Jiori amiss

“Heyy, what's good, you know I'm kinda in the middle of a drill right now, so, leave a message” Devin's call across to Raaul ended up in him listening to Raaul’s voicemail recording, though unlike Devin, he was a bit perturbed. He tried again but the voicemail was all he heard was the same thing. “Raaul, not available, a bit normal. Maybe he's with his guardian back at Kronar, I think Jiori should be there with him” Jiori said as he muttered to himself “why am I thinking this way these days. Okay so I'll rest a little then tomorrow I'll warp over to Arthion to check on Jiori.” he said as sleep caught up with him. Back in the shady alley where Jiori’s guardian had him put in a loop prison. Jiori's loop was set at 30 seconds. He was made to relive the worst 30 seconds of his life: The day his brother died, he saw the whole thing happening, he could feel it like he was there. Years after the banishment of the Sinsaranians. A group of space tyrants from a galaxy far away invaded Zorvath. They were known as the Dreymores. They were scavengers. Invading planets, destroying them and gathering its remains to build a massive empire. They came to Commander Kal’s house when he wasn't around and while Raaul was still young they took his brother, they dragged him just the same way his father dragged him down to the alley, they dragged his brother and while he was struggling, he kicked one of the Dreymore soldiers. They lost patience and stabbed him on the chest with a quantum blade and left him there then warped back into their cruiser. The first Sphynx was tested in battle on that day, they launched the first missile at the Dreymorian battleship and it hit the thrusters so it was almost impossible for them to escape at this rate of damage. The Kronarian soldiers opened a black hole that sucked the enemy into it. But it came at a cost, all of the soldiers around the black hole were drawn in too. All but one survived: A Dreymore who impersonated a soldier by taking his uniform and ID and blending in. Jiori from the shadows, watched his brother get murdered that day and couldn't do anything about it. Though he tried to get over it, there was nothing he could do that could heal the wound of that day completely let alone clean the scar. Xymer's Nova came up and in no time Zorvath as a whole became active as everyone began to go about their daily engagements. Devin is just waking up from his short nap and is about to clean up and go on with his already resolved plan. Just as he's about to warp, Lixam taps him on his shoulder. “Morning kiddo” he said beaming a smile at Devin who dodged the salutation “Your eyes look sore” Said Devin to his guardian. “Oh Kid, you see, while you went into the chambers we had to hurry and draw a blueprint for this plan of yours so it would still stay fresh in our memories, we don't just sleep you know.” said Lixam who noticed the dullness in Devin's Aura but didn't do anything about it because Devin himself possesses a dark personality and every one is aware of this and they are okay with it because even though Devin was smart enough to, he didn't pose a threat to the Zorvathians. And because of his intelligence, the lead scientist of Xymerion's Time Travel facility was made his guardian. “Sure, goodluck with that. I'll catch up with you later” Devin said as he activated his warp gloves “Have fun out there kid” Lixam said “I will, oh and don't forget: the energy charge level shouldn't be above 70% or else the whole place goes…” pointing to his guardian expecting him to complete the sentence for him “Bomb” Lixam added Devin nodded and gave a light smile as he was taken by the warp field. “Well he sure is bright today!” Lixam commented on the rare behavior Devin put up today but didn't have enough time to think too deeply about it as he received word from his assistant that his presence was needed urgently back at the mechafacta. The place where all of Zorvath’s technologies are created or reformed. Devin's warp took him to Arthion, the place he and his friends gathered, he then took the rest upon himself to find Jiori's house. None of his friends knew where he was staying all they knew was that he lives on Arthion, nothing more, nothing less. But Devin kept trackers which stuck to the shoes of each of his friends. He took out the GPS locator and followed the blip to a small building a bit far from initial location. On getting there, he was puzzled at what he saw first or maybe because he stumbled and this time wasn't quick enough to turn on his anti gravity belt. “What in the name of bombs is wrong with this timeline” Bomb was now like a favourite word for Devin and he used it to express possibly everything. He turned around to have a look at what he stumbled across. “In front of a strange residence and the first welcome I get is a pair of shoes scattered on the ground, so much for being sent to the past” Devin thought quite loudly about to continue his journey, just then, the shoes he stumbled on looked quite familiar and just when he was about to resolve his first mystery for the day, the door of the building next to him was opened and drawn back on hearing this, Devin picked up the pair of shoes, ran away and hid behind a nearby shed. He observed closely and noticed a man with a Kronarian soldiers regalia emerging from the door and warping off to somewhere, his rank indicated that of a warp commander. Devin seeing this and turning the shoes which he held upsidedown, he confirmed he was at the right place. The tracker got stuck to Jiori's shoes. “But why would Jiori leave his shoes on the verandah” Devin soliloquized as the thought of breaking into the housecamr into his head. He activated his warp gloves near the doors and it created a warp field with a lot of energy that it melted the door leaving a hollow opening big enough for Devin to get through in it. While in the house, Devin saw pictures on the walls and ancient artifacts in the house. But out of all the fascinating artifacts in the house, the most unlikely caught his attention: A carving made of bronze of an axe placed diagonally across a ship. “That's suspicious because Jiori's guardian was a warp commander not a seal, what business could he have had with a ship or the water at all” Devin’s thoughts always found it's way out of his mouth. He decided to check the room adjacent to where he was standing at the moment, that was Jiori's bedroom. But Jiori was nowhere to be found. He then looked next to the bed and saw a picture of Jiori when he was a kid with someone else who seemed to be Jiori's present age as at that time. Perplexed he was but disappointed as well, he couldn't find his friend and even if he was to go to Kronar to meet Raaul, he needed Jiori and his ID to be able to get inside, since he was not of the military upbringing. While lost in deep thoughts Devin unconsciously picked up the artifact and unknowingly made the diagonally placed axe on the ship stay horizontal. And the walls gave way showing a stairway down, going deep beneath the ground. His curiosity was sparked in an instant and he went in hurriedly. With each step Devin took, lthe lights were automatically switching themselves on until it led Devin to a lair which had the internal looks of a large cruiser but it seemed to be a Work In Process. But massive range of weapons, a large storage of exotic matter, the only thing that didn't look breath taking was the partially broken control panel for a Time Loop Prison which Devin was still in search of. “Okay right now, I do not know if I am asleep or awake, first I see tech, tech that I think should belong back at Kronar in the basement of a warp commander, then a control panel for a Time Loop Generator that is activated, tell me how much more stupid could my day get?” Devin said talking to nobody in particular as he approached the panel and noticed that the machine was running loops of 30 seconds on a prisoner whom he couldn't see. “Obviously the machine was activated before the lever was destroyed, if I'm going to disable this thing then I'll have to do it from the inside, If I create a warp field here I can cause a distortion here things could get really disruptive space and time wise so I need to be careful.” He begins muttering to himself again as he makes his resolution. “So, a bolt or a screw?” Devin asks himself as he takes a close look at the panel. “Yupp, screw it is, it's a medium sized screw so the job should be a bit easy, I just have to find one of those screwdriver thingys around here” After few minutes of thorough searching he found the exact screw driver he was looking for. “Aha, found it!” exclaimed Devin with a little happiness as he's about to carry out his plan he is interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps rushing down to the alley where he was. “Who's in here…move, move, move…I want what or whoever it is alive” the commander ordered his troops. Devin attempted but just when we was about to find cover behind a weapon shelf he fell and the troops already made it to the alley with the Commander after them. “Bomb, I'm dead” Devin said shakily as he feared for his life. Only when he noticed that to the people he was running away from he was invisible. Lost in thoughts, Devin laid where he was and observed what was going on.
