Ruthless - Chapter 4: Dangerous Games
Abir, lost in his thoughts, was being pulled with surprising strength by Charvi toward the car outside. She pointed at it desperately, her actions pleading for him to understand.
Suddenly, realization struck Abir. A devilish smirk spread across his face as he taunted, "You want to meet your brother, don't you?"
Charvi nodded vigorously, her wide, desperate eyes shining with hope.
Abir's smirk deepened. Without another word, he led her to the car and drove off.
The Toxic Castle
The car screeched to a halt in front of a grim, fortress-like building known as The Toxic Castle. Abir got out, taking long, deliberate strides toward the entrance, with Charvi following closely behind.
He led her down to the basement, where Saksham was confined in a dimly lit room. The sight before them was harrowing- Saksham, shirtless, was on his knees, his eight-pack abs glistening with sweat and blood from various wounds. His disheveled hair fell over his eyes, and he looked utterly broken.
For a moment, Abir's eyes gleamed with twisted satisfaction.
Hearing footsteps, Saksham slowly raised his head. When his bloodshot eyes landed on Charvi, his voice cracked with disbelief, "Charu! Beta, you're... here?"
Before he could finish, Charvi rushed to him, throwing her arms around her brother.
Saksham froze for a moment before gently holding her. When Charvi pulled back slightly, she gazed into his eyes and whispered softly, "Happy birthday."
Saksham's eyes shut tight, his heart overwhelmed. For the first time in six months, he had heard his sister's sweet voice.
Meanwhile, Abir stood a few steps away, his eyebrows furrowing as he watched the emotional exchange. His mind churned. How dare she? This girl didn't utter a single word to me, but here she is, speaking to him?
Charvi didn't say anything more to Saksham. After wishing him, she remained quiet, her expressions unreadable.
Abir's thoughts raced back to what he had heard about Charvi's struggles. Saksham had taken her to London for treatment, but Charvi had stopped eating and speaking, protesting her forced departure from India. In desperation, Saksham had brought her back, not knowing the chaos that awaited-his sister's broken engagement and his best friend turning into his worst enemy.
Suddenly, Abir's cold, wrathful voice cut through the air. He grabbed Charvi's arm and yanked her away from Saksham with such force that she stumbled. Pulling her close, his face twisted in anger, he growled, "You've got a lot of attitude, don't you? You don't know who Abir Arya is, do you, wifey? But don't worry-I won't keep you waiting long to show you my true self, my devilish nature."
Saksham, consumed by rage and desperation, screamed, "ABIR ARYA! You won't lay a finger on her! Or I swear, I'll become your worst nightmare!"
Abir's eyes filled with contempt as he sneered,
"You've already proved what a hypocrite you are, Saksham Singhania. When it's about your sister, you're writhing like a fish out of water. But you never thought twice about someone else's pain, did you?"
Saksham clenched his fists, his body trembling. Tears streamed down his face as
he choked out, "I will kill you, Abir Arya. You won't hurt my Charu. You won't-"
Before he could finish, Saksham's breathing became labored, and his body gave out. He collapsed, unconscious and lifeless.
Abir watched him for a moment, his eyes devoid of emotion. Then he turned his furious gaze to Charvi, whose wide, tear-filled eyes looked back at him. His temper flared once more. Grabbing her face roughly, he snarled, "Only when the pain you've inflicted on others comes back to haunt you will you understand the agony you've caused."
Half an Hour Later
Charvi was now back at Abir's house. No one else knew about her presence except for Abir. She had been taken to the exclusive floor shared only by Abir and his sister, Anvi. The rest of the mansion was off-limits.
Abir had brought Charvi to his room through a secret elevator. Despite the chaos she had endured, Charvi sat quietly, blinking her big, innocent eyes. Her face betrayed no fear, no sadness-only calm curiosity.
Abir, growing frustrated by her eerie calm, left her alone to attend a business meeting in his study.
