"The immortal guard"
After hours of walking through the forest, they felt as if someone was following them.
“Don’t you guys think someone might be following us?” Marcus asks in a low voice
“Do you think you can ask or you know, see whoever’s following us?” Angelo turns to ask Samara
She quickly closed her eyes for a while as she continues to walk slowly
“Wait” She said “I think it’s some sort of a guardian…”
“A what?”
“What kind of guardian?” Jasmine asks
“A lion…” Samara said as she opens her eyes.
As they faced it together, chills going down to their spines as it stood in front of them.
“RUN!” Angelo shouted as they started to run away and went under a gigantic rock to hide.
Their hearts pounding loudly inside their chest as they tried to catch their breath.
“What was that?” Marcus asks
“Wait…shh” Samara hushed them as her headaches strikes again
“We shouldn’t hurt him…” Samara said
“How are we supposed to get pass through it then?” Jasmine questions
“I guess we have to confuse it” Marcus said
They ran all together separately in different ways to confuse it.
Kenzi, Angleo and Marcus went left as Jasmine and Samara went right. But the creature had decided to chase Jasmine and Samara
“We should help them!” Marcus said as they followed them while both Jasmine and Samara ran away
As they continued to run, they met an unexpected gigantic rock that led them to a dead end
Samara uses her power as the spirit of Persephone took over her and controlled the roots of the trees that had surrounded them and trapped the lion with it.
But as she did so, the creature couldn’t be restrained as it turn into smoke in the air.
They stepped back, closer and closer to the rock as they were now trapped once again.
The spotted Marcus and the others and unfortunately, the lion spotted them too.
“Don’t worry! We’re coming” Marcus shouted as they ran closer.
“Just don’t harm the lion” Samara shouted back
As they lion saw that help was coming for his prey, he directly turned his direction towards the two as he attacks them.
As he did so, Jasmine had already trapped her and Samara using her frozen powers and created a shield for them
“That was close” Jasmine said
“Yeah, that was smart of you” Samara said
The lion roared angrily and tried to break the ice.
Since he couldn’t break the ice, he turned around to chase Marcus, kenzi and Angelo
“Come and get us” Kenzi teased. The lion almost caught up to them so Kenzi controlled the ground and lifted them up so they could fly for a second
Kenzi made a floating island for them to and in the air.
“Woah…” Angelo said with fear
“Be careful, we might fall” Kenzi warned
“Are you sure the lion won’t catch us?” Marcus asks
“I-I don’t know, we won’t know If we won’t try” Kenzi replied
“Angelo, check where the lion is”
Angelo looks to the ground and tries to locate it, but it was nowhere to be found.
“W-where is it? It’s gone! The lion’s gone” He said
The friends looked with horror as the angry lion flew right in front of them
“The lion can fly?!” Kenzi exclaimed
While Samara and Jasmine’s Ice was slowly melting, they had to think of a plan quickly.
Samara’s headache strikes again as Jasmine looks at her worriedly.
“Samara? Samara!” Jasmine shouts as she shakes her after she had passed out
“I have a plan” Samara said
“What plan?”
“Just…follow me” She said. Jasmine broke the ice shield as they approached their friends
“They’re coming….” Marcus said
The lion took a deep breath….
” Jasmine, ice!” Samara said as she quickly builds them an ice shield before the lion’s fire breath could burn them.
The lion became angry once more and tried to melt the ice down. “What should we do?” Angelo asks
“I have a plan!” Samara yelled as their eyes turned to her
“We have to prove that we were sent here by the spirits of season and that we’re the ones in the prophecy!” She spoke
“Hey whatever creature you are!” Jasmine shouted
“We were sent here by the spirits and they are guiding us right now!” She added. The ice continued to melt and they needed to think fast.
“Guys! Come down” Samara yelled
Kenzi slowly lifts their island down while the lion continues to follow them, melting the ice much faster.
“We won’t be able to get down safely, Jasmine’s ice shield is melting faster.” The ice develops cracks and became much thinner.
“Get down!” Marcus said as the ice finally breaks, leaving them no protection. The lion’s fire breath hit Kenzi since she didn’t have any time to protect herself, making her unconscious
Their island went falling fast “Samara! Catch them, quick!” Jasmine yelled
Samara was quick enough to catch them in time and tied the roots back safely to the ground. “You guys, okay?” She asks them as they got up.
“Yeah, but I don’t think Kenzi is” Marcus said
They lied Kenzi unto Samara’s lap as Angelo created a fire around them, so the lion wouldn’t be able to approach.
“Believe us! We are the ones written in prophecy” Marcus yelled
The lion got mad as smoke started to flame out of his nose. The smoke got bigger and bigger and the lion disappeared into the smoke.
“W-what happened? What did it do this time?” Samara’s voice shivered
“I think it’s going to be much worse this time….” Marcus said
The lion appeared and spun fast around them that it increased Angelo’s fire around them.
“Please stop and listen! We were sent here by the gods and goddesses to save the world of Kairoa” Jasmine yelled
“I don’t think it will listen” Angelo said
“No kidding, sherlock” Jasmine rolled her eyes and let out a sigh as she sits down next to Samara.
“Then why did you even bother trying”
“Guys I don’t think this is the best time to fight” Marcus said
The lion continued to spin around them fast that they were currently surrounded by a tornado.
“Well, this is the end for us” Angelo said as he dramatically falls to the ground and lies down.
“No, it’s not” Marcus said as he tries to get pass the spinning tornado but it instead throws him away and hits the tree.
“Are you that dumb?!” Angelo asks as he approaches to help him
They couldn’t do anything at this point instead, hope that it would all go away
“I’m fine…” Marcus said as he stood up
“You’re clearly not” Jasmine commented as he tries to walk
He once again approaches the walls of the tornado and tries to get through it
“Yup, you haven’t learned your lesson yet”
Angelo said, he threw his hands into the air and sits beside his friends.
Marcus gave all his strength and managed to successfully push through the tornado.
“Guys…I did it!” Marcus said ecstatically as he stands up from the ground.
He turns around to find the tornado glowing from the inside.
“Guys…?” He approaches them slowly. The silhouettes showed the four friends holding their hands together and glowed together.
Marcus widened his eyes and took a step back as he watched their light exploded.
The spirits of the season showed their forms to the lion and went back into the bodies of his friends
The lion calmed down as Marcus approaches his friends.
“What happened?” Samara asks
“I’ll explain later on” Marcus said as he helps her. The lion approaches them and they backed away.
“Don’t be afraid” The lion spoke
“It can speak?” Marcus asked
“No, it was just your imagination” Marcus gave her a glare and Samara took it as a sign to shut up
“I deeply apologize for not believing you when you told me you were sent by the spirits of the seasons. Also, for the fact I tried to hurt you” The lion said
“What are you?” Samara asks
“My name’s Zhoaripus, and I guard the portal” He replied
Meanwhile, the others started to be conscious again.
“Guys…what’s happening?” Kenzi asked
“Don’t be scared, he’s with us” Angelo said
“Once again, I am so sorry for scaring you” The lion said
“You were just simply doing your job to protect the portal, we understand that” Jasmine said
“Where’s the portal though?”
“Follow me” It said
They followed the lion and after a while, Kenzi’s wounds started to burn and hurt.
“What’s wrong?” Angelo asks after Kenzi screamed in pain.
“I think it’s her wounds” Jasmine said
The lion began approaching her “Your wounds are getting worse…” He spoke “Samara, only you can heal her” He said
“Huh? How? Why me?” Samara doubts
“You have the spirit of the goddess of spring, she can heal wounds” Zhoaripus said
“But, how can I use it?”
She turns to Kenzi and focused on trying to heal her wound. The wind blew as she tries to heal it.
“Get away from Samara, she still can’t control her powers” Zhoaripus said
The wind blew stronger and many leaf floated and it spins around.
A leaf touched Kenzi’s wound and starts to heal it. Samara lost her balanced and fell to the ground.
Jasmine helps her stand up
“I’m fine” She said
“That was a good job, Samara. You can control your powers now” Zhoaripus said
“Is my wound better now” Kenzi said as she looked at her wounds that were still covered
in leaves
“You still have to wait until they become dead leaves to remove them” HE said
They continued to walk as Kenzi began to wonder how Zhoaripus knows a lot of things. So, she asked him
“Because Persephone used to do that too whenever someone was wounded” He said
“Persephone? Who is Persephone?” marcus ask
Zhoaripus lets out a loud laugh “You guys don’t know her?” he asks
"persephone! she is the goddes of spring ,right?" samara said
They look at each other in confusion as he proceeds to tell them.
“yess,She’s the goddess of spring that’s in you. She gave you her powers” he said
"how did you know it? zhoaripus ask
"I studied greek mythology before." samara said
“Then, what about us?” Angelo asks
“Angelo has Auxo, Jasmine has Khione, while Kenzi has Carpo, those are the gods that are in you” He proudly said
“And oh, what are you doing here?” He turns and asks Marcus
“Oh…we’re a group of friends, and I just followed them” Marcus replied
“You can’t follow them into this quest, you don’t have any powers and that can cause trouble” Zhoaripus said
“But…. but they’re my friends! I can’t just let them go into this all alone”
“Well, I can’t really harm you. I admire your bravery and thoughtfulness about your friends, just be careful”
They continued to walk silently until they arrived at a cave
“It’s so dark here…” Angelo said
“Obviously, it’s a cave, what did you expect?” Jasmine mumbled beside Angelo
Kenzi picked up a stick and lit it up to create a small torch as they continued to walk.
As they proceeded to walk, the road of the cave went downwards, but Zhoaripus never said a word about it.
They looked around and found drawings on the walls and rocks of the cave and they were amazed.
Jasmine took her cellphone out to take a pic but zhoaripus suddenly ask
“What are holding?” He asks
“A cellphone…?”
"what is that?" zhoaripus
“ It's a futuristic devices to communicate with someone else from far places. you dont know it since they aren’t invented yet in BCE” Angelo said
“You’re surprisingly smart” Jasmine said
Angelo glared at her “I’m being honest this time” she said as she put her hands up in surrender.
They continued to walk until they arrived at the very end of the cave
“So, where’s the portal?” Angelo asks
Zhoaripus pointed at a rock that shaped somewhat circular. The friends looked at each other with confusion. And before anyone could ask anything, Kenzi, Samara, Angelo and Jasmine lit up as the spirits of the season came out of them.
“Is that the thing that had been inside of us?” Angelo whispers behind Jasmine
“Wait…. where are they going?” Samara asks
“They’re going back to the underworld, since they need to open the portal up.” Zhoaripus explained

“Where are they?” Hades asks to himself as he walked back and forth.
“Don’t worry too much, they will come soon” Makaria said
Makaria was about to approach her father when the lights went out and a loud thud was heard.
No lights in the underworld? Weird….
