Alpha Conri POV
Aurora and I just found out she was pregnant. It had been 2 months since she lost the twins she had most likely before she got pregnant. That is the only thing I can think of that would match the timeline. I guess the moon goddess thought this was a great match and a good time for us to be having a baby now. We were still taking care of Aurora, and I was hoping that this would be OK. I worried about her being pregnant with poison still being in her system.
The doctor said he was confident that if she stayed this week, and she continued the blood transfusions and continued taking all the medicines they were giving her, this baby would survive. I just hoped the doctor was right. He ordered the ultrasound, but unfortunately the ultrasound tech wasn't available with it until tomorrow morning, around 9 a.m. tomorrow. I was looking forward to seeing our baby. Talk about surprises!!!! I knew Aurora was scared, even though she didn't show it too much.
I intend on doing some of my pack duties while here at the hospital so I can stay with her. My Beta stayed with the Pack so he could make sure things kept running smoothly and used my phone to make sure that my beta knew I was still paying attention to those who were coming and going. I made a few calls to make sure all the cameras were up and operational to full capacity and that the new cameras had been added. It was late at night and the doctor brought in another hospital bed for me to sleep next to her. After about 30 minutes, I was able to finally fall asleep. I woke up feeling her moving around, and I of course, woke up pretty fast.
Aurora was eating breakfast, and they were just bringing mine in when I woke up with the nurse bringing in a tray of food and a thermos full of black coffee. I was looking forward to it. Aurora was sipping on some sprite since she was feeling the morning sickness. The nurses and doctors came in and at about 8 a.m and were able to finally remove the IVs. They wanted to see how she would do without the extra blood and extra fluids. She seemed to be doing pretty well, and they were just watching her, and they allowed her to change out of the hospital gown and into some easily comfortable pajamas or loose clothes.
I called Olivia, the other maid, who was able to bring some of her clothes. I had my beta escort her to the hospital with a few outfit choices for her. I wanted her to feel comfortable. Olivia wanted to get Aurora a teddy bear she had seen in one of the stores when I had to have her step in with her to go shopping. I told her that would be fine, and I would send my Gamma Ivan with her. Ivan had been gone on duty with the Army as a sniper.
He was a wolf, but he knew how to control his wolf better than most 20-year-olds can. He finally came home Sunday last week, and he was done with the Army. He did his 5 years, and he was ready to be home and settle down. I told Oliva that we would most likely be coming home on Monday, so I told her to get the bedroom ready with everything cleaned. I watched as Aurora came out of the bathroom in her favorite set of pajamas. She put on her pajama pants that had a tie on them so she didn't lose them, and a t-shirt.
She had a mirror on the back of her bathroom door, and she stood there for a few minutes with her shirt lifted up, looking at her small belly that had a small bump. She put her hand on her small bump and I could tell she was having a hard time with this. She put her shirt down and laid down on her bed. I could see she was tired, and she had just started to doze off when the ultrasound tech came into the room. She rolled her shirt up and she rolled down the top of her pants just a little bit. The nurse put some jelly on her belly and used the belly wand to see if we could get a good look at the baby.
Unfortunately, we couldn't see much of the baby, so we had to use a different ultrasound method. I know that made Aurora upset that we had to use a different method. She was very happy when we could see the baby. She was actually 9 weeks pregnant, and the baby was sitting in a weird spot, so that's why we couldn't see our baby. We asked for a blood test of the baby to be don't get the gender. She was so happy when the ultrasound tech gave us the first 5 photos of the baby.
She was going to be due around March 7th. She was having morning sickness, so I had a feeling she was pregnant with a boy. I was hoping she was at least anyway. All we could do was stare at the ultrasound photos. She was looking forward to going home soon, but this meant that I would have to make sure she was eating well, and that she had plenty of rest, and we needed to up security. We were expecting a pup now, and I had to protect him.
I texted my Gamma and my Beta and let them know that she was pregnant and that she was indeed 9 weeks pregnant. They also knew we were awaiting DNA confirmation on a boy or girl, and we all knew that this was my pup and hers, because she had only been with me the last couple of months or so. I knew she was worried about her two previous Alphas and that the whole pack had gone to being rogues except maybe a handful of werewolves. My Beta and Gamma made sure that they would increase security, and they had the maintenance people add more cameras to our house and on the other main building. If others wanted to add cameras to their houses, I had them put in a request form and I would usually approve it because a lot of times it would save them from being executed for treason or exiled. I knew this might make Aurora feel safer if I had all these up.
I just hoped everything would be alright and that she could handle this. I figured that she would do better when we went home. I was so happy to hear when the doctor came in a couple of hours later that she would be able to go home on Monday. She was doing fantastic, and we just had to watch her closely and she needed plenty of rest and to get plenty of maternity clothes and rest. After a while, she finally fell asleep, and I couldn't help but take a nap with her and cuddle up with her. She had fallen asleep in my arms when I sat on the bed with her.
