Chapter 2

The Celebration started off with the females dancing. They picked a large meadow to set up the large canopy-like tents. The women all dressed to catch attention from the glancing men. There was a huge fire centered in the middle of everything. Tables of food and wine were placed on either side. Of course I wasn't dressed like the other women. Their clothing was eye catching. The rags I wore you wanted to look away from. I guess that was the point. "Oh Bane, dance with me baby." One of the red headed females coxed Bane into dancing. He was sitting with a couple of his males. He eyed her, taking in her revealing clothing. I then saw him glance over at me. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I was in the corner carrying a wine jug for those who needed refills. I went over to him and started to pour more wine into his glass. "Ugh why did she have to tag along? She's nothing but a tick. She leeches off us." The red haired female said scrunching her face up at me. I bite the inside of my lip as I glanced at her. I took a deep inhale,"Refill?" I asked, in a too nice kind of why. "You know, you should be thankful we took you from that retched place. Ugh, you still reek of it." She fanned her hand in front of her face. "Thankful?" I said through my teeth. I felt my grip on the jug tighten and then heard a slight crack from it. I glanced down, I had broken the handle of the jug. "Well of course. Honestly did you really think that pig shack was a home?" She started to laugh with her friends behind her. I was biting my cheek so hard I could taste copper. I looked up above them and saw a chandelier dangling above them, beckoning me to drop it on there heads. My eye's swayed as it dangled above them. "Hey!" The red head snapped her fingers in my face. "Earth to Moon Head!" I leered at her, then pretended to walk away but purposely bumped into her spilling the wine on her. I let go of the jug and put my hands over my mouth and gasped. "Oh no! I'm so sorry!" I said as I leaned down to pick up the pieces of the broken jug. "Ugh! You b***h!" The red head screamed, then throw her leg back to kick me. "Ay!" Bane grabbed the girl and pulled her back. She squirmed in his arms as her eyes glowed yellow. "I'll kill her!" She screamed. "Knock it off!" Bane said to her. "It was an accident." "Like hell it was an accident! She did it on purpose!" "Enough!" Bane's voice bellowed into the night and everyone went quiet. His eye's shifted from green to red. "Apparently I made a mistake bringing you here." He said then grabbed my arm and lead me away from the event back towards the castle. He then whirled me around. "Look. I've had it up to here with your spiteful attitude. Knock it off." He demanded, he was digging his nails into my arm. "You haven't seen spiteful yet." I hissed back to him. The Moon was full and my powers were at a deadly level. "Go on, try and f**k with me. I dare you." I got in his face. I could feel the moon's energy running through my veins. Bane's eyes narrowed at me and he met my energy equally. "You know it's getting harder and harder not to let my pack have there way with you and I promise you, you won't be alive for very long if they do." "I. Don't. Care." I spat at him. "You did this. You took EVERYTHING from me!" I screamed in his face. Bane and I had our foreheads pressed together in a heated argument. "Bane!" Someone said from a far. He glanced over to them. "Neil is hurt!" My head turned to the voice who called out to him and Bane sprinted towards him. Out of curiosity I followed him. Once we got there, I saw a man on the floor convulsing. "What happened?!" Bane asked, leaning down to the man turning him on his side. "I don't know he was fine drinking with us an then all of a sudden he collapsed." The man said. The whole pack looked scared now. "Oh my god, what's that!?" One of the females shrieked as she pointed out black tendrils snaking their way up the man's neck. They looked like veins. Bane retracted his arm over the man. I leaned in to take a closer look. This was not just any kind of sickness. Someone poisoned him with black magic. I started scanning the pack. Someone was a witch dressed in Lycan clothing. Black magic Coven's were a black hole on this earth. They stole powers from others to support their own magic. I glanced at Bane. His hand was back on the pack members shoulder trying to hold him still. Then the convulsions stopped and black ooze flooded out of his mouth. Bane looked away, his grip on the man's shoulder made creases on his shirt. "He's gone. Who was his mate?" Bane asked. "He never found her sir." One of the female's said. Bane took a deep exhale. "This looks like witchcraft." Finn boldly standing next to Bane. My eyes shot up at him. He glared at me, then pointed at me. "You. You did this." He growled. Bane stood up, then looked at me not saying anything. Then the whole pack started to agree. "Yeah, It was her! She killed him to get back at us!" Now they were in a uproar but Bane only looked at me as if he were searching for a clue. I looked back at him. "I don't do dark magic. This has nothing to do with me." Bane turned back to the body on the ground. "Events over. Everyone get to the castle until I say other wise." He said. "But Bane she could be lying to you! That's what witches do they lie!" Finn said still trying to pin the blame on me. Bane grabbed the front of Finn's shirt. "I'm not in the mood to argue. Get to the castle now." He said with a low growl. Finn stared at him for a second then turned around. "You heard what he said! Move it!" Finn said as he turned to the pack. They all moved out leaving me, Bane and the body alone. Bane racked his hand through his bedhead hair. It was nape of the neck length but had curls like whipped cream. "Black magic you said?" He asked not looking at me. He leaned down to the male on the floor again. "Yes. This type of magic sucks the life from you and gives it to the person who stole it from you. It's deadly." I said. "So this could happen again? Shit." Bane stood up and looked at me. "Do you know how to prevent it?" I scoffed."Yes, but I'm not helping you. Not after what you did." I said still feeling hatred festering underneath my calm demeanor. "My pack will suffer Lucia, they aren't strong enough to withstand something like this." "GOOD!" I yelled and turned away from him. How dare he ask for my help when he slaughtered my family. He had some nerve. "What if I make a deal with you." He said. I slightly turned my head towards him. "Any deal you have won't change my mind." I said. "I think it would, because it includes your freedom." My heart fluttered at the sound of those words. I turned around towards him. "You would let me go?" "Only if you help me wipe out this sickness or whatever this is out of my land and kill the bastard who took his life." He said with immense hatred in his voice. I looked down at the body of the man who died. He looked like he was no younger than a man in his 20's. This was unsettling for me for some reason. I might of been angry but I wasn't that cold hearted... I turned to Bane. "Fine. I'll take your deal. After I help you rid yourself and this pack of this sickness. I'm free to leave." Bane nodded his head. "That was the deal I implied." "So if you wanna start somewhere you might wanna start with your pack." Bane's brows pulled together. "Why would I do that?" "Because whoever is doing this, is already here in your land and probably part of your pack."
