The moment I opened my eyes, the room lurched sideways, a sickening tilt that forced me to slam them shut again. My head pounded like a drum, each beat sending a sharp spike of pain through my skull. I groaned, clutching the pillow as if it could steady the world around me.
Breathe. Just breathe.
With a shaky exhale, I squinted at the room, bright morning light streaming through the curtains. Too bright. I groaned again and threw an arm over my eyes. I had to move. I had to get up, but the mere thought of lifting my head made my stomach twist.
