A woman was running in the hospital corridor with a pale face. He entered the room where a bastard man was lying covered in wounds. The doctor looked at her, giving the woman a chance to come in to explain the patient's condition.
"Are you Caitlin?" asked a doctor.
"Yes, I am. How is he doing, doctor?" asked her.
“He mentioned your name at the last moment, but I'm sorry we can't do much. "We share our condolences," said the man, shaking Caitlin's hand and leaving.
The body lying there was Axel Calvin, Caitlin's ex-husband, who was a bastard. Her ex-husband was a drunkard, gambler, and often rude to her. Now he lies stiff with a body full of wounds from a car accident.
The woman was silent, her face was cold, and she looked at her ex-husband's face with empty eyes.
On the other hand, a soul that has just emerged from the body is confused. It was Axel's soul, he screamed, he cried in fear and wanted to come back to life, but he realized that now he was dead.
Axel did not expect that he would die so tragically at a young age. He still finds it hard to believe that his life ended so ridiculously.
“So you're gone, you're a loser after all! I was a fool to marry you!" she said harshly.
Axel's soul could still hear it, he felt angry and disappointed to hear that.
“Yeah, I'm a loser! You must be glad I'm dead!” Axel answered.
“You jerk, you are evil! You even died on our anniversary! The day we got it when you promised that you would be faithful and treat me well!" Caitlin shouted, starting to get hysterical.
Axel was shocked, he fell silent, looking at Caitlin. She started sobbing next to his body.
"Why are you so stupid, Axel? You are stupid! But why am I more stupid than you? With all your attitude towards me, I still love you very much! You never cared about me, our children, you were just drunk and rude!” cursed the woman, still crying.
Axel was silent, he started crying, he knew he had an awful life. Long before he became a jerk, he was a man who loved his wife, he became a drunkard because he was fired from his job. He was frustrated because he couldn't get a job right away and instead became a drunkard and gambler.
His economy was getting worse, and because he didn't want to be a burden on Caitlyn, he divorced her. Caitlyn refuses to get a divorce, but in a drunken state, Axel slaps her instead. The man was very desperate, but a tragic death came to him.
"Oh God! Why did I waste my wife and children? Why can't I be a stronger man? Why was I so stupid and chose the wrong path? I regret all this!" said Axel's soul with a cry.
Caitlin's crying began to sound louder, and Axel, who was already feeling down, became even sadder.
“Caitlin, please don't cry! You are beautiful and so precious! Don't cry over jerks like me!” Axel said regretfully.
Unable to hear what Axel's soul was saying, Caitlin continued to cry and hugged Axel's injured body.
“Axel, come back! Please, don't die! Don't leave me! What should I say to Filio and Fiona?” Caitlin shouted very sadly.
“Caitlin, stop it, please. Dear God, if I could change the time! If only you would give me a second chance! I will change! I will make this woman happy! I want to make my children happy!” sobbed Axel's soul as he sat kneeling beside Caitlin.
The figure of a creature in a black robe came and in a flash made Axel scared. He was very sure that the creature was an angel who would drag him to hell.
“Stupid human, you regret it after you die! Do you think it's useful!” said the voice in a terrible whisper.
“Don't take me to hell! I will change! I will be the new Axel Calvin! "I will be a person who can make my wife and children happy," said Axel, asking for forgiveness.
"Nonsense! Follow me!" The drag of the black shadow-like creature made Axel unable to move.
He could only cry, looking at Caitlin, whose voice was getting farther and farther away. He didn't move when, in the blink of an eye, he was above the sea of fire which was a boiling hell.
“Please God, forgive me! Give me one more chance. "This is not for me, but for Caitlin. I want to be a good man who can make her happy, I want to see her smile," asked Axel, who was begging.
The scary creature that was grabbing him began to fall silent as if he heard something that made him pull Axel's soul away from the fire again.
“Humans are troublesome! But you are so lucky because God listened to your request, do your best if you don't want to see me again in hell!" said the scary creature, throwing Axel's soul into a hole of light which made him wake up again in the world.
As if blown away and shocked, Axel opened his eyes. He woke up in his friend's shabby rented room, right on the morning before his death. It was the morning after he woke up from a night of drinking and planned to go out to spend the rest of his money on gambling. He even borrowed his friend's car keys without permission. He didn't know that his friend's car brakes failed and caused his death that day.
The man started touching his face and his hands. There were no injuries. He saw his friend who was fast asleep with the car keys beside him, the same as that day.
“Gosh, what is this? Am I dreaming?” asked Axel, shocked.
Axel decided to get up, he took his friend's car keys and started to get into Steve's old car, which was parked in the yard. Axel didn't want to drive it, he wanted to check the engine. More precisely, in the brake area. The man started to be shocked when he saw that the car's brake cable was almost broken. He tried to step on the brake pedal and the cable snapped.
"Good grief! I'm not dreaming, I'm back from the dead!” Axel muttered with goosebumps.
