Chapter Thirty Six
After dinner with Alegra, Kate walked back to the apartment to try and clear her head in the hope she would be able to get a decent night's sleep. She was feeling pretty stupid for expecting him to be waiting for her, even though that's what she was secretly hoping for. Part of her wanted him to be missing her, to be happy to see her and that was the part of Kate that believed him when he told her he loved her. The other part was a constant nagging voice in her head that just wouldn't shut up. Why would he be waiting for you? He probably moved on the second you left.
