Chapter Seven - Running away from Danger

Three days later from the uneventful day, Esmeralda built a shelter on a tree branch that was six feet high from the ground and it was wide enough to hold Esmeralda from falling. With all that werewolf strength of hers, she was able to build her shelter with sticks, branches with leaves and dry grass. She was well fed on last night and there’s no need to hunt in the morning. She went to sleep and slept all night comfortably in her homemade bed.

The next morning, the sun started to rise and the birds started to chirp with joyful sounds. Esmeralda asleep, still in her werewolf form, staying warm under her shelter, you can tell she had a nice sleep. Nothing bothered her throughout the night and she was not ready to get out of her comfortable bed. The sun shining down on her face, she was welcomed to start a new day. Waking up but still with her eyes close, she did not want to get up. She was lying down peacefully, listening to all the creatures around her. She was already enjoying her morning.

All of a sudden, the birds stop chirping and the whole forest was quite. Esmeralda’s ears perked up, trying to figure out why the forest is quiet.  Something or someone was nearby. Then Esmeralda wakes up to the sounds of footsteps and crunching noises, not far from where she was resting. 

Eyes wide open; Esmeralda scans around and speaks to her wolf in her mind, "Star, someone’s here." 

Esmeralda quickly sits up while Star says, "I got your back. It's just one Rogue. I can smell him; disgusting." 

At that moment, Star took over Esmeralda's body because Esmeralda did not want to deal with a Rogue right now. So Esmeralda was now in the back of their mind, sitting there staring out into Star’s eyes. Still, in wolf form and upon the tree branch, they waited quietly looking down in their surroundings. Very hidden from the Rogue, Esmeralda watches and soon sees the Rogue moving in closer.

"I see him," said Star. The Rogue in human form comes closer to where Esmeralda is at. He sniffs the air and then looks straight at the tree knowing that Esmeralda is at that tree, he picked up her scent. It looks like Esmeralda forgot to cover up her scent before going to sleep. The Rogue smirks with a net in his hand, Star jumps down from the tree and growls at the Rogue. She’s watching every move of his. 

"What do you with me, Rogue? Don’t come any closer," said Star. With a net in his hand, he throws it, trying to capture Star with it but was very unsuccessful. Star moved to the side fast before the net landed, she was too fast for him. Then she ran as fast she can when the Rogue threw the net again at her. She escaped then stops running from a small distance from the Rogue and growls at him. 

The Rogue said, "if you must know, I am Dale McKnight, best friends with Alpha Rogue. He has sent me to capture you and take you home with us. We all heard about the legends and my dear, cost a lot of money. Alpha Rogue has great plans for you, darling. So be so kind and let me catch you. We have food, water and a nice place to say." 

Then Esmeralda talks to Star in their mind, "what legends is he talking about, Star? 

"I will let you know about it, as soon as we can get away from this Rogue," said Star to Esmeralda. After Esmeralda agreed with Star in their mind, Star stares back at the Rogue in the eyes without even blinking and continues with their conversation. 

"My goodness, is that all you want, money," said Star?

"Hey, I get paid to track wolves down. But you have a great amount on your head. Today is just my lucky day," the Rogue says with a giant smirk on his face, ready to attempt throwing his net again to catch her. 

Then Star continues, "well try catching me then. Sike!" She ran off as soon the Rogue threw the net one more time, almost capturing her but she was still too fast. Star was sprinting far away from the Rogue while Esmeralda was still watching in their minds. 

The Rogue speaks; "I will capture you, soon or later. You can’t run away from me. You are worth so much more then you think." The Rogue yells from far away from Star’s current location. Both Star and Esmeralda were still able to hear his last remarks. 

"Good luck," said Star! Off she goes, far away from the Rogue. He may be good at tracking her down but not fast enough to catch up to her. This time she covered her scent.

Noontime came around when Star finally stopped. They have been running since the sunrise and now they are hungry. 

"I’ve used up all my energy for running and now I’m hungry," said Star. So they continued walking until they heard a waterfall nearby. The first thing that came through Esmeralda’s mind was fishes. Quickly, Star picked up her pace and jog towards the sound of a waterfall.

There it was a beautiful waterfall full of power splattering water as it touches the bottom lake. Roses and flowers spread around, rocks and logs decorated the lake. It was very beautiful. Star’s jaw was wide open and Esmeralda said to her, "close your mouth or you’re going to have fly's for lunch instead". Star quickly snapped out of it and ran towards the lake, jumping in to take a nice swim before fishing. 

"Oh, the water feels so good," said Star while swimming and diving deeper into the water. Once Star was all freshened up, she began to fish by staying calm in the water waiting for her first prey. Soon she spots a huge fish; diving in for it she captured it with her jaw. Swimming out of the lake with a fish in her mouth, Star was so proud of capturing the biggest fish she had ever caught before. 

"I am so proud of you, Star. Next time you should let me give it a try. I would like to learn too," said Esmeralda Knight. They ate the fish and decided to take a nap, knowing that danger was gone for now.
