Pearl whimpered as the shock from the impact, spread across her already weak body and blinked blearily at the night sky as black spots clouded her vision.
"Ow," she muttered as she slowly sat up while holding onto her aching back and froze at the sound of a gun c*****g.
"Give me one good reason not to blow your brains out?" The man holding the weapon sneered.
"Am I good enough, Felix, or will you need more convincing?" Everest growled as he made his way between them and stared down the sneering man.
"She was spying on us, boss!" He whined and if it had been in any other situation Pearl would have smiled at how alike it was to a petulant child and their parent.
"She was curious like all humans are, and it clouded her better judgement," the dark-haired man responded as he turned around
