The return journey was quieter than the trip out. With Mason gone from the cruise ship, the students of Crestwood Academy could finally enjoy the ocean view without looking over their shoulders.
I was reading on the deck when Mina found me. She sat down beside me, her expression complicated.
"My father called a few days ago," she began, her voice low against the wind. "He mentioned the Sterling family situation, but also... your father."
I turned a page, my expression remaining impassive. "And?"
"He has a new woman," Mina said, watching me closely. "Word is he's preparing to move. My father asked me to tell you-make sure you get back what legally belongs to you. Don't let that woman take your inheritance."
