"Knowing you two can't stand each other," Diana scolded. Her voice was loud enough that other people in the restaurant started to look. Both Sonia and Hunter flinched. "Is that really all that happened?" she asked, feeling like they were hiding something. "Sonia?" she warned.
Sonia looked angry and defiant. "I didn't do anything, Mom. Ask him," she said, pointing at Hunter. Surprisingly, Hunter agreed with her. Even though they hated each other, they sometimes stuck together.
"But she did call me an asshole," Hunter added with a small smile. Sonia’s mouth dropped open in shock, but she quickly calmed down.
"I won't deny it," Sonia snapped, looking at Hunter and then her mom. "I don't know why you even decided to date him," she muttered coldly.
