Chapter Title: A Twist of Misunderstandings
Abir stepped into his room, his mind swirling with chaos. He tore off his shirt and entered the shower, letting the cold water cascade down his tense body. Yet, the voices of Anvi and Charu echoed incessantly in his ears, frustrating him to no end.
How can Anvi speak so lovingly to the person responsible for her trauma? he thought, clenching his jaw. His frustration reached its peak as he punched the wall, leaving a faint crack. He took a deep breath, ran his fingers through his wet hair, and leaned against the wall, trying to calm his raging mind.
Meanwhile, in Anvi’s room, Charu and Anvi were still holding each other tightly.
Anvi pulled back slightly and asked, “Samarth?”
Hearing the name, tears welled up in Charu’s eyes. She choked on her sobs and replied, “Abir sir has kept him captive. I don’t know what feud they have, but my brother is suffering.”
Anvi’s face mirrored Charu’s worry. Charu’s tears spilled over as she whispered, “It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t dragged you and my brother into that meeting, none of this would have happened. I’m so sorry, Anvi.”
Anvi couldn’t bear to see Charu like this. She hugged her again and said, “Charu, it wasn’t your fault. You didn’t know things would turn out this way. I’m just glad you’re safe and here with me.”
Charu felt a small measure of comfort in Anvi’s embrace, but her resolve only grew stronger. I need to get Samarth out of this mess. Abir can keep me here, but my brother deserves freedom.
---
After calming herself, Charu decided to confront Abir. She knocked softly on his door, and Abir turned sharply, his narrowed eyes meeting hers. Charu’s heart raced as she took a deep breath and said, “Can we talk?”
Abir observed her for a moment, then gestured for her to enter.
Charu stood before him, her voice trembling. “I want you to release my brother. He hasn’t done anything wrong. You can keep me here—I’m your wife now—but don’t punish Samarth for my mistakes.”
Abir leaned back, his jaw tightening. “Are you sure your dear brother is innocent?”
Charu nodded firmly. “Yes, he didn’t do anything.”
Abir let out a bitter laugh. “You’re blind to the truth, Charu. My sister’s trauma stems from that night, and the only ones present were the three of you. Who else could be responsible?”
Charu’s eyes widened. “What? That’s not true! Anvi knows exactly what happened that night.”
Abir slammed his hand against the table. “Enough of your lies!”
Suddenly, a soft voice interrupted them. “Abir bhai…”
Abir froze. His eyes shot toward the door, where Anvi stood, her presence like a beacon of hope after months of despair. She wore a simple blue crop top and black trousers, her loose ponytail swaying as she entered. Abir’s tough exterior cracked momentarily as he saw her—the sister he hadn’t heard from in months.
Anvi’s gaze met his, then drifted to Charu, and a small smile appeared on her face. Tears glistened in her eyes as she approached them. She sat on the bed, looking at her brother and then Charu.
“Bhai, Samarth didn’t do anything. What happened that night was a mistake—a foolish plan by me and Charu,” she confessed, her voice steady but filled with regret.
Abir’s confusion deepened. “What do you mean, Anvi?”
Anvi sighed heavily, glancing at Charu before continuing. “Charu and I planned something reckless. I wanted to meet Samarth because… I liked him. We hired fake goons to create a scene, hoping Samarth would come and save me. It was childish and stupid. Samarth didn’t even know about it until Charu dragged him along.”

Flashback:
“Charu, are you sure your grumpy brother will come to meet me?” Anvi asked over the phone.
Charu’s voice was confident. “Don’t worry. You don’t know your ‘Jaanu’ well enough yet. He’ll do anything for me. I’ll emotionally blackmail him if I have to, and he’ll agree to whatever I say.”
Anvi laughed nervously, cutting the call and pacing in her room. She couldn’t believe how far they were going for her silly crush. She had planned everything down to the minute, including hiring some harmless actors to play the role of goons.
Charu, on the other hand, was in her brother Samarth’s room, trying to convince him to accompany her.
“Why now, Charu? It’s getting late. Can’t it wait until tomorrow?” Samarth asked, not looking up from his laptop.
“No, bhai! My friend is in trouble, and she needs help now. Please come with me. I’m scared to go alone,” Charu pleaded, her eyes welling up with tears.
Samarth sighed and relented, closing his laptop. “Alright. Let’s go. But this better not be one of your antics.”
After a while, Charu and Samarth were driving down the route leading out of the city. Charu, feeling increasingly nervous, kept glancing at Samarth, wondering how her brother would react when he learned of the prank they had planned.
The truth was, Samarth was Anvi’s crush. Anvi had always liked him but had never found the courage to tell him. So, together, they concocted this ridiculous plan. They hired goons who were supposed to harass Anvi, and in the midst of all the chaos, Samarth would make a heroic entrance, saving her. Then, Anvi would confess her feelings to him, thinking that the whole ordeal would somehow bring them closer.
But what they didn’t realize was how this little bit of foolishness would spiral into a huge mess later.
Meanwhile, Anvi stood by her car, anxiously checking the time. She was waiting for Samarth and Charu, glancing at the clock again and again. The goons she had hired were supposed to arrive 20 minutes later, and she was getting a little worried. What if they showed up after Samarth? Their plan was that the goons would try to harass Anvi, and then Samarth would arrive just in time to save the day.
But to her surprise, the goons showed up much earlier than expected.
She hadn’t met them before—she had only dealt with them over the phone—so she didn’t know what to expect. As she looked up, she saw 6 or 7 men approaching, all of them riding in a jeep. Some of them were holding beer bottles, and loud music blared from the vehicle.
In her mind, Anvi couldn’t help but think, What kind of ridiculous goons did I hire? They don't even know how to follow instructions. I told them to be 20 minutes late, and here they are already. Samarth hasn't even arrived yet. What are they going to do now?
Making a face at the situation, she continued scrolling through her phone, hoping to get an update from Samarth about his whereabouts.
