THE WEDDING

1761 Words

JAYDEN A Week Later “…for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part. Amen.” The couple repeat every line holding hands and staring into each other’s eyes. It’s a hard moment to witness and even more cringe when I see a tear fall from my father’s eyes. I look away, deeply irritated but when I turn my face it’s to witness another nerve-wracking scene. Freya crying. She dabs a white handkerchief beneath her eyes, completely fixated on the man about to kiss his new wife, and I swallow a little. I remember some time ago when my father renewed his vows with my mother. The tent had been as flowery and my father as teary. It is kinda pathetic to witness the same thing a few years later with an entirely different person, but I guess women liked these sort of things.
