The Change...
After our luggage finally came, and I had my bath and got changed into my nightwear. The silence was still on with Jayson.
I tried my best to cheer him up, but he was too grumpy to be cheered up. He was always looking for ways to taunt me and get angry at me.
Sometimes, I wondered if he was ever going to get married.
Then, I'll rethink it and reason whether I'm the one responsible for him getting married or not. Because that's what I'm being paid for.
When it was time for us to go to bed, He entered the room and told me to leave. And then I was like;
"What! but..but, you've not gotten your money from your Grandmother. So why the rush. I'll do better I promise. Please! you can't do this to me. I'll..." Just as I was about to conclude my statement, he shouted.
"Shut up! I just wanted you to leave the room for me to sleep alone and not break the deal. Besides, I must get my money before allowing you to leave my life."
"Oh, Okay. But it's unfair the way you treat me at times. And! before you can sleep on this bed alone, we must toss a coin." I said as I brought the coin out of my purse.
"Hey! This is a new house so, I have every right to drive you out of the room. So get out!" He said as he pulled me from the bed.
"No! Let's do a coin toss. I'm not leaving here!" I said as I jumped back on the bed.
"I said Get out!" He shouted.
"Or are you afraid of losing a simple game to me? Hmm.." I said trying to change his temper for that night.
"No, I'm not! I always win." He said with a little brightness on his face. And I replied to him back by saying.
"But, you lost to me the last time we played this game at the old house. Never mind, let's play it again and whoever wins tonight, gets the chance to sleep on this new bed and the loser goes to the couch as usual."
"So, are you in?" I asked, seeing that his mood has lightened up a little bit.
"Yes, I'll play." He replied.
"But! this time around, I'll be the one to toss the coin and I'll also take the heads part." He added.
"Okay. Go on!" I said while handing over the coin to him.
"1 2 3! Hmm.." He said as he tossed the coin.
"Ha ha ha! I won again, I took the tails to the part right?" I said as I jumped on the bed.
"Yeah. You chose the tails part and I chose the heads part. Congrats, you have a chance to sleep on the bed once again." He said as he threw the coin sadly on the bed and walked away.
"I think I'll sleep at my friend's place. Bye." He said as he left the room with two of his traveling bags.
It was as if he wanted to go and never come back.
"Ahh! Lala! what are you doing here!" I heard him scream, so I had to go down to see what was happening.
It was Mrs. Magret again!.
"Jayson. Calm down, I just came to give you the house keys! here take them." His Lala said to him.
"Okay! thank you." Jayson replied.
"Where is Bella? And where are you going with these bags?"
"Emm.. nowhere. And as for Bella, she's.." He said as he turned to the staircase. Lucky for him, I was already down.
"Oh, Lala! you again, what are you doing here?" I said while going to hug her.
"Bella dear. I just came to drop the house keys off with you guys. I've given it to Jayson and where was he heading to." she said to me.
"Well, he said he wanted to go and get our luggage from the old house right?" I said while looking at Jayson with my eyebrows up and then he replied by saying
"Ohh yeah that's where I was going".
"Well don't worry I already assigned someone to bring your luggage for both of you okay. So you don't have to go anywhere besides, it's the first night that you guys are to spend together in the new house". Lala said and I looked at Jayson's face to see how he reacted and I could see the disappointment in his eyes because now he could not go out to sleep at his friend's house.
"Maricel, the keys give them to Jayson," Lala said to her maid
"Ohh yeah, the keys thank you for bringing them Lala," Jayson said while hugging her and I said.
"Okay Lala, thank you Lala" and I also winked at her meaning the plan is working fine.
"Okay I'll leave you guys to sleep now, bye love birds Good night," Lala said as we both hugged and she left.
As soon as she left Jayson gave me a very weird look and I laughed mischievously then we went to sleep.
He slept on the couch as usual and I slept on the bed.
It was already morning and our things had already arrived and Lala called us with a video call on Jayson's laptop. She said that she wanted to talk to us.
"Good morning Jayson!How about a morning kiss to your wife." Just then, Jayson dragged me closer and pecked my cheeks
"Okay, Lala we have to go now because our luggage has arrived and we need to sort them out. We will talk to you later Bye Lala!".
"Okay bye Love birds," Lala said as I ended the video call. She was always calling us love birds and I don't know why.
"These things are becoming too much, something is fishy here," said Jayson, and then I replied by saying.
" What things are becoming too and nothing fishy is happening here. I'm just doing my part of the deal and that's it."
"The thing I'm talking about is the fact that Lala is always coming to the house. It's becoming too much and I think she comes for a purpose". Jayson said while looking at me mysteriously and I said
"Why that look, whatever you think that's your business and I think there's nothing wrong with it ok."
"And before I will forget, in addition to the rules and regulations, if you ever try to complain about any decision I make I will donate either your shirt or your trousers to the orphanage," I said while smiling
"What! no, I disagree with that. The rule is stupid and I know you can't even try it" he said.
"Ahh, you are complaining". I said while trying to pull his shirt and he shouted.
"Ahh! no no get your hands off me". And I said,
"Hmm, you are still complaining?" I said this while also trying to remove his trousers and he shouted again.
"No no no! not my trousers. I agree with your rule".
"Good boy!" I said while laughing and he replied by saying
"Yeah thanks but can you get your hands off me now"
"Ohh yeah, I forgot," I said as I removed my hands from his trousers.
"Yeah thanks and I will be going to work very soon, so if you know you want us to arrange this house you have to be fast with whatever ever you are doing in the kitchen okay"
"Yeah I will," I said while raising my eyebrows.
After we had finished arranging he just took his bath and left for work without even eating and I had a plan.
I called one of his best friends and told him to stall him so that he won't go to work and he did as I said.
When I got to his place of work, everyone there greeted me like a Governor's daughter. I asked his other best friend where his office was and he showed me and I sat on his office chair. Suddenly, he showed up and said,
"What are you doing here? and why are you sitting on my chair and using my laptop" I replied by saying
"For your information, Mr. Hamilton I'm your wife so I have every right to your office and your work and besides you are 30 minutes late to work don't come to work late again ok".
"What! I don't understand" he said
"I will explain later but time is money, so it's time to work! work work work!". I said as I went back to the chair.
While we were working, his friend came and was like.
"Jayson, what about the ads? Uncle Cito is already asking for the ads. What are we going to do now?
"Don't worry so much about the ads, I will get them for you. Jayson said.
Just then, my phone rang and when I checked it, it was my father calling so I asked everyone there to speak Chinese only.
Because, before leaving my house, I lied to my father that the Movie is going to be shot in China so he won't bother me or figure out that I'm still in the same country as him.
I told him that the contract I got is for acting and it's going to take a long time. So now, he doesn't even have any idea that I'm still here. He thinks I'm in China.
So I answered the phone and I said,
"Hello Good morning dad, How have you been? Dad, you know what, I am at work now so, when I get back home I'll speak to you ok." I said.
"My dear. Something very terrible has happened to your Nephew." My father said,
"What! what happened?" I said in a state of fear because I hated it when my father was not in a good mood.
"While playing basketball, he fell by mistake and broke his arm. And now, the doctor has asked us to take him for surgery. And the amount that was called for us was too big for me to handle alone. So, if there's any way you can assist us please do so because, Right now, your nephew is in a lot of pain." My father explained.
At this time, my mood changed because my father was not happy. And my nephew was in pain.
So, Jayson noticed that my mood had changed. I was surprised, he walked up to where I was standing and said.
"What happened and how is your father?"
"My father is fine. It's just that, my nephew had an accident while he was playing basketball. So, they asked him to go for an operation but my father does not have a lot of money and I too have not received my first payment. So I don't know where..." Just as was about to say it,
"Don't worry, I'll pay for it and I'll go with you to give him the money." He said.
"Okay. But, if you go with me will the plan not be ruined?" I asked.
"No. I'll be going as your boss and then when we get there, I'll speak in Chinese so he won't suspect. And one of my friends will go with us." He replied.
"Okay. So we'll leave tomorrow." I said as he walked away from me.
I was happy because I saw my plan coming to pass. The plan was to make his heart soft again.
