This isn't the first time I've come here — well tonight's decision was prompted by the fact that I overheard Freya talking to her mother and felt a little jealous and angry — but every time I come here, I have to pause and take in the large white building that serves as Miami's finest hospital. Aside from its size, the building has a menacing presence.
Perhaps it's the literal dread and grief that emanates from it, or the continual reminder that the only other person I care about in the world is slowly dying within either way, the reminder is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to walk in.
