"Did you see what happened right now?" Lia started. "I can kill you whenever I want," she added.
Emily frowned hard.
Is this bitçh threatening her?
"Is this a threat? Gosh... I have better things to do than this. " Emily rolled her eyes and walked towards her car. She made to open her car door when Lia grabbed her wrist.
"I'm not joking Emily, if you don't stay away from Caden you would have to face my wrath, he is mine!" Lia warned.
"Are you delusional to this extent? How do you expect me to stay away from MY HUSBAND?" Emily scoffed.
"I don't give a shît, divorce him if you must," Lia replied.
"No, and you won't do shît about it, miss whatever your name is." Emily pulled her wrist from Lia's grip and got into her car.
She drove away fast, leaving an angry Lia gritting her teeth.

{MADISON'S APARTMENT}
Emily's car stopped in front of Madison's apartment, and she came down from it.
She didn't go to a repair shop to fix her headlight like she had planned, she decided to change her mind and do it the next day.
Luckily for her, she didn't get pulled over by the police for a broken headlight.
Emily walked into the building and made her way to Madison's door.
After knocking on the door, she stood for a few seconds before it flew open, and Madison came into view.
Emily smiled, but immediately she saw the bruise on Madison's face. Her expression turned into shock, horror, and confusion.
Her eyes widened, her mouth open as her jaw dropped.
"What the hell happened?" Emily asked, her hands flying to Madison's face.
"I fell," Madison smiled awkwardly, hoping Emily would believe the lie.
"This doesn't look like you fell, Madison." Emily frowned at her.
"I'm serious, I fell and hit my face," Madison continued and tried to remove Emily's hands from her face.
Emily gripped her hand in worry, and Madison winced, making Emily's frown deepen.
She pulled the sleeves of Madison sweater upwards, and she saw the bruises on her arm.
"Don't you dare say you fell this time, what the hell?" Emily screamed in confusion.
"It's nothing serious, I didn't know you were coming." Madison tried to change the topic.
"Girl, you're not getting out of this one. What happened? Is it that brother of yours? Is this why you didn't come to work today? I knew he was bad news!" Emily said rapidly, and Madison remained quiet.
"His face felt off to me," Emily spat.
She dragged Madison to the couch and sat her down. "Madison, talk to me. What's going on?" Emily said worriedly because Madison wasn't saying anything.
She was just quiet, but her face didn't stay expressionless for long.
Tears ran down her cheek, her shoulders shook slightly, and her lips trembled.
Emily sighed and pulled her into a hug carefully. Not to hurt her or graze her bruises.
She didn't say anything as she hugged a sobbing Madison.
"You'll be fine," she muttered almost in a whisper.

{NATHAN'S HOUSE}
Nathan stopped in front of his house and came down from it.
Ava, who was sitting in the passenger seat, also came down from the car. She had a guilty expression on while Nathan looked extremely mad.
He walked into the house, and Ava followed behind him.
Her brother had walked into her hotel room this morning and gave her the surprise of her life. She didn't expect him to find out so soon.
She was hoping to tell him herself.
"Nathan," she called slowly.
"Why didn't you stay in Australia like always, like you should have?" He asked as he finally turned to look at her.
"I was transferred here, I was going to tell you, I promise," she hurriedly spoke.
"Why didn't you reject the transfer? You could have done that," Nathan replied.
Ava bit her lips. She wasn't about to tell her brother the reason she accepted to be transferred here.
Knowing him, he would send her àss back to Australia in a heartbeat. "I don't wanna stay in Australia anymore," Ava replied, hoping it was a good enough excuse.
"Ava, New York is crazy. The paparazzi here are crazy, I'm worried about you, don't you understand?" Nathan said.
"I know, I promise I will stay away from the paparazzi, I'm a doctor, I won't be in any tabloids at all." Ava tried to convince him.
"If anything happens, you're going back to Australia," Nathan replied sternly, and Ava nodded.
"So I can stay?" She asked with an unsure smile.
"Yes, you can," Nathan sighed, and Ava literally leaped for joy.
"Thank you, thank you, you're the best brother ever," she laughed.
"Ohh, how's Madison?" Ava asked.
"Why are you asking about her?" Nathan asked instead.
Ava shrugged. "She wasn't like the Madison. I knew when we were on the plane here, so I was wondering if something happened, did you say something to her?" Ava asked with etched eyebrows.
"She knew you were coming here?" Nathan asked, and Ava took in her lips.
Shît.
"Yeah....." Ava chuckled awkwardly. "Don't reprimand her, I begged her not to tell you," Ava pleaded.
Nathan sighed and rubbed his temples. "What makes you think I did something to her?" He asked.
"Because you're my brother and I know you, I love Madison, she's fun and sweet and she's exactly the person you need in your boring life right now, you should treat her well" Ava answered.
"Things with Madison are not like that, Ava," Nathan clarified.
"Then make it like that, don't let her slip through you, she's amazing, you won't even know love unless it threw a rock at you, Nathan," Ava scoffed.
"It seems someone wants to be thrown back to Australia," Nathan threatened.
Ava took in her lips again. "Sorry, I miss spoke," she chuckled awkwardly. “I'm serious about Madison, though,” Ava added before walking away.
Nathan sighed. He hasn't decided what to do with Ambrose yet.
A brother who hits his sister because of money is a jackàss that needs to be erased from this earth.

{CLUB~8PM}
The place was as busy as every damn night, loud music, smoke, drunk people dancing in the crowd, and strangers who just met that day making out in plain sight.
In the barely lit club, the VIP section upstairs sat George and Caden.
"Why are we in a club, George?" Caden asked with a raised eyebrow.
"What do people do in clubs? Get drunk. You need this before you meet James tomorrow," George replied.
"Why?" Caden asked.
"So you won't beat the shît out of him before the meeting starts," George answered.
"I won't," Caden retorted in a frown
"We both know you would caden," George fired.
"Anthony knew exactly what he did, adding James to the participants list. He wants to replace me with the one person I can't stand." Caden gritted his teeth.
"This is exactly why you need to drink before meeting him," George replied, handing him a glass of beer.
Caden collected it from him roughly and gulped down the content.

{CADEN'S HOUSE}
Emily didn't plan on coming back home tonight. Immediately, Madison started crying. She made up her mind to stay with her for the night, but Madison pushed her away.
She didn't even get her to tell her everything that happened. She didn't want to pressure Madison.
Madison can be so persuasive, she assured her she was fine and told Emily to go home.
Emily made a mental note to go to Madison's place tomorrow morning before going to work.
She couldn't believe Madison had an àss for an older brother.
“What's wrong with men these days?” she muttered to herself.
The thought alone made her want to reap out Ambrose’s teeth.
Emily changed into something comfortable and walked down the stairs to prepare something for Caden to eat when he got back.
She doesn't have the appetite to eat anything.
Her phone rang, and it was James calling. That's when she remembered she hadn't done the headlights.
She picked up the phone, but since she was cooking, she put it on speaker and placed it on the counter.
"Hi, did you fix the headlights?" James' soothing voice came through the phone.
"Not yet, I will do it tomorrow," Emily replied.
"That's what you said yesterday," he chuckled lightly.
"I know, I know, I have just been busy," Emily said.
"Why don't you come meet me tomorrow, I would take you to the best repair shop in New York. They will have it done for you in minutes," James replied.
"You know the best repair shop in New York?" Emily asked.
"Yeah... Believe it or not, I get into accident a lot, " James chuckled.
"Why?" Emily asked, and there was a small pause at the other end.
"My eyes, I always forget to wear my glasses," he replied shyly.
Emily chuckled. "Seriously, that's crazy," Emily replied.
"I know,” he said with a smile. “You have a beautiful laugh," James added, and Emily blinked.
She didn't like where this was going. "Thanks," Emily said curtly.
"Anytime," James replied.
"In case you don't know, I'm married." Emily tried to clear the air.
"I know, I saw the news, but I didn't picture you as the type who would marry someone like Caden Kingston." James shrugged.
"Well... True, if it were up to me, I wouldn't have, " Emily replied truthfully.
"I thought so too. You're too good for him," James said coolly.
"Oh really?" Emily heard a familiar voice, and she turned to meet a half drunk Caden standing behind her.
The look on his face was anything but pleasant.
If she thought the look he gave her was terrible, then the one that came after he saw the caller ID was horrific.
Well... Damn.
