Chapter 7

Amelia's POV

I woke up the next morning, getting ready for college. It surprised many that at 16 years old, I am able to go college. But thanks to me finishing High school earlier, I am able to go to college earlier.

I grabbed my bag pack and exited the room. I went one floor down to Nathan and Angela's room. Nathan offered to give me ride since college was a bit farther from here.

I knocked on the door when the door open revealing Angela. "Hi Amelia. Your brother is almost ready." she said letting me in. Their room looked bigger than mine. It was the Beta Chambers.

"Hi baby sister. Ready to go?" he asked as he hugged me. I nodded my head as we said bye to Angela. We went to a lift and went down. "I didn't know that there was lift here." I asked astonished.

He just smiled sheepishly. Once we reached the 1st floor we got out. We walked to Nathan truck as we both got in. As I got inside a breeze of air hit me. That's when I smelled his scent.

I looked around to see him training in the field. There were so many others, but my eyes only focused on him. He was doing combat fighting.

He easily took down his opponents. It made me proud of how strong he is. Before I can think anything else, Nathan started driving. I looked back to the front and trying to forget his thoughts.

I have to come to terms that all I am here for is the pack. We will never be anything more. But my heart doesn't want to agree with it.

It wants more. It needs more. It has this hope that one day, we will be happy together. I wished it was true. But its not. But I have decided something.

I will not give up. Once the war between the witches and us are done, I will try whatever it takes to make him happy.

I will fulfil my job as a Luna and his mate. I didn't realised we have reached. I said bye to my brother and went inside.

I went to my locker and got my things. "Boo." I heard someone scare me as I screamed softly. When I turn around it was Jason. Avery was smirking beside him.

I glared at the both of them. They started to burst out laugh. "You are so cute." Avery said to which Jason agreed.

I just shook my head and we walked to our class. It was fun being with Avery and Jason. They were so funny and were the trouble makers. They are literally the perfect match and no doubt that the moon goddess made the right choice.

In my case however it was different. I sighed getting rid of those thoughts. The entire day I spent with them, I totally forget about everything.

Alpha King, coronation, mark. I was laughing happily with them as we got caught making troubles. Soon college was over and both of them offered to drop me off.

I seriously should go for driving lessons. "So guys are y'all excited for the coronation tomorrow. There is no college for werewolves due to the coronation."

The moment Avery said this, I froze. "I wonder who is our Luna Queen." Jason add in. Should I tell them? I sighed deciding not too. Its not like they'll believe anyway.

I told them that I live in the palace with my brother. At first they were surprised. But dropped me off outside the palace. I made my way inside and finally got inside my room without having to see the Alpha King.

I quickly freshen up and wore a black sweat pants with a black hoodie. Not knowing what to do, I decided get some of my homework done.

After an hour I was finally done, when my stomach growl. I decided to get some food, but realised that I have no idea where the kitchen is.

I went to Nathan's and Angela chamber. I knocked on the door and Angela came to open it. The moment she saw me, she smiled widely.

"What is it?" she asked as she smiled. "Erm, I am kinda hungry but I have no idea where the kitchen is." I said shyly. She chuckled at me.

"Come on. I'll show you to the kitchen." She brought me down to the first floor. We took couple of turns, as I marked them in my head.

Soon we reached the kitchen as I saw couple of ladies working there. The moment they saw us, they stopped working.

"Beta female, what would you like?" one of them asked. "My friend here would like something eat." she said as they start preparing something.

We took a seat in one of the stools. "The elders have asked to keep your identity secret till tomorrow's coronation for your safety." Angela whispered to me. I nodded my head in understanding.

Just then I smelled the smell of chocolate and rain forest. I knew he was nearby. I looked around to see him enter by the back door. He look like he just finished a run and came back.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and stood straight including Angela. I hurriedly stood up and hid myself behind Angela.

He walked past us when he stopped. I think he smelled my scent. He turn to where we were standing and scoffed. It hurt me knowing it was towards me. Angela squeezed my hands in assurance.

"Mary, send to my office a coffee." he said as he quickly and walked away. Once he was gone, everyone quickly went back to their work.

I stood there still trying to control my breathing. Angela told me soft words to help me calm down. One of the maid put in front of a plate of lasagne.

"Here come on. Eat some." Angela said as she made me sit down. I took a seat and wiped away my tears. I started to eat slowly.

Angela stayed by me all the time. And once I was done, one of the lady took our plates to wash. I insisted I will do it. But Angela disagreed.

We went back to her room as we spent time watching movies and chit chatting. Without realising, I fell asleep.

I felt someone carry me. But I was too tired to open my eyes and see who is it. The scent was my brother's so I just continue to sleep.

I felt him carry me up the stairs, so he must be probably carrying me to my room. I took a deep breathe when I smelt him again.

Why wouldn't his scent leave me alone. I felt my brother's body tense. After a few minutes, I heard him call my brother. "Nathan, wait."

"What is it Alpha?" he asked sarcastically. I heard him take a deep breathe. "Don't. You are my friend. Don't address with my title when you don't have to."

"Oh really? I forgot that I am your friend. Maybe you should remind me sometime." My brother told back to him. I stayed quiet and controlled my breathing to a sleeping one.

"What is wrong with you?" he asked him questioningly. "What is wrong with me? Bro, why don't you ask yourself that question. Not only are you hurting our Luna, but also my sister."

"Look, its not my fault. You know about me since the beginning. I never expected to have a human as my mate. I cannot settle with the fact my mate is a weak human." he said almost making me cry.

But I kept my cool. I felt him glare at me. But I continue to act as if I am sleeping. "She. is. not. weak." Nathan said as he started to walk.

Finally we reached my room. He placed me softly in my bed as he kissed my forehead and left. Once he left I woke up and looked blankly towards the door.

After hearing all of that, I cant seemed to ease the pain my heart. I fell asleep, with a broken heart.

Chapter 8

Amelia's POV

Its coronation day and I am a nervous wreck. Everyone is preparing for today. What many don't realise is that, as the coronation day is closer, so is the war.

The war is in less than 5 days. I know most of them are prepared for what is about to come, but still having my mate go to a battle doesn't settle with me.

I heard the door knock and asked the person to come in. Angela walked in, holding a dress that was covered up.

"Ready to see your dress, Amelia?" she asked cheerily. I tried to smile but failed miserably. She sighed as she sat beside me.

"Don't worry. Its going to be alright." she said assuring me. "What if its too late for things to be alright?"

"What do you mean?" she asked confused. "The war." She understood what I was I saying. "There is nothing for you to worry about."

"I am scared. What if I lose him? Forever?" I asked slightly scared. "I don't care if he likes me or not anymore. I just want him back alive." I said as a lone tear drop.

She took my hands into hers. "Look, I don't know much about him. But from what I know, he never loses. Ever. You have nothing to worry about."

I nodded my head. "Ok. Shall we see the dress?" she said as she squealed. She opened the cover as I gasped. It looked amazing.

It was a silver dress and had feather on it. It looked simply amazing. "It looks amazing. I can't wear this." I said scared. I might be damage it.

"You have to. All the Luna's wore this for their coronation. The silver dress represent the Silver Moon Pack." she explained.

"How do you know so much?" I asked her quizzically. "Well your brother of course." she said in the 'duh' tone. I chuckled at her. She closed the zipper of the cover.

"Later, I will come back to help you and get ready." she said smiling. I nodded my head. I looked out window and saw him training. Not wanting to get caught, I looked away.

I took a book and started reading to pass the time. I was reading about the history about werewolves. It was interesting to read. About how Goddess Selene created us.

That's when I stumble upon mates. It has how the mate bond is the most strongest bond in the world. How sacred it is. Reading about it made my headache.

I closed the book and decided to take a nap. I fell asleep hoping the mate bond will help us.

"Amelia wake up." I heard Angela's voice. I groaned as I woke up. "Come on wake up. Its time for you get ready." she said helping stand up.

"Go and take a shower while I prepare everything." she said pushing me inside the bathroom. I dragged myself to shower. I was still half asleep.

When I got out, Angela quickly drag me and made me sit down. She started taking brushes and palettes. Before she could do anything I stopped her.

"Light make up." I said sternly. "Oh come on its your coronation day." she insisted. "Its either light make up or nothing at all." I said sternly. She glared at me but yet agreed.

She first did my make up and move onto my hair as she straighten my hair. When I take a look in the mirror, I looked and felt different.

"Ok go on put the dress." she ushered me into the closet. I went in and carefully put the dress. I was so scared that I might damage the dress.

Once I was finally inside the dress, I tried to put the zip, but I couldn't reach I went outside and saw Angela getting ready.

"Hey Angela can you help me with the zipper?" I asked in a shy tone. "Sure dear. Come here." she said as I came forward and put the zip for me.

"You look amazing. The dress fits you perfectly." she said as I turn around. "Thank you." I squeaked out. "Alright time for me to put my dress." she said as she brought her dress along with into the closet.

Few minutes she cam back wearing a light blue dress. She twirl showing me the dress. "You look so beautiful Angela." I gushed looking at her.

"Thank you dear." she said. Suddenly we heard a loud bang sound. "s**t, that's our cue. Come on wear your heels." she said putting on her heels.

"No I don't want the heels." I said moving away from them. "Its only for awhile. Its not even that high." she said making me look at them. They weren't that high.

"Fine." I grumbled and wore them. She guided me out. We took the lift and as she pressed the third floor. I was starting to panic. What if he leaves me standing there.

"Hey its ok. Everything will be ok." Angela said smiling softly. I smiled taking in few deep breathe and calming myself down.

At my last deep breathe, the lift doors open. We stood outside 2 golden doors. I remember these doors. We were outside the throne room. Suddenly the music start to play.

The doors open as Angela lead me in. I was looking down, when we entered inside. After entering inside, she stepped aside and asked me to go ahead.

When I slowly looked up, I saw my brother standing in the first step. Further steps up, I saw him. His back was facing me, not wanting look at me.

Taking few more deep breathe I walked inside. Everyone gasped looking at me. By now, everyone would have known, I am human.

My legs felt like jelly the further I walked. Soon I reached my brother as he gave my his hands and walked me up the stairs to where the Alpha King, along with Elder Anderson was standing.

I faced Elder Anderson, scared to look at the Alpha King.

"We are gathered today, to crown our Kingdom's King and Queen." The elder started. "At hard times, our Alpha King has managed to find his mate. Our Luna queen," the moment he said this, everyone clapped their hands.

Beside me I heard him scoff at what the elder said. "Let the ceremony begin." he said as I saw a boy almost my age bring in a golden bowl.

I knew what we had to do. We had to cut at each others palm, combining our blood, holding our hands.

"Bring it forward." the elder told the boy. The boy brought it towards us. "Son, you go first." the Elder told Alpha King as he passed him a knife.

Reluctantly, he took the knife and grabbed my hand and cut it across my palm rather harshly, making me wince at the pain.

"Its your turn dear." the elder said taking the knife from and passed it to me. I took his large hands lightly and cut his palm softly not wanting to hurt him.

Blood was oozing out from both our hands. We placed our palms together and let the blood pour into the bowl. Once there was sufficient, we retreated our hands back.

The Elder took the bowl and start enchanting some words. I felt power surge through me. So did the pack. The entire pack felt the power form in them.

"The crowns." the Elder as the same boy brought in 2 crowns. Both of us kneeled in front of him. He took a golden crown and place on top of the Alpha King.

"I now Crown you Xavier King as King of the werewolf Kingdom." So that's his name. Xavier. I smiled thinking about. It suits him.

He took another silver crown and placed it on my head. " I now Crown you as Queen of the werewolf Kingdom." he said as another round of claps were heard.

We both stood still having to look down. "Now son, you have to mark her." the Elder said to Xavier. My eyes went wide. This is it.

We slowly turned to each other. I can see him fisting his hands. He didn't want to do this. Neither did I. Not this way. I wanted my mate mark me willingly.

"Go ahead son." the Elder said. After few more seconds, he grabbed me by my shoulder and bite me harshly into my neck. I let out a soft scream.

I felt his fangs go deep inside my neck. He slowly pulled them out. I can feel the blood oozing out from my neck. My body felt weak, before I felt darkness consume. The last thing I saw was my mate's face.
