The thundering sound of heavy footsteps echoed as the door of Alpha Zenith's home office burst open.
Seated behind his obsidian desk, Alpha Zenith slowly raised his head from the glowing laptop before him. His emerald green eyes darkened instantly when they landed on the towering figure storming toward him.
Giovanni Beckham.
Former Alpha of the Thunderfang Pack.
And a man who still struggled to accept that the throne no longer belonged to him.
“Three hours ago, I called you for a meeting, and yet you ignored me, Boy.”
Zenith leaned back in his chair with lethal calmness, though the veins in his hands tightened around the pen between his fingers.
“Not Boy,” he corrected coldly, “Your Alpha, Father. Don’t forget that again.”
Giovanni’s jaw clenched. For a brief second, disbelief flashed across his face. His wolf stirred restlessly within demanding dominance but he couldn’t hold his superiority when Zenith’s eyes flashed gold. The aura erupting from him made the room feel smaller.
Ruth, his wolf growled inside him lowly but he calmed it down telling that the man standing in front of him was his father.
Who was having difficulty in accepting his retirement.
“Very well, My Alpha,” Giovanni bit out through gritted teeth. “How did your meeting go with the Scott family? Did you approve of Alex Scott for Raya?” He asked, “And Arthur’s daughter, Keroline?”
Zenith gripped the neck of his pen tightly as he recalled the girl which occupied his mind and thoughts ever since he saw her. However, he was not someone who allowed anyone else to reflect on his emotions.
“Hmm. Raya is not marrying Alex. That guy, there is something I don't like about him.” Zenith declared. Giovanni’s eyebrows curled together.
“What?” Giovanni frowned immediately.
Zenith dropped the pen to his desk and leaned back in his chair. “I can’t explain it, but the man reeks of deception. Weakness hidden behind false strength and charm. I won’t hand my sister to someone like that.”
Giovanni’s face tightened with frustration. For years, they had been searching for a worthy match for Raya as she still had not found her fated mate. Alex Scott was powerful, influential and heir to the pack who matched their standard and power.
He wanted this alliance with the Darkmoon Pack. The alliance with Arthur Scott. It would make their pack’s power unmatchable with this alliance. “And Arthur’s daughter?”
This time his reaction was immediate. A thunder-like current ran into his bloodstream and hunger blazed through his golden orbs which didn't go unnoticed by Giovanni.
“Yes,” Zenith lifted his chin, declaring his future Luna. “I’ve decided to take Arthur Scott’s elder daughter as my mate.”
Giovanni blinked. Confusion instantly twisted his features.
“Elder daughter? Arthur Scott has only one daughter, Zenith, I sent you for Keroline. I hope you are talking about her. I heard about her beauty and powers. She would make the perfect Luna for the Thunderfang pack.” Giovanni nodded.
Zenith gave his father a hard stare as his mind drifted back to his memory.
Another chosen mate.
Another political alliance.
Another mistake forced upon him in the name of power by his father.
Just like today, his father cajoled him for marriage with that chosen mate in the past which left scars of betrayal in his heart.
“I don't trust your decisions anymore, Father. I have made my decision. She is…”
“It is eight in the evening, and I expect my family at the dining table instead of fighting in offices.” The sharp yet elegant voice interrupted the heated conversation instantly. Both men turned.
Gina Beckham, Zenith’s mother entered the office gracefully, dressed in silk and pearls, her calm presence killed the suffocating tension.
Zenith immediately calmed himself. His aura suddenly changed as he stood up. “We were just coming,” he said, giving his father an ordering stare.
Fisting his hand tightly, Giovanni looked away from him and towards his wife. “We are coming.” He muttered stiffly.
Gina smiled at the father and son duo before they all headed for breakfast. Once seated, Zenith casually informed his mother about his visit to the Darkmoon Pack.
The moment Gina heard him mention marriage, excitement lit up her face.
“You finally found someone? Keroline Scott, Right? How is she? r. Oh Raya will be so happy to learn about Tell me everything. Is she truly as beautiful as everyone says? I heard she has stunning golden hair
her sister-in-law.”
Zenith raised his eyes from his plate and rested his hand on his mother's. “You’ll see her tomorrow. Until then calm your excitement, Mother. And Don't tell anything to Raya yet.” He firmly told his mother who frowned at his tone but also understood that there must be some reason behind her son's sudden strictness.
He would tell her that reason himself but till then she was happy for Zenith. At least now he agreed to remarry.

.
“Leave me alone, Mom!” Keroline snapped at her mother. Today, Dad scolded me in front of everyone for that human b***h!”
Nikita Scott sighed before walking toward her daughter with practiced patience.
She settled beside her crying daughter on her bed and caressed her daughter's golden hair. “Arthur only scolded you to protect the alliance,Lina.” Nikita soothed carefully. “Zenith specifically ordered that girl not be harmed.”
Keroline’s face twisted with hatred instantly. “That disgusting freak..”
“Listen first.” Nikita’s lips slowly curved.
“Zenith wants to hand her over to his Beta. As a whore.”
Keroline snapped her head towards his mother hearing that. “A w***e?”
Nikita left the breath she was holding seeing the smile returning to her daughter's face. “We only need to wait a few more days until she turns eighteen.” Her voice darkened sinisterly. “After our purpose is done, I’ll remove her from our lives forever.” Nikita’s eyes dangerously gleamed and it matched the gaze of her daughter's.
“What a pity,” Keroline mocked dramatically. “That means I only have a few days left to torment her. What if I can’t hurt her physically. I am going to use these days to throw her into hell before throwing her to Zenith’s beta.” Both of them laughed.
“Oh yes, Alpha Zenith changed his plans. He’s arriving tomorrow morning with his entire family to discuss the alliance officially.”
It seems like they are too eager for this too.” Nikita informed her.
The excitement on her face and the liveliness that came to her eyes told Nikita that her daughter's mood was finally lifted.
Keroline gasped excitedly before rushing toward her wardrobe.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” she squealed, already throwing dresses across the bed. “I need the perfect outfit tomorrow!”
Nikita watched her daughter with satisfaction.
The future Luna of Thunderfang Pack. Or so they believed.
Neither of them knew the twisted fate was being prepared in the shadows.
And this fate was prepared by the Alpha Zenith.
