EPISODE 7 * Michael's POV The cafeteria noise exploded with whispers and snickers. Dave, you went too far. But watching the look on Diana's face the raw fury was captivating. Her fist clenched, her eyes blazing. Without a second of hesitation, Diana's fist swung out, landing squarely on Dave's jaw with a loud c***k. The sound of her's fist hitting Dave's jaw cut through the cafeteria silence like a gunshot. Dave was thrown backward, clutching his face, stumbling out of the chair and crashing hard onto the floor. I froze in at most shock, the rest of the gangs had the same reaction. That punch would break a tooth. The entire cafeteria gasped at the same time. A stunned, freezing silence hung in the air after Diana landed that punch. My friends and I were watching everything, completely engrossed. I couldn't help the slow smile that spread across my face. This was better than any drama movie. This girl was pure fire. Joseph stood hurling attempting to interfere, but I held him back. “What the f**k bro. The school are recording everything”. I gaze at everyone and throughly they were filming. “If he wants to win the game, it’s not meant to be easygoing.”. I whispered. He muttered something under his breath before shoving my hand of him, seating back down. Dave's eyes narrowed, his glare cutting right through Diana, but she stood her ground. Her defiance was burning brighter than ever. I knew she wouldn't back down. She's got spirit. Dave’s face turned bright red with rage, his eyes blazing with fury. He clenched his fists and took a step toward Diana, clearly intending to escalate the fight. The students around them gasped again, their voices rising in shock and excitements. “You f**k of s**t”. Dave cursed, raising his fist for a hard punch. But before things could get worse, I stepped in. My voice was calm and commanding, instantly cutting through the noise. "Dave, that's enough," I said, my eyes fixed entirely on them both, even with the fear eloping from her, she was still on her guard. She met my eyes with easy. “Let it end here. Everyone phone down and delete whatever video you installed now”. It’s didn’t take a minute before everyone scroll on their phone. “You had your fun”. I said. I wanted her to know I was the one stopping it. Dave’s gaze snapped from Diana to me. For a moment, it looked like he was so angry he would ignore my command, but then he quickly regained control. He knew better than to openly challenge me, especially in front of the entire school. "You're lucky," Dave sneered, directing the threat at Diana before turning to leave. "Otherwise, you'd be sorry." He stormed off, his definitely destroying the green house today. I might have ended the matter here, however Dave won’t stop until she sees her broken, it’s either him or his fans. “You just blacklist yourself in his book”. I mumbled. Second impression is to let her know I had the power to protect her and the power to hurt her. Sia lured behind her, holding tightly unto her hand before dragging her away from the hatful glares from the “Dave? You've blown it. You're not allowed to play with us anymore." Scott reasoned. Dave’s face instantly turned bright red. "Who are you to kick me out? I'll win that five million no matter what! That girl slapped me in front of the entire school cafeteria. I'll make her pay for this humiliation." Scott piped up with sarcasm. "What are you going to do, Dave? The game's over for you." Dave's glare was murderous. "This isn't over," he hissed, his voice barely a whisper. I leaned back, completely calm and locking my gaze onto Dave's. His side cheek was covered in blue buries clearly visible. My head flashed back to how that punch landed and honestly she got the power with a small dedicate body. "His just stating the facts, Dave. You messed up. You can't play the game with a clear mind if you let your emotions control you." For a moment, I thought he'd attack me, but he managed to control himself. His expression turned into a dark scowl. "You're just jealous,You think you're the only one who can win? I'll show you, I'll show all of you. I'll win that five million, and She will pay for what she did." He vowed. His being repeating same words and am sick hearing it. I raised an eyebrow. "Dave. I'm just enforcing the rules. And if you can't follow them, maybe you're not fit for this." Joseph leaned forward, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Let's see how this plays out, guys. This could get interesting.” Dave tried to storm out of the apartment, but I quickly said. "You're not going anywhere until school is over." The others exchanged confused glances. "And why is that?" Dave demanded, arching an eyebrow in defiance. I smiled weary "You really want to face the gossipmongers right after that public humiliation? They'll feed on your misery. If you step out now, things will get ugly." Dave went silent, admitting I was right. My smile grew wider as I thought about Diana's slap again, if I wasn’t someone who controls his emotions, I might have laughed at my own best friend without getting tired. For the first time in this game, something was different. No female or male had ever rejected us, they’re always lined up for us to pick when pleased. But non has ever fought as she did, I’ve come to notice she hardly defend herself but it’s willing to kill for others. I felt a surge of admiration for her bold move. I rushed upstairs, leaving the boys, and flopped onto my bed. My mind immediately wandered back to my first few encounters with Diana. She was focused on the school map she turned upside down, a brown hair that falls freely on her shoulder, a light makeup wasn’t properly done but it was enough to describe her as cute by the way she applied it. The boys were behind, unobvious. An idea pop into my head as I came to a pause right where she will be crossing. She bumped into me, hitting down with a loud thumb. I smirked, when she stared up to see who she hits on, I tightened my expression back. "Interesting lady," I chuckled to myself. A knock broke my thoughts, and I got up to answer it. It was Joseph, that smug look never seems to fail. "May I come in?" he asked. I nodded, he slide inside sitting on the plush bed. I walked over and sat next to him, our shoulders almost touching. "What's up?" "Nothing feels right," Joseph started. "What happened today was humiliating, but still, Dave shouldn't have been insulted like that by some commoner." He inhaled "Dave's image is ruined, Michael, and it's all because of one girl. Aren't you going to do something about this? Or do you want your best friend walking the hallway in shame?" "Anyways," Joseph continued casually, "that whole seminar incident happened years ago, when your mother left you and your dying dad, and your sister, to beg for food in the streets. I mean... People like Diana are just like her. Innocent on the outside but a devil on the inside. I know you hate people like that, especially since I keep seeing you staring at her with such mixed feelings." “What are you implying?”. I asked with a hard glare. I hated to be reminded of that fact. I hated when they uses that woman to impose words to me. I hated her every existence and they knew of that fact. “Nothing bro. Just looking out”. He smiled a devilish smile, patting softly on my back lightly.
