Then Again
As he fetched my morning tea and cereal, I rolled over and turned sleepy eyes on him, delighted to see him perform yet another duty I’d added to his growing list of household chores..
“There’s my lovely boy,” I observed with a tone of voice and matching expression that never failed to mortify him, knowing what he had ahead of him on this particular morning would be of even less appeal to his embittered and diminished manhood. “I’ve have arranged for us to drop the kids off at mum and dad’s after breakfast.”
Suspecting something that would not prove appealing to him, he gave me a quizzical look.
