand away, but his grip tightened. My back collided with his solid chest. “Relax,” he said, the voice whispered close to my ear. My heart raised so loudly it drowned out everything else. The hospital entrance was only a few meters away. I could see people passing through the sliding doors, patients, nurses, visitors carrying plastic bags.
