The notification about the Student Council reshuffle was the biggest news to hit Crestwood Academy in years. When the email blasted out, phones started lighting up all down the hallway like fireflies.
It wasn't just whispers anymore. It was the constant *ding, ding, ding* of notifications. My name was right there next to the title: *Vice President*.
The corridor transformed. The same students who used to sneer at me or look right through me were now staring. I saw shock. I saw indignation. And for the first time, I saw fear. They clutched their phones, scrolling through i********: and Snapchat group chats that were undoubtedly dissecting my sudden rise to power.
I kept my head high, walking straight through the parting crowd.
