Chapter 16.5: The Elemental Zodiack

After the meeting just ended, Yoso, as well as Shiro and Kein, stayed in the meeting room of the Zodiacks, to discuss another important matter. "I understand... Because you lived in Authorania for so many years, it would be obvious that you didn't know about what Skill Classes are. Since Authorania's army relies more on catalysts than actual abilities, they don't have such things as skills, or even affinities. Even their Zodiacks differ not based on their affinities, but rather the type of catalyst they use," explains Shiro "I see... So, what are the Skill Classes after all? I heard that you said my 'Blast Burn' and 'Blast Burn: Blue' were Master and Mythical class skills. What does it mean?"  After Yoso asked about the skills classes, it was Kein's turn to step forward, as one of the best students back in the academy. "You already might know that using affinities, you have access to a large variety of skills. They are separated by the power they can output, utility and such other factors into skill classes..." and so Kein explained to Yoso, for at least 20 minutes, what skill classes are.  Skill classes: 1. Regular Magic: It is the magic that one uses first, upon realizing what his affinity is. It is the main control of the magic, meaning that it is the regular output of what one can do without an actual skill. (Take for example a fire user that can throw fireballs at people by just thinking about it, yet it is not as powerful to make it an actual skill, and can even be used by reflex." 2. Normal Class Skills: The weaker skills that can be learned by just everyone, as long as they have the affinity to do so. Depending on skill level, there are even soldiers that can only use this kind of skill class and nothing more.  3. Heavy Class Skills: Strong skills that not really everyone can use since they require a certain amount of training and life force to use. They are not as destructive as the ones above them, but they can be changed based on the dexterity and skill of the user. 4. War Class Skills: Skills that can even turn the cards in a war if used correctly, with incredible power and high Life force consumption rate. It is probable in an army of one thousand soldiers, only ten of them might have access to this Skill Class. *The Skills above Master Class are by default, also Original Class Skills, this meaning that they can be used only by a certain individual and can evolve depending on the user's skill. 5. Master Class Skills: One of the upper classes of skills that leave the boundary of normal skills. Not everyone can achieve a Master Class Skill in even a lifetime, and being able to use one can make you fit to become a high general in an army or even a Zodiack. They have outstanding power that can destroy mere soldiers and require an incredible amount of Life Force to use. (Blast Burn is a Master Class skill that once used, can destroy almost any opponent, and it is also an undodgeable skill by default. It also has the potential to destroy as many targets the user wants at once, depending on one's Life force amount.) 6. Mythical Class Skills: One of the upper classes of skills that leave the boundary of normal skills. Like the Master Class Skills, they can't be achieved by just everyone and can have the power of Master Class Skills, times 10. There are approximately 1000 people that have achieved Mythical Class Skills. Not even all the Zodiacks achieved one. They take enough Life force that a user might collapse after using this kind of skill even once. 7. Legendary Class Skills: One of the upper classes of skills that leave the boundary of normal skills. Their potency is that of a Mythical Class Skill, times 100. There are no more than 10 people in this world that achieved this class of skills. One's Catalyst might get destroyed after using this Skill Class once. 8. Forgotten Class Skills: Skills of this class are usually forbidden and even more rare than the Legendary Class Skills. They have almost infinite potency, depending on how the users use them, however they come with great costs. They don't require any Life force to use and can be used only without a Catalyst.  *Even the skills that are not used to attack and have 0 firepowers are classed using this system, based on their usefulness, rarity, potential. (A good example is Kein's Life Force Channeling that is a Master Class Skill, even though it is a support skill.) "I see! I understand now... But what about the thing with the 'Support Type'?" asks Yoso "Wait and you'll see..." says Kein just before turning his look towards the door that opened just at that moment.  Coming through it was Shouko that quickly approached the group, carrying a small box in her hands. She gave it to Yoso and urged him to open it. "What is this?" asks Yoso while dumbfoundedly looked at the content of the box. "This is the ID card we mentioned earlier. How should I say it...? It was my job to give it to you after you came back from Melyndor... But frankly speaking, I forgot." says Kein  Yoso couldn't help but look at Kein with an expression that would show how disappointed he was. "Leaving Keiny's forgetful nature aside, Yoso, place the card into your palm, and put in some Life force, just as you'd do when you'd try to find what your affinity is..." says Shiro  Doing so, The card turned on just like a phone would and showed on it details regarding Yoso's Life force stats, as well as what Type he was. "I see, I see!" says Shiro while looking at Yoso's details on his card.  Yoso's data:  Fighter/Mage Type Affinity: ??? Life Force Amount: 142.875 Life Force Control: B+ Firepower: B - S+ (Variable depending on the affinity he uses at the time.) Speed: B+ - S (Variable depending on the affinity he uses at the time.) Physical Power: A-  Rank: Zodiack - Number 3 "Some of the data such as the rank and name are updated before giving an individual his ID Card, however, the stats are given directly by your Life Force, even your Type..." explains Shiro  Kein couldn't help but feel irritated by this statement. Kein's Data:  Support Type Affinity: Wind Life Force Amount: 264.845 Life Force Control: A Firepower: B+ Speed: A Physical Power: C+  Rank: Zodiack - Number 12 "Don't remind me, Shiro..." quietly says Kein while staring at the word 'Support' on his card. "It's not bad at all Keiny... You just have to acknowledge it!" says Shiro while getting his ID card out of his pocket.  Shiro's Data:  Technique/Mage Type Affinity: Ice Life Force Amount: 352.451 Life Force Control: S+ Firepower: C+ Speed: A- Physical Power: A+  Rank: Zodiack - Number 1 (Acting Leader of Dinsfurd) "Okay! I think I finally get it!" exclaims Yoso after having his questions finally answered. "By the way... It might sound a bit harsh... But where can I learn all the names of the other Zodiacks?" asks Yoso "You just fought all of them... A few days ago!" shouts Kein "Sorry... I forgot!" says Yoso with a smile on his face.  Kein couldn't help but face-palm at because of that statement, however, Shiro pointed towards a billboard on the wall that had a recently updated list of all the Zodiacks of Dinsfurd on it, in the order of the rank. "Oh, I see!" says Yoso while quickly going towards the billboard.                              List of the Zodiacks of Dinsfurd: 12. Shimada Kein: Gemini - Wind 11. Sarus: Aries - Smoke 10. Ye Cai: Taurus - Steel 9. Alex Iulio: Capricorn - Thunder 8. Osamu Jin: Cancer - Sound 7. Ryuuen Akasa: Virgo - Fire 6. Keigo Murasawa: Libra - Poison 5. Masato Kazuya: Pisces - Water 4. Geoff Stinger: Scorpio - Earth 3. Yoso Edroch: Leo  2. Taka Tsubasa: Saggitarius - Light 1. Shiro: Aquarius - Ice
