What kind of town is this? I have only been here a day, and the people want to know who I will marry! I stop on my tracks and smile at Keyla when an idea comes to mind: "What if the people of the town sees me with you? My reputation will be destroyed, and then they will leave me be." Keyla looks at me with sympathy: "Sorry to burst your bubble, but that won't work. You are only one of three men who is single and our age in this town, and one of them is the sheriff you met earlier today. If you are seen with me, everyone who cares about those three bachelorettes will try to convince you that I am bad and that you should leave me alone." She says it with so much conviction that it has probably happened before. That makes me even more angry. Why would someone want to hurt such a beautiful woman?
When I came to the porch and saw her wearing yoga pants and a crop top with a big cardigan on top to keep her warm, I had to sit down so she wouldn't spot the tightness of my pants. Thank god she went into the house so I could adjust myself and look at the stock market so my thoughts stayed away from her big boobs and nice ass. She is not scaring me away with all the warnings. If anything, I feel more protective over her and will keep a close eye on her.
I can see it is getting late and that she looks tired, so I bid her farwell and go home to my parents.
The next morning, I can see a truck stopping right in front of Keyla's house. A guy comes out of the truck and walks towards the house. Keyla comes out looking fresh and happy as she hugs the guy and invites him into her house.
"That is Matt. He is a carpenter in this town and moved here about eight years ago. He comes to Keylas house a couple times a week and helps her with her renovations. They seem more like friends than lovers to me. They never seem to meet except when Keyla needs his assistance at home. I don't really think she needs him around that much, but he is nice to check up on her so often." My mom says from behind me. "Why are you telling me this, mom?" I ask perplexed. "So you won't make assumptions! Most of the people in town talks about Keyla in a bad way, but I live next door to her and can see what a good woman she is. She does so much good for this town, but she doesn't take credit for it, so only a few people knows about it. I have seen her drive out at night with donations and other things the town desperately needs. She delivers it anonymously, so most people does not know. I know she works hard for it. I also know that she have to ask her friend Amanda to watch Melody on the nights that she does charity because she can't even trust her parents to watch her kid. She is cival against her parents for the sake of Melody, but there's no trust. I can tell you that much."
My mom gives me so much valuable information right now. I try to look like I don't care and memorialize all the information at the same time. It doesn't take long before the bachelorettes comes knocking on my parents door with the bad excuse that they have baked something for me. I am at my moms house, food is not something I lack. Still, my mom thanks them and invites them in. They start introducing themselves. Neither one of them has any job or has any intention of working. They go to charity gallas and charity auctions and host barbecues in their backyards. This is so boring my eyes drift out of the window. Keyla is waving goodbye to Matt. Before she turns and walks back into the house. That is all it talkes for the three girls to start bad mouthing Keyla. They tell me how Keyla is a w***e and how Matt just had his weekly f**k. They tell me how she has seduced a billioner and that he is the one paying for everything that she has. I get so mad, because after my encounters with Keyla I can tell she is not that kind of person. I stand up and ask all of them to leave immediately. My mom seemed shocked at first but then she almost looks proud. I shuffle all the girls out of the house and lock the door behind them.
After they left my parents went to town to get some groceries and meet some friends. I couldn't sit down. I was still mad about what they said. I finally caved and walked down to Keylas house. I knocked and heard a scream and a loud bang from the inside. I ran in and up the stairs, towards where I think I heard the sound. I find Keyla on the floor with the ladder on top of her. I hurry and take away the ladder, and I can see blood coming from her head. She opens her eyes and squint at me. "You scared me! Usually, nobody knocks in the middle of the day at this house. I just thought I heard a rat in the attic, so I was checking that out when you knocked. I thought the rat was behind me and fell down from the ladder" She explains herself. I am only looking at the blood "We need to get you to the hospital! You need to stop moving. You had a headinjury and your bleeding. Please let me carry you to the car." I say and move slowly towards her. She looks back at the blood on the floor and then touches her head. She starts to laugh and I am begging to think the injury is worse than it looks like. "This is not blood, it's paint! I landed on Melodys painting bottle. Now I will be a red head for a cuple of days. Think I can pull it off?" She asks with a sarcastic smile. I still can't believe it, so I get closer and check for myself. After checking her head I check her body for broken limbs. When I am done we are on the floor with our faces inches apart. All I want to do is kiss the hell out of her for scaring me like that.
