Unexpected Arrival

Previously At Office:

Thankfully I reach on time and my office record for reaching on time tag got saved. I dropped myself off on my desk Chair keeping my purse aside. Then I drank almost half of a bottle of water all together as I felt like thirsty for years. I tried to process what just happened since yesterday! everything changed and so rapidly change this way... Just when one of my colleague came to me and informed me that Mr. Malhotra is looking for me.

"s**t ... Not at this hour man...aahhh!"

In Malhotra's cabin:

Roop: May I come in! Sir...

MM: (while deeply into checking a file) have you went through the details that I sent you about the latest project we have got! Why there is no update ye.. ( he moved his eyes from the file to at me and paused for a moment)

Me: what project you are talking about!

MM: seems like someone took my advice seriously! (Eyeing me up from head to toe)

Me: excuse me!

MM: yeah that I gave you at the party. But also seems like you only took it for the cloth and forgot to check your email.

Me: Wait a second. What you are talking about!

MM : Are you still at hangover girl! Not yet out from party mode!

Me: of course not. Let me check my email first. Are you serious!

You sent me a mail by 1 am today. And you are expecting me to give you updates at very first of office hour.

MM: yea why not! You left party early and beside you get enough time at the morning. And like you always claim and as for your past records you are already use to with such short notice actions.

Me: Wow. I believe you actually enjoy all this unnecessary meaningless argument each day. Isn't it!!

Are you really so obsessed with me that much ha!!!

MM:In your dreams! I was so tired of watching your boring routine and your boring style, attitude and presentation ! Today only you seems little better but only lookwise...you still so irritating to stand for a talk.

Me: And even though you still watch me and my action everyday!

MM: of course I am bound to do so. You are my junior after all

Me: yeah right! But being my senior let me remind you... while trying to setting a trap and finding a chance to taunt me you forgot to check the email that you yourself sent me.

I am not under marketing team to give you report over marketing the app launch for this clothing brand. Am under development team. So you better ask for any member from the marketing team.

MM: what! I did sent you details that client asked for the website! I did mail two teams together.

Me: Yeah I am sure you have done that but being so excited while getting a chance to setting a trap for me you misplaced or swapped it unintentionally. Anyways I guess we are done with today's argument. Do send me the right details I will check it and give you update by lunch time.

MM: No we are not done. If you might have seen your email earlier then...

Me: please sir find at least some own dialogues else I can help if you want and don't put the blame game again.

MM: You crap of...

Me:Bye... I left his cabin without letting him finish leaving a thud sound of the door behind my back.

Returning back to my chair I was about to seat but I again got a call for me and this time it's our boss Mr. Rajiv.

I went to his office room he wasn't there. So, I asked Samira (one of our office employee) where is boss! I didn't find him at his place!

Samira: you know na.. Have he ever to be found at his place. He is always somewhere else either in meeting room else in client visit room else rest room.

Me: yeah you are right. I must check the meeting room first. Thanks.

I went for the meeting room. While entering in the room I found a slide show presentation is ongoing regarding the specific project that seems I am not aware of. My eyes caught with my boss's and his eyes gave me a hint for seating there.

So without any disturbance I took a chair and sat on it.

The person who was giving the presentation I couldn't able to see his face at first due to the laptop screen was hiding the face but once the presentation is done I came to see his face and I was shocked to be witnessing it's non other than Som ( My college time ex boyfriend) .

I shouted in my mind as "great" all the best for the rest of your day ahead. 'Be calm' I remined myself.

Everyone claps for his presentation and congratulates him.

When most people left one by one, my boss then introduced me with him. And for my greater shock I come to know his father has been offered a partnership proposal for our company and he came here to present it on behalf of him.

But my shock is not for this piece of information. I came in shock knowing since when he cares and put interest in his father's business proposals. As far as I know he only cares about his own choices and interests and all of this is no way linked with his father's company or any business proposals.

Mr Rajv: Miss Roopal. So what you say... Isn't it a very interesting proposal.

Me: Yes!!... yes sir. I mean sir... I am sure it is but I think you should think and go through it once again before taking any final decision and am no one in position to suggesting you for such a big decision. Anyways I would like you to ask .... ( Som interuppted cutting me in the middle...)

Som: Of course sir. You take your enough time for thinking about this proposal. There is no such hurry.

Me: Sir you called me. Do you want to discuss about something!?

Mr. Rajiv: Oh yes miss Roopal. Actually..... ( Cring Cring....)

Well excuse me I have to take this call ...am coming right back. Wait here you two.

Som: Sure..

Me: Sure sir.

Som: So,

Me: Excuse me !!!

Som: Aren't you...never mind. I am sure you got surprise seeing me here. I can tell you from your facial expression back then.

Me: Ohh please. Don't flatter yourself or rather I should say...stop dreaming I give you that much importance even. And by the way, do you came here for understanding my facial reaction instead of your business proposal approval... by any chance!!

Som: You being you. I always love the way how you always remains prepare with a answer to throw on face. Btw, you really dating that guy ha!

Me: Haa!! Whom I am dating! (Astonishing)

Som: Aren't you ! So, You are kissing strangers these days! Nice.

Me: Excuse me!

Som: Well you kissed that bastard in front of me and introduced with me as your date ! Remember! Don't tell me it's because...

Me: Of course! I mean of course I do remember.

Som: Hold on! Is he really was your date! Or just because you were drunk and want to get over..

Me: Excuse me! Who the hell you think you are! And why does it even matter whether I am dating that guy or not, what was my intension that night blah blah...most importantly Why I would even lie about him! And tell me one thing, who gave you permission to call him bastard ha!!

Som: I will call him whatever I want and when did I say, you lied! You yourself giving such statement.

Me: ( little confused and felt occurred in the current situation that clearly visible on my face).

Som: You really think you can made up something and lie on my face huh! I know you better than anyone else Roop. You can't just lie . You didn't change a bit.

Me: Just stop there Som..

Jaan: Hello there. I hope I didn't interrupt both of you guys.

Me: (looking at the person... 'Jaan.." Called inside my mind. what is he doing here...now)

Jaan: hello miss Roopal..and hello Mr.!?

Som: Som here. We met before...

Jaan: Yeah I do remember we met at the party last night.

Som: Yeah right! So, you do work here! Interesting miss Roop! So, you actually didn't lie...but then why you...

Jaan: Excuse me. What lie you are talking about!

Som: Ohh.. nothing. It's something personal in between us. And I am sure as I can see, Roop didn't tell you about me. Did she!

Me: I was about to raise my voice against his such comment but before I can speak Mr. Jaan took over already.

Jaan: Well you met me as her date at the party. Sorry we didn't get chance to talk much as you know we get involved in the middle of our kis...

Me: ( Giving Mr. Jaan a sharp warning look)

Jaan: Well never mind. But for your knowledge we are dating for quite long. So, I know everything about her life in fact each and every inch of her quite in detail.

Me: Jaaan..we are at office.

Jaan: oh yes... I know that. So, where I was. Of course she mentioned and introduced me with all her friends. And she did also mention how you are no longer a important person in her life. Right roop!

Som: ( Astonished to hear roop from his mouth and fuming in rage after his such statement)

Me: Yes... right.

(Som gave me a sharp look when I agreed with mr. jaan's statement)

Jaan: By the way I don't work here just for your correction.

Som: ohh..

Mr. Rajiv: Yes he is right!

Me: (my boss then come over in between our conversation and continued. I felt little relieve with such tension building among us. )

Mr. Rajiv: He is my best friend's only son. He don't work here but soon he is going to work on a project with us.

(Som and me both were shocked for our individual reasons with this latest piece of information)

Jaan: What is this uncle. Not fare. I bet dad informed you already.

Mr. Rajiv: Yes he did. I just received his call and was in a conversation with him.

Jaan: I told him already that I personally will visit you and disclose about it in front you. But my dad being my typical dad!

Mr. Rajiv : Do you know Som he just came.....

Jaan: Interrupting him ohho.. Uncle... let's go to your cabin then we will talk. For how long we are gonna stand here and talk.

(Me: Thank god our lie didn't get caught)

Som: Well sir, you guys carry on as I have some other work to finish and am getting pretty late already and I also have to head back to my dad's office so. Do let me know what you think of our proposal. Dad will be glad if we can agree for this partnership.

Mr. Rajiv: of course Som. I will inform you soon.

(Som turned back for living but then hold and came back again)

Som: Ohh.. I forgot to mention.. Dad specifically asked me to inform and request you to come over for our fulfilment of 50 yrs of company's celebration party by this friday evening. Please sir I am requesting you to come whether you choose to be partner with us or not doesn't matter.

Mr. Rajib: Okay okay I will definitely come.

Som: And miss Roopal and Mr. Jaan I am inviting you two as well. I will be expecting three of your visit by that day.

Me: Well am sorry I won't be...

Jaan: Never mind we will be present for sure.

Som: Now allow me to take my leave. Thank you.

Me: But sir...

Jaan: Uncle let us go I have lot of things to discuss about. And miss Roopal can you come by with two cups of coffee please, hope you won't mind.

(Me thinking being statue at that place- what just happened! what this two men think of themselves! Seriously !!!!! Som and Mr. Jaan at same place and specifically non other than at my job place..ohh god! And now am at service for coffee too...wonderfull!)
