“Jacob had mentioned that you came here bleeding and being chased by rogues with the intention of sexually harassing you.” Larry continued, the concern audible in his stiff voice catching me off guard.
“Y-yes. T-that’s right,” I stuttered, moving my eyes away from his.
“That’s the reason why you’re pregnant,” he announced without any hint of hesitation.
The same guilt and frustration I'd felt having this conversation with Jacob was once again present. Having everyone believing me when I was lying was the worst feeling I could have.
Hiding my shaking hand below the table, I took a deep breath and tried to force myself to calm down. It looks like I would never get used to talking about this. Knowing damn well, I was lying to them.
