My Contracted Cinderella

Chapter 13.

The Night came and there was still no change of attitude from Jayson. I was impressed.

Anytime he walked passed me, I just smiled as he walks away.

"Dinner is served, my Lady!" He said as he directed me to the dining table.

"Ohh. Okay.Thank you." I replied as I walked to the dining table.

"Wow! You made this yourself?" I asked in surprise.

"Yes! I did." He replied in a happy mood.

I was happy for him. At least he moved from being a grumpy man to being a kind man.

After we had finished eating, he asked me if I enjoyed the meal. And I answered him and said,

"Of course I did!. You are not that bad at cooking."

"Okay, Thank you!" He replied.

"And there's no need for the tossing of any coin tonight, I'll sleep on the couch and you'll sleep on the bed, Okay." He added.

"Ohh, okay," I said.

"I think I'll be going to bed now. Good night." I said as I left the living room to my bedroom.

"Okay, dear! Good night" He shouted as I walked away.

'Wait! Did he just call me dear?' I asked myself as I walked up the stairs.

"Yes, I did, and don't be surprised!" He said.

The next morning came and he still didn't change.

Just then, he received a phone call from Fred saying that the company is running at a huge loss.

And that if they don't fix it on time, the whole company might be affected and the name 'AHEAD FINANCIALS' might not be heard again.

This got into him. The calm and kind-hearted Jayson was no longer kind. He lost his temper and started shouting,

"Leo, You caused this! I hate you! I hate you, Leo!"

At this point, I didn't want to say anything. Because he would transfer his aggression to me. I just left the room and went to the bathroom. Where I took my bath.

When I came out, he wasn't there anymore. So, I also left the house. But, before I left the house, I thought of where he could have gone.

And I decided to go to the office because He would not have gone to Leo's house again. I knew that he went straight to the office.

On reaching the office, I met Jayson holding Leo by the neck. I felt like going to stop him but I reasoned that his hands would land on my neck if I did so.

I just stood there and watched Leo so helplessly I couldn't do anything and I could see Leo almost passing out but there was nothing I could do about it.

It got to a point where I couldn't hold myself from stopping him. I just quickly went to Jayson and pulled his hands off Leo's neck.

And then, I gave him a very dirty slap on his face. I didn't know what came over me and why I did it. But I felt like that would bring him back to his right senses.

But, that was a big mistake on my part. After slapping him, he turned and started staring at me in some kind of way I didn't understand.

The only thing I did was run for my life in order not to get beaten.

"I'm. I'm sorry. I'm sorry!" I said in tears as I ran out of the office.

At that point, Jayson was losing control of himself. So, he started shouting,

"I hate all of you! You all ruined my company!"

"But we made this company together!" Leo shouted back.

"Don't you dare say that to me! You low-class human!. Yes! you are a low-class human, I made you remember the fact that while we were younger, You and your family could barely eat a complete square meal. Just being we attended the same school, does not make you any closer to my league. And for destroying my company I won't let you get Scott free. It's either you are going to pay dearly or you live my life for good!" He said with anger as he left the office.

At the time I left the office, I didn't know what to do anymore. The only option that was in my mind was to go to Lala's place again and I just stopped a taxi and told him the direction I was going. In the taxi, I said to myself,

'Why! Why, Bella, why did you slap him? You shouldn't have done that. Everything was going perfectly according to plan and now it has all gone down the drain. I shouldn't have said a word while I was there.'

The fact is that I cannot control myself whenever I see something going wrong around me.

Finally, I got to Lala's place. When I got there, the first thing I did was hug her.

"He did it again Lala! He lost control of himself again!"I said while crying as I ran to hug her.

"Ohh Not again!" She said as she brought out her arms to embrace me.

"I'm so sorry my dear! Did he hit you?" She asked.

"No. But he tried to." I replied.

"Ohh My..." As she concluded her statement I interrupted her and said,

"I was the one who hit him. I gave him a very sounding slap."

"Ahh!" She said in surprise.

"But it was for a good reason!" I said.

"How good was the reason that made you raise your hands to him?" She asked.

"He was about to strangle Leo, His best friend to death! So, the only way I could stop him was by slapping him. I didn't do it on purpose!" I explained.

"Ohh okay. I understand. But you shouldn't have gone that far. You know how Jayson can be." She said to me,

"Yes But, I thought he had changed for good after the last incident. Whereas he promised me that it was not going to happen again."I said.

"I'm sorry my dear. I apologize on behalf of my grandson. Bella Rush. Please forgive me and this time around, I give the will to leave. You have tried to manage my Grandson for this long. Once again, thank you for staying with him even though.." I interrupted her before she could continue and said,

"I will still stay no matter what and I will stick to the vows we made on our wedding day. And also, on the day I signed a contract with Jayson, he didn't tell me the terms and conditions that were attached to it. I signed out of rush and excitement. He told me after signing the contract that backing out was one of the laws attached to the contract. At first, I didn't understand what he meant by backing out. So when I asked, he told me that he meant that. On no account will I be able to back out of the contract no matter what happens. When I found out, I was heartbroken. But I moved on. So, I'm not gonna back down now or anytime soon. I said as I stood up and wiped the tears from my eyes and I told myself,

'Bella! get hold of yourself, he is your husband, so you have to help him no matter what happens he is still your husband and you have to act like his wife and save him from this situation ok, so wipe your tears and go and help your husband' Then I got up and told Lala,

"I'm going to find my husband and save our marriage whether it's fake or not. And then I left the house and I saw Lala smile behind me as I walked out.

I knew where he could go and it's either he goes home or goes to the bar and I know the bar he usually goes to and luckily for me, I met him there already drinking and I went to him and tapped him on his shoulder and he turned and looked at me and asked.

"What are you doing here? Why did you come after me? After you raised your filthy hands on me and who told you I was here"

and I was looking at him with tears in my

and said,

"Jayson, look at me!Why do you behave like this? I never wanted to slap you in the first place. It was because I couldn't stand the way you were holding Leo by the neck and saw his eyes closed. That's why I slapped you. I. I never meant to slap you I'm so sorry please forgive me I won't do it again please, please I'm so so so sorry" I said while kneeling and he looked at me and said

"It's ok I know how you feel and it was all my fault. I shouldn't have reacted the way I did, I forgive you for the slap you gave me and I deserved it because it brought me back to my senses and I have realized the mistake I made and I'm sorry for the way I shouted at you" Then he gave me a sign to stand up in his drunken state.

Which I did and I didn't expect what happened next which was when he hugged me and said in my ears

"Thank you Bella and thank God for bringing you into my life, thank you so much" And I was so shocked I didn't know what to reply to him I just opened my mouth and said.

"You..you are well.. welcome, yeah! you are welcome," I told him in confusion.

"We need to go home now because we have a lot of work to do and we have no time to waste ok" he nodded his head and said

"Yes we should" Then we left the Bar and we went home.

When we got home, I showed him the pictures I collected from Lala's house and he told me all that had happened. I felt sad about what had happened in his past and he said.

"I'm supposed to do more than my dad and now I more worse than him I can't do anything straight, I can't think of a great plan and I can't even hold my company together, I'm a very bad person. I wonder why you are still with me."

"No! Don't speak ill about yourself. It's bad. And I can say, for you to bring down your flying horse and apologize to me, us a very, very good thing." I said while he stared at me in a very weird way.

He was still drunk. I'm not sure he even understood what I was saying.
