Dr. Thompson's expression finally cracked, revealing a glimmer of desperation. "You people are ruthless," he spat. "You'll use anything to get what you want."

Sophia leaned forward. "We're not using anything, Dr. Thompson. We're offering you a way out. Cooperate with us, and we'll help your sister. Refuse, and... well, let's just say you won't be working in any reputable research institution again."

Dr. Thompson's resolve began to crumble. He looked around the room, searching for an escape, but Sophia's team had him cornered. Finally, he spoke. "Fine. I'll tell you. It was ...but just as he was about uttering the name something unexpected happened.
