Chapter 6

1937 Words
Celia Celia waited for the door to close before turning back onto her stomach. She let out her breath in a scream as she pounded her fists in the mattress. She hated herself for letting him get to her and even more for still being too weak to defend herself properly. She traded one master for another and all she could think was that as soon as she had Madik dealt with, she would let his brother follow into the same grave. But time was running out and she needed out of there soon. By now, Amber must have found something and she needed to know where it was before the moon was full. She flipped over on her back and took slow, deep breaths as she contemplated her choices. A transmogrification spell was out of the question, she was much too weak. Teleportation was a long shot too. She could probably manage a glamour or two, but not much else. She was stuck biding her time until something became obvious. Which meant that she had to play Blaise’s game for a while. She blew out an angry breath and decided to take another shower to wash off what he had done. Celia took a quick shower. Being in his room was driving her crazy. She couldn’t get the smell of him out of her head. It made her feel safe and she wanted to curl up into the feeling like a warm blanket, but after Blaise showed his true colors, it only made her angry that his scent still made her feel that way. It must be the wolf part of her, she thought, they were always weak with carnal feelings they disguised as love and whatnot. She couldn’t wait to get back on the street to find something that would set her demon side free. She spent her time looking through drawers and cupboards to see where he had everything. She couldn’t pull the drawer under the minibar without damaging the lock, but she knew her blade was in there, she could feel it calling. One of the perks of her demon side, even when she was weak, was her affinity to metal. It was as though it were a living, breathing entity that seemed to beckon to her. She rubbed the drawer lightly as if to tell the blade it would be in her hands soon and turned towards the opening door. “Hi.” The small brunette spoke cheerily as she entered the room with lots of bags and smiled gently. “You must be Celia. I’m Lauren.” She set the bags down on the loveseat and closed the door, making her way to Celia. “I’m Landon’s mate. He’s Gamma of the pack. Oh, well…” She said with a wave of her hand and gave Celia a tight hug, making her go stiff. Lauren laughed lightly as she let her go. “Sorry, Gamma is third in line.” She began to explain. “I know how packs work.” Celia interrupted her. “Oh, well good. That saves a lot of time.” She waved for her to see what was in the bags and Celia followed her to the loveseat as Lauren began taking the clothes out of them. “How are you liking it here so far?” Celia crinkled her nose as she c****d her head at Lauren. “I don’t know what you’ve been told, Lauren, but I’m not here willingly. And the only ones I’ve met are Blaise and Quinn, though I have seen the man Carter a couple times.” Lauren’s smile faded for a moment. “Oh, well I took your sizes from your clothes and got everything on the list.” Celia put up her hand to stop her. “What list?” “The list Alpha gave me that apparently you didn’t know anything about.” Celia’s irritation was quickly becoming anger and Lauren stopped spreading the clothes on the back of the loveseat. “Okay, so this is not exactly ideal. Landon’s definitely not going to be happy about this. Let’s just take a minute and enjoy Blaise’s liquor, shall we?” She said with a raised brow and she moved to the minibar. “Why would it matter to Landon? He’s just Gamma, Blaise can do what he wants.” Celia was saying and Lauren busied herself mixing a couple cocktails. “Oh well he used to be Alpha before we met.” She said handing her one of the glasses and sipping her own with a hum. “I love midday cocktails, plus it’ll piss Blaise off a little.” She gestured for her to follow her to the floor where most of the bags had ended up. “He was Alpha before Blaise?” Celia asked in confusion as she took a cautious sip of her cocktail. “No, not of this pack. He came here as Blaise’s Gamma to keep an eye on his sister Evelyn.” Lauren explained as she slowly took out the clothes until all the bags were empty. “Who’s Evelyn?” “Wow, they really didn’t tell you anything. She was Blaise’s first mate. Landon wouldn’t allow her to come here without him, just in case, you know, he didn’t want her to be with someone like Madik.” Lauren said and sipped her drink. Celia made a face and took a deep drink from her glass to squelch her mouth before it unloaded her thoughts. “So Blaise has more than one mate?” Celia questioned and Lauren stopped, her face weighted down with pain. “Evelyn died five years ago.” She said carefully. “I’m sorry. How did she die?” Lauren shook her head briskly. “Mmm, no. That shouldn’t come from me. I’ve already told you more than I probably should. Anyway,” She began with a smile and lighter mood. “I’ve been the only female doing work for these boys and I’m exhausted, so I’m happy you’re here. It’ll be a lot easier with someone on my side. So, the only thing I added was a couple pairs of panties, it wasn’t on the list, but I thought you would feel more comfortable.” “What about pants?” “No, sorry. He specifically wanted only dresses and skirts.” “Of course he did. Wolves are always thinking with their….teeth.” Celia muttered and Lauren let out a laugh. “Oh my god you are so right.” Celia smiled slightly at the small woman. “Here, this one,” Lauren said as she grabbed a piece of red fabric off the back of the loveseat. “is what he wanted you to wear today. I think the gold heels will go nicely.” Celia held the fabric and strappy heels she handed her and stared at Lauren. “You go try it on and I’ll mix us another drink. If he’s going to be a d**k to you, you mine as well be tipsy enough for it not to matter.” They both stood up and Celia made her way to the bedroom. The red fabric clung tight to her form and she looked herself over in the bathroom mirror. The dress slit on both sides up her thighs to the base of her hips. Even if she wore panties with it, she was sure it would show. At the top, the neckline was tight against her neck like a choker, then opened up like a window at her chest without showing too much cleavage. The thick shoulder straps jetted down crossing each breast like a built in bra, which was good because she wouldn’t be able to wear one as the back was open all the way down to the top of her ass, besides the gold-plated chains that crossed every few inches. Celia shook her head and put on the heels, then walked out to Lauren. “All I need is red lipstick and I could make a couple hundred on the corner.” Celia said. “No, no it’s not that bad.” Lauren was saying. “Yes, yes it is that bad. So you know, this was waiting at the checkout when I went to pay.” “Of course it was.” Celia said with a nod. “He is such a d**k. I had no idea. Here take this, I’ll make another when you’ve finished.” Celia took the drink and Lauren moved to start putting the clothes in the closet. “I am so sorry. I have never known Blaise to be like this.” She said dripping with concern. “No, it’s okay. He’s just punishing me.” Lauren peeked her head out of the closet. “Punishing you? For what?” “Oh I stole his wallet.” Celia smiled when her answer met Lauren’s approval. They chit-chatted threw another cocktail and gathered the empty bags for disposal, then walked down to the office together. Lauren tapped on the door with the back of her knuckles and opened the door without waiting for an answer. Blaise looked up from his desk as they both walked through. Though, he hid it well, Celia could feel his eyes bear into her with lust and he sat back in his chair with crossed arms. As Celia glided into the room, she saw Quinn and an unknown man to the left who both stood. The man had light brown hair and warm brown eyes. He looked deeply concerned as he looked at her and his eyes clouded for a moment. Lauren stepped towards him, grazing his hand as she stood next to him and Celia assumed it was Landon. The man stepped forward with a warm smile and took Celia’s hand in his. “Celia, my name is Landon. Pleasure to meet you.” He said in a deep gravelly voice as he kissed the back of her hand with a bow. Celia could feel the power emanating from him and she wondered how he could manage to step down position to take orders from another. “I’m honored.” She responded with a slight nod of her head as he released her hand. “Honored?” Quinn whined next to him. “Why don’t I get a greeting like that?” Celia smiled playfully. “Because you haven’t put your tongue back in your mouth since you met me.” Celia said patting his stomach on her way to Blaise’s desk. The drinks had made her feel warm and she loved the familiar feeling of commanding a room. Celia sat on his desk in front of him and crossed her legs, letting her naked thighs gain his attention for a moment. “Does this please you, master?” She asked loud enough for them to hear and she felt them exchange looks behind her. “You got into my liquor.” Blaise’s eyes never left hers and Celia gave a wide, feigned innocent look. “Was I not supposed to, master?” Blaise’s eyes grew dark with mischief and he breathed in through his teeth as he stood, making a slight hiss. “You like to perform for an audience, do you?” He put his hands on her thighs as he breathed in her scent at the crook of her neck. “Perhaps another show?” He began lifting the thin fabric and her hands flew to his to stop him as her blood ran cold. Blaise looked back in her eyes with a wicked smile, showing his satisfaction at winning the game. Blaise took her hand and gently pulled her off his desk, eyes still locked on hers. He turned her around to a chair he had sitting beside his. “Sit.” He barely spoke and Celia slowly sat with a straight back, hands in lap and eyes locked forward; a stance she had learned well from Madik. The temperature of the room had chilled and she fought the goose bumps as Blaise sat back down to her right. He placed his hand on her thigh possessively and looked back up at the three.
